AS far as the national "experts" comments go the team has brought it on itself

ever time we have a chance to make a statement we seem to fail

Sunday night in Pitt we lay major egg show no toughness can't score in the 3rd

yesterday we play dumb we were able to overcome it because we are at home and Baltimore is not a good team

to win in the playoffs which we are capable of we have to play smart and come out of the gate strong

only way to shut the critics up is to perform at level we are capable of over 2 or 3 games

I'm so ready to see it

hope this team is ready to do it

Will one be enough?

Seems they are a little over-confident in a team that barely makes it past a team full of back-ups. They will not be an easy out, but neither will the Bengals. They seem to forget that the Bengals are used to shutting down better offenses then they have and piling up points on much better Defenses. Should be a very good game, glad it is at home.

Prisco is staying aboard the Bengals Super Bowl bandwagon and predicts a win Sunday.

Of course you know this means we're doomed!

I really have hopes for this run and the ones to follow and here's why.

For me, forget all the stats and superstitions (national TV saga is just that).

For me it boils down to the attitudes and chemistry. That's one reason I posted the quotes from the players.

Everyone is hungry. Everyone speaks of the comradery of this team. Everyone speaks of chemistry. Veterans speak of how THIS team is different, in a positive way, than ANY of the past teams. Peko explained it best.

"Past teams had some 'mes' and 'Is' on it. Everyone on this team is about 'wes'."

This team is special and I don't think we have seen ALL the specialness of this team this year!

Don't misunderstand my criticism

I love the direction this team is going

the way we've overcome injuries

the games we've come back in this year

I think Andy is going to be here a long time and win a lot of games

I just really want a playoff run

it's time for some greatness

Greg no one won't cut it now if we go into a night game in New England against the Gods and beat a team we are capable of then maybe we can erase our past

I've been with this team since the beginning. I was 15 in 1968. Saw 2 close but disappointing SBs. Only one back to back playoff run in 1981 and 1982. Suffered through the 90s where I didn't watch them much, just kept up with weekly scores.

So, making playoffs 3 years in a row, winning the division by 3 games, which hasn't been done since 1981, seeing a team with this comradery, playing a game Sunday, at home, with momentum going in, which hasn't been done since the 80s, plus personally knocking the Ravens out of the playoffs, and contributing to knocking the Steelers out by giving them one of their 8 losses, which hasn't happened since 1999 (both Steelers and Ravens out of the playoffs), is real exciting for an old guy like me.

Plus, using your logic, if winning the SB is ALL that matters, what difference does it make if we lose the first playoff game or lose the SB game 21-20? We're still loser's either way!

Plus, even if you make the playoffs 5 years in row, win a SB in year 5, come back the next year, not making the playoffs at 8-8, like the Ravens, you go from heroes to turds in one year!

PS. All the Bills and Vikings are known for and remembered of, is losing 4 SBs.

Proving yet again that the internet is the best thing evah, today I stumbled across a word I will forever use to describe the likes of Rodney Harrison and Tedi Bruschi.

That word is "backpfeifengesicht." Pronounced (roughly) "bach fiefen ge shikt," it means "a face badly in need of a fist."

The Germans have such a way with words.

Rivers will be tough as usual, but get pressure on him and force mistakes.

If Zimmer brings same kind preasure like he did vs Ravens :D

Outside of the 4 picks, I thought they played well. No?

As far as Andys last pick I do not understand calling the fade on first and goal. Not with the running game we had today. Plus Andy didn't throw his typical high fade to AJ. It wasn't nearly high enough.

I agree,I thought it was a solid game outside picks and really 2-3 Picks hard hate on him for...

Don't forget the piss poor decision the great veteran QB Fat Ben made. Instead of taking a knee and going into OT, he makes the decision to throw a pick, leaving the Bengals time to move into FG range for the win.

Gee, I guess Andy isn't the only one to make bad choices!

I love German...

Yah. My daughter started taking it in middle school. She got a kick out of this video:

lmao

I took German in high school, it was great because there are no exceptions to rules. Every letter is pronounced, exactly the same way, no exceptions. I need to freshen up on it, I've forgotten most of what I knew. I've been learning French lately, which has been fun, but it's the exact opposite of German.

Based upon what Gruden said about that play, i'm trying to figure out why they didn't call a timeout.

He said he saw the defensive lineup and they should have called something else. It was his call not Dalton's.

At that point in the game, going up another TD would have made the use of the timeout irrelevant.

It was a lazy throw on the part of Dalton, but one that still would have been a TD had Green not been equally lazy waiting on the ball.

Where did you get that impression? From what I've read, it was Dalton's audible:

There was an article from either ESPN or the official site and Gruden stated he shouldn't have run that play.

If they didn't get the defensive lineup they thought they would, they should have called a timeout.

It seems as though the team is feeding off the next man up mentality

It's been amazing to watch them overcome one after another

that was another thing that frustrated me watching the football night crew gush all over the Pats overcoming injuries and not mentioning the Bengals

At least Deon mentioned it on the nfl network

I'd love to shut those two up. Harrison was a good player because he played behind Junior Seau early in his career. Bruschi was a good player because he played defense on Bill Belichick's team with Tom Brady as his QB and rarely played from behind.

With 32 teams, it becomes to hard to stay up to date on the details of each team so it is easier to hang onto the cliche and easy stuff when thing s don't go well. We don't play in Boston or New York, or have the extended success of the Steelers or Ravens and we aren't in the NFC East or the NFC North so we aren't going to get any kind of real appreciation until we win a few playoff games or get back to the Super Bowl again.

So while we are in the German mode, I thought I would share a video from one of our old German words from last year, Schadenfreude, meaning deriving joy from the misery or misfortune of others. Suck it Steelers. Suck it Ravens.
