Coaches have a tendency to fall in love/overvalue their own guys, and that's not a flaw limited to Cincy. But they do it to an extent (especially Paul Alexander) that drives me batty sometimes. Anyhow, water under the bridge now. More Sanu, more Jones, less Binns, cut Tate. Quote

Which is it ??I think that in Rey's case it's the second factor I mentioned, coaches' tendencies to fall in love with and overvalue their guys. I remember the first pics of Lewis with Maualuga after the draft; Marvin was wearing a 10,000-watt smile. I think Marvin calling him out (along with Dalton) a couple weeks back is a sign that finally the bloom is off the rose, but who knows? Even before this year Maualuga was a disappointment. I remember people saying here that they were tired of the list of excuses (injuries, booze, out of position, etc) and just wanted to see some good play. Despite that his place in the starting lineup was never a question. Quote
