cHaD711Johnson Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Looks like Aaron Maybin DE/OLB has signed with Bengals. Quote
walzav29 Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 It's fine. You never know if Zimmer can squeeze something out of him. Quote
cHaD711Johnson Posted January 25, 2013 Author Report Posted January 25, 2013 He played pretty well for the Jets for a while. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 No harm in kicking the tires. He can't be any worse than Lawson. Quote
cincyhokie Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Bengals-sign-Maybin/cc241087-5a63-4680-bce9-a89557d4696eCan't say they're not kicking the tires on some players. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Meh, another reclamation project instead of a quality FA. They need a stud LB in the worst way to go along with Burfict, Maybin ain't it. Quote
TJJackson Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 shades of signing that DE from Jacksonville last offseason. he didn't last either, but I cant see any hurt in taking a long looksie at this player Quote
cincyhokie Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I'm thinking 2 things.One. They're still going to draft a LB.Two. This might be Moch's replacement in their eyes. Situational pass rusher. Doing this for the Jets in 2011, he led them in sacks. Quote

volcom69 Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I actually don't mind this move more compition in camp, and he can play DE if needed, kind of like a Peter Boulware type that Marvin likes. Let him compete and see how he does, still have draft and FA. Quote

BengalszoneBilly Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 I went over to JetNation and asked about the dude. They pretty much called him a one trick pony and a liability against the run.Looks like Rey has some competition in the fail department. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Wow, we signed Aaron Maybin ??God he sucks. That is all.No wait, he REALLY sucks. Now that is all. Quote
wpeldios Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 In everything I have seen from this guy he is not half the player Lawson is. And Lawson is not a good player. Camp fodder I don't know if he will stick around. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Buffalo drafted him 11th overall in 2009 out of Penn State. You'd think the guy would have something going for him. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Usually I like stories like this and look to see what they might be capable of.The story on the official site sounds really great and Maybin sounds excited about it as well.I'm just not as optimistic with this one.Linebacker is a need, so it doesn't hurt. Quote
skyline Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 ... it doesn't hurt. That pretty much sums it up. Nothing much else to say until we see what he does (or doesn't do). Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Don't get me wrong, I will rooting that Zimmer and the rest of the coaching staff can find a way to tap into his unrealized potential and Maybin proves all his doubters wrong. I want to see the talent that made him a first round selection to begin with. Maybe the change in what they are going to expect for him will bring that out. If i'm a betting man however, I wouldn't be placing my money on it happening. But yep, it's doesn't hurt... Quote
