redsbengalsbucks
Ohhhhh this is gonna be a sweet W. I think most of you are underestimating the pure awesomeness of our coaching staff. We can run the ball, but we've been passing so well, why run? We'll run this weekend if the weather report holds up. Ol' Willis will get his touches, and I expect him to get 100 or so. This ain't the same Browns fellas. This team has some serious swagger and confidence reaming, I just hope it doesn't go to their head, especially if we win this weekend. 17-10 Brownies.HaHa! ArmyBengal
Silly Browns fans. How's that "elite" QB doing today ??What are the odds of a 4-6 team making the playoffs ??Kind of hard to jump up from a current #12 seed.
cincyhokie
Delusional.Elite QB. Playoffs (nevermind the upcoming schedule @NE, @NYJ, @Pitt). We'll have half Browns fans at PBS. Our defense can't be stopped. We're the best team in the AFCN right now.....Bi-polar Browns fans. They have no idea how to handle even the littlest bit of success, i.e. winning one game out of the previous four.Today, if you get on their Brownschat site, it's talk about 5-11 and the draft. Pure comedy.
Stripes
Hey look, the site works. To be fair, the Bengals offense couldn't have looked any worse yesterday. Dalton was trash again.Scoring 31 points in a quarter including at least one touchdown in all three phases is a nice touch though.
cincyhokie
Dalton was trash again, yep. He did make key TD throws, one was on 3rd down, which were crucial. One the last TD drive the Bengals only threw the ball once and that was to A. Smith for the TD.The O-line did a much better job yesterday. IMO, that was the key to the game going in. If the Bengals can find their stride running the ball and getting better pass protection, they're going to do well in these last 5 games. Dalton sucked but there's some good reasons to think the play of the offense as a whole can improve in the part of the season that counts. ArmyBengal
I'm going to ask a question and see where it falls. What do people think about those two INT's Dalton threw ??I think Dalton sucks at throwing those out routes and it doesn't appear that he gets much on them. The reason I feel this way is how easy it appears the DB's are able to jump the route and get the pick. That being said, I also feel AJ has to do a better job coming back for those throws. He appeared to simply wait for the ball to get to him and it failed miserably. This wasn't the first time this season either. The offense needs to really work on those issues over the bye time.Gruden continues to piss me off for all the reasons already mentioned throughout this season. I'm going to feel very good about this team if they come out of the bye week and play a decent football game on both sides in San Diego. Every remaining game in the regular season has that "tough but very winnable" feel about it, save for Minnesota. No excuse there unless we're already resting starters (highly unlikely). HoosierCat
I wouldn't call Dalton trash yesterday. He was trash in the first quarter, but he had plenty of help, starting with Cook's tripping penalty on the very first play. Whit got called for his weekly hold, Gresham had an OPI flag and his weekly drop. And Dalton tossed two picks, one of which went for six (though Green shares responsibility for one of those). Andy was something like 2-8, 19 yards and 2 picks through the first 15 minutes. And then...the clock ticked over to Q2 and Bad Andy left the building. Literally that moment; his first pass of the second period was a TD. Rest of the way Dalton was 11-19/74/3TDs/0 INT. The o-line was lights-out, the run game reappeared, and defense and teams made multiple big plays.I haven't seen a QB and a team so cleanly and completely switch directions since December of 2004, when the Bengals were in Baltimore down 20-3 with 30 seconds left in the third. Palmer had just tossed a pick-six and the next drive had bogged down. But the Ravens were about to muff the punt, and the Clark Kent wearing No. 9 who just walked off the field was about to find his cape.It will be interesting to see what happens in two weeks out in SD. Stripes
Also, if this team ends up 10-6 or so and the #4 seed, I'd feel pretty decent about a game against the Chiefs. Two playoff win challenged franchises in one wild card game.

Teams simply know that Dalton has used that pass to success in getting 5-7 yards to AJ. Why? Because they have to play off of him for fear he'll go deep.Scrap that ***damn out route. I can't stand that play because it's no longer worth the 5 yards when it ends up as an INT so often. They've got 2 weeks to infuse some life into the playcalling. They need to get it done. Two playoff win challenged franchises in one wild card game.I'd honestly rather see them in the #4 seed. They'll more than likely get the Chiefs which could be a better match than playing the team that gets the #6 who will more than likely be coming off of a hot end of season run with nothing to lose. #3 or #4 seed make zero difference this season as long as Denver takes the AFCW.Of course if the Bengals get REAL HOT and go 12-4, they can feasably take the #2 seed, in which case they will have earned it by winning the last 6 games in a row. They know that Dalton has a noodle arm so they coach the corner to jump the route and if Green does a double move, they have a safety back waiting for him. Now it's up to the Bengals re-adjust. This strategy was particularly in force yesterday with the wind

Green should have broken out, not in. Dalton threw to the right spot but Green didn't make the right read. The second one was on Andy. Haden had position. Dalton simply had to go elsewhere with the ball and didn't. I agree with hokie, that page of the playbook needs to be burned.

COB
I wouldn't call Dalton trash yesterday. I think this was one of Dalton's good games. He did throw that one pick, but that was after Green turned the wrong way on the previous possession. And after our OC had been served notice that the Browns' seriously talented corner, who owned Green in our first meeting this year, was playing him tight and willing to gamble for a pick on that little out route. So what do we call? You saw it.He threw good passes when he had to. His normal miss when he's having a bad day, those days when he chucks the ball about 6 feet over the head of a wide open receiver, was not present. He played well but his stats weren't great. In part those stats are due to the weather. Also, our defense handed the offense the ball in some pretty good spots, we had the chance for short drives instead of long ones. Just not a good day for offenses in PBS.

The CB cues Scut's motion and jumps it. My issue is why they don't double move the out route, especially after having it jumped? go double move and over the top...
