BengalszoneBilly Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 The Dolphins just fired HC Joe Philbin. Not a big surprise after a 1-3 start and all the expectations the pundits had for the team. Tannehills play didn't help him either. Who's next? Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Writing was on the wall after the loss in London. Not sure how much it will help, though. I have to think Chip Kelly and Andy Reid are in trouble. Both Philly and KC were supposed to contend and they suck so far. Probably Jim Caldwell in Detroit, too. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Kevin Coyle reportedly canned as well. http://www.nfl.com/videos/miami-dolphins/0ap3000000550441/Rapoport-Dolphins-fire-defensive-coordinator-Kevin-Coyle Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 That British game seems to get the loser fired, pretty often. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 Farewell Chip Kelly... http://deadspin.com/eagles-fire-chip-kelly-1750203858 didnt see that coming. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted December 30, 2015 Author Report Posted December 30, 2015 I could see the pressure mounting, as well as the fans displeasure with him and his team/system. Philadelphia a tough gig. Quote
COB Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 Chip Kelly got fired? Â WTF. Â He cut good players in the off season, now pays the price. Â Strange. Â It's like he sabatoged himself. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 Looks like he had an option to stay... dont see him getting an NFL gig with personnel control anywhere now. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 Philly is a tough gig, but it's not made easier when making stupid decisions. If anyone here became a head coach in the NFL, would you make the decision to trade for Bradshaw ?? Hell, would you have made even half the moves Chip made ?? Maybe he can go to the Titans now to coach Mariotta again. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 I'm intrigued by Manziel as well. Like how he continues to be such a complete and utter dumbass. As a football player ?? Not so much... Then again, I'm not a recently fired head coach looking for a job. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 Rumor mill bubbling today. Supposedly Pettine is toast Monday in Cleveland, and Coughlin may retire in NY. Quote

But since 2011 they haven't even made the playoffs. Great run though. 12 seasons, 102-90Â in the regular season, 8-3 in the postseason, two SB titles. Quote
kingwilly Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 My guess is one of the more desirable teams (Giants, SF, Philly, or Miami) will go hard after Hue. How long will they wait, should Bengals advance? I could see Hue in the NFC East. Would be sad for him to go but they've had Zampese in the wings for years, so i think Bengals would be fine. Other scenario, if the Brown family already had plans in place, would be for Marvin to step into front office and Hue take reigns in Cincy. That would be news. Quote
COB Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 Just heard Herm Edwards on ESPN. Â He and Jaws were blabbing about the Browns coaching job. Â Herm's candidate? Â None other than Marvin Lewis. Â "Cincinatti you messin'Â around and wouldn't give that guy an extension, uh huh. Â That's you're football coach, now you gotta mess around with the team right down the street, the Browns." Quote
volcom69 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I thought Marvin was already signed for another year or maybe I'm missing something Quote
gregcook68 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Lewis signed for next year already. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Per nfl.com, Sean Payton staying put in NO. He was rumored to be leaving/traded. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 7, 2016 Author Report Posted January 7, 2016 In a surprise move Wednesday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired head coach Lovie Smith. He was 6-10 this season, but to me the team seemed headed in the right direction. Third change in the last five years for the Bucs. I'm thinking the ownership there took a look at the coaches now available and have their eye on one in particular, but who? Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 If Gunther leaves I would totally be up for Lovie as DC. Quote
