It's much than a football game. Love Campbell, Bernard, and Iloka's comments and perspctive. Quote

gregcook68 Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 I wish we could approach the losses with this same frivolity! Maybe it truly is all about football games. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 At the end of the day, that's all it is. A football game. I try to remember that more than I did years ago.I used to get upset. Less so now. There's other games, and other sports, to watch (and play) Sundays. New movies out every weekend. Neighborhood events, family get togethers, whatever. If they win, great. If not, big whoop. Its just a game. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 Didn't mean to side track the conversation, but I enjoyed the comments for sure.A nice departure from the current mess we find our Bengals in.I feel the same way Hoosier. Not near as upset as I used to get with the team.I got my basement all cleaned out this past Sunday and finished my garage last night !!!Getting both of those things done brought me more joy than a Bengals win would have. That being said, i'm hoping to pick up a couple of tickets to take my son down to catch the game Sunday.I will be rooting and yelling like always. Maybe more knowing my basement and garage are clean !!! Quote
gregcook68 Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 I think the older we get the more perspective we gain? The wife and I still plan on heading to Cincy one day in the month of September to catch the Reds at home on Saturday and the the Bengals on Sunday, schedules permitting, since I've never seen Great American or PBS. Of course I'd have to break my 30 year rule of not supporting NFL or MLB financially, but that's okay. As I said before, my son bought us tickets for the Tampa game, hoping the Bengals will still be in the hunt and root for Marvin to 'hit for cycle', so to speak by beating his last NFL team. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 I want to see a winner more then anything with this team, but I'm the same way it's just a game. Win or lose oh well life goes on and with a 6 month old and a 4 year old I really can't get mad anymore lol. It pisses me off when I see people on twitter and other things threaten guys on the team after a loss, really get a life people it's just a game. At the end of the day we are just fans nothing we say will change the outcome, or stop this team from making moves. I enjoy reading and writing posts here, but whatever happens with this team, so be it life goes on, and it's just a game. Quote
Stripes Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 After the infuriating missed opportunities of 2006 and the total, miserable collapse of 2010, I feel like a seasoned veteran in the realm of handling a disappointing Bengals season. This one isn't quite there yet, but I'll be ready if the downward trend continues. Quote

This one isn't quite there yet, but I'll be ready if the downward trend continues. If this could easily be researched, I wonder where the Bengals fall on having key players getting hurt at critical times and/or season/career ending injuries?I would guess in the top 5 over their history and they kind of set the tone with with Greg Cook !
