ArmyBengal
They still have to replace the lost players regardless of how shitty they were. Hart is more a product of they couldn’t go into the draft having lost 3 of the OT’s from last year. It’s just too much to replace and they still need to replace 2. I think OT is still VERY much in play at #11. How soon they paid Hart and how much is still debatable, but again I’ve resigned myself to the fact that they had to do something. I just wish that something would have involved free agency. I think Dalton’s replacement comes in next years draft.

COB
AAF folding up. Go sign the best tackle and the best linebacker from that league.
ArmyBengal
Considering the best RB from that league was Trent Richardson, that may be a sketchy proposition.

We are 3 weeks out and all has been very quiet. I'm still interested in what the asking price for Darron Lee from the Jets is and if they are even interested. I think they should be, but that's me. Nothing has changed in regards to LB and O-line help being the focal points for this draft.

ArmyBengal
Add RB to the needs because Mark Walton just got arrested for the 3rd time this off-season. What kind of fucking idiot is this dude ?? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/04/04/bengals-rb-mark-walton-arrested-for-third-time-this-offseason/ I'll take Bryce Love, RB, Stanford in the 5th please.

ShulaSteakhouse
Bengals' hosting Josh Allen. God knows why they'd trade that far up in the draft to get another edge/pass-rushing specialist on their roster. Hubbard and Dunlap and whoever else are fine for now, when you need 3 LB's, another DE, no matter how good, isn't going to help your defense much. Even at this point I cannot believe this team settled for re-siging Preston Brown and have done nothing else at LB, other than release Burfict. You have, literally, the worst group of LB's top-to-bottom in the entire league, and you do nothing. Zac Shula, I hope you are saving your salary. ArmyBengal
Yeah they would have Josh Allen at DE instead of OLB and they’ve done nothing for the linebacking corps. Still don’t know why they haven’t offered something for Darron Lee. Can’t take much to get him from the Jets and he’s better than anyone we have or could get in the 4th or 5th round. Don't forget Lawson will be back healthy this season also, there is no room for another high round DE on this team, this year
ArmyBengal
Josh Allen has played linebacker his entire college career and would instantly be massive for us at that position. Of course the Bengals are visiting with him and thinking he would be a DE for us. That’s just the kind of thing this stupid ass team does.
COB
Per various sources Dwayne Haskins’ stock is beginning to fall. If he’s there, will Mike pull the trigger on another strong-armed, lantern-jawed, statue?

ArmyBengal
So what do you all believe are the Bengals biggest needs ?? I'd like to think they see my first two the same way. That being Linebacker and OT. I think upgrading both of those positions will help the team the most THIS season. But what after that ?? With a slew of picks still to come after the 2nd round, assuming they don't try to make trades, which way do they go ?? While you lessen the odds of finding starter quality the later you go, looking at the 2020 free agent might help. Minus some deals getting done prior to next season, Unrestricted Free Agents after this season include: AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, and Cody Core Clint Boling, Trey Hopkins, and Christian Westerman Giovanni Bernard, Darqueze Dennard, Tyler Eifert and Andrew Billing There are more, but that's 10 starter or fringe starters to either work new deals for or replace. That being said, I think TE should be addressed this year as well since Kroft left and Eifert is a constant question mark. Further attempts at addressing the o-line depth should also be made since they still have to account for losses this season. I think they look at RB in the same area they got Walton the year before in the 4th or 5th rounds. Maybe another shot at WR as well and I think the D-line could use another DT at a minimum. Certainly it is arguable to make a case for most positions, but this just jumped in my head this morning and thought I would share. Seeing as how we area almost a couple weeks out, it seemed relevant.
AMPHAR
A pure blocking TE is needed, IMO. One that can grab 15 catches and block like crazy. I would take Gresham clone not in the first round.
ArmyBengal
For those of you like myself that like to toy around with the draft simulators, I found this one to be interesting: https://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/ Pick your team, how many rounds, which big board to use, select team needs group, and difficulty. I just find it interesting to change up the big boards and the level of difficulty and see what results you get. I also like not having to draft all rounds. I've been doing 5 round simulations. Then again, this may just be another sign of being a draft dork... Anyway, enjoy !!
Scottishbengal
Alex Redmond re-signed for a 1 year deal. I wonder if they are looking at a "developmental" O-line draftee as opposed to one that will come in and start from day 1. LB has got to be a day 1 or day 2 selection, surely?? With an eye to Free Agency as Army alluded to, we also need to stock up at WR, TE, and RB. Even if Dalton isn't going anywhere a QB to challenge and replace Driskell is also needed. Now watch as the Bengals go take a CB with the 11th pick
ArmyBengal
The Bengals just haven't valued linebackers at the top of the draft over the last 20 years You have to go back to 2008 and Keith Rivers to find a 1st round linebacker. In 2009 the took Maualuga in the 2nd round. Since then, there hasn't been a linebacker taken higher than the 3rd round. Prior to Rivers in 2008, you have to go back another 10 years when they took Spikes and Simmons both in the 1st round. Maybe this is the year that changes that. If not the 1st, surely the 2nd. Get almost the same value of LB in the 4-5 round. OTOH if they go LB first there are very good OT left in the second
