HoosierCat
Also the man who got the single loudest cheer in Cincy sports history.

kingwilly
I’ve always admired Sam. His innovative approaches helped advance the game. I hope he can now rest east.
HoosierCat
It’s really mind boggling when you think about the 80s in Cincy. You’ve got Wyche with the no huddle, you have former Cincy assistant Joe Walsh perfecting the ORO in SF, you’ve got Dick LeBeau and the zone blitz. It’s the foundation of the game today, all of course built on PB’s legacy.
jonf45uk
So sad to hear this news. IMO the best coach we've ever had, was such an intelligent man, innovative coach and decent bloke. The teams he coached in the late 80s early 90s were a joy to watch, hope the Bengals pay proper respect to him. RIP :(

AMPHAR
I was a fan before the 1988 season. Remember both Super Bowl teams. However memories of Sam and that season kept me going all these years. The excitement of that season is unmatched. 2005 approached it but in 1988 the whole region was Bengals all the time. Sad sad day.
