TJJackson Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Possible waiver pickup:former Bengals CB David Jones was just cut by the Redskins - he was the player we traded to JAX for Reggie Nelson6 year veteran, 6'0" 196lbs, not injured as far as I know, and familiar with the Zimmer DI only mention this due to all the questions we have at the CB spot - if he's healthy, even though the veterans we have are generally better players, if they can't play they're of no use other than consuming a roster spot Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Per the twitters, it sounds like Orson Charles made the cut, which likely means Cochart didn't. Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 DeQuin Evans cut, per Reedy. Could make the PS; I wouldn't be surprised given the injuries at DE.Reedy also tweets they appear to be keeping 7 WR so they will have to go light somewhere else. Quote
princeton Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 they appear to be keeping 7 WR that's insane. Let's run 'n' shoot. Quote
Wraith Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Does that mean that Burflict is in trouble? Quote
volcom69 Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Does that mean that Burflict is in trouble?Nope saw he made it at least that's what was reported Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 Does that mean that Burflict is in trouble? No, they are cutting Otis Hudson. He'll be signed to the PS if he makes it through waivers.Robinson, Burfict make the squad. Whalen is the 7th WR.Iloka also made the team.Herron cut. No surprise there. Quote
Stripes Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I wish they'd stop it with the pointless #3 QB. Quote
volcom69 Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I wonder if Whalen is trade bait, it's just strange they keep 7 receivers. They keep Whalen but is he even going to be activated each week Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 I wish they'd stop it with the pointless #3 QB.Um, they did. Last year.Vincent Rey reportedly made the team. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Muckelroy waived.Sims to PUP.Hayden released with injury settlement.Looks like Cook will get the new 8-week IR designation next week. Quote
UK Bengal Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Surprised about Vincent rey over muckleroy Quote
volcom69 Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Surprised about Vincent rey over muckleroyIt's all about special teams. If you watched Rey and Burfict on special teams they outplayed Muck. I am bummed about Muck thought he was playing great, maybe they sign him back if Cook goes to IR. Love them keeping Burfict my favorite player. I like this line up still not sure about 7 WR, but like what I see. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 The roster is likely to change more over the weekend as they sort through cuts. Looking at the new depth chart, the o-line is thin; they got 9 OL now and that will almost certainly go down to 8 when Cook gets shelved for part of the year on Tuesday. I would like to see them bring Muck back but they literally have zero backup guards. The 3 backup linemen are two tackles, Collins and Roland, and Faine, a center. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Yeah, the interior of the o-line is crazy thin.7 WR's for the first time since Marvin has been here and Muck was released ??Yeah, that surprises me.Love that Burfict made the roster, it didn't take much to see he was getting it.His upside with a clear thinking head is crazy high. Not much surprising when looking at who they released overall.BRING ON THE 10TH !!! Hope they can bring him back. Quote

Sea Ray Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Bucs release Shipley.I'm surprised he passed their physical Quote

HoosierCat Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Cochart, Muck make Prisco's all-cut team./>http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/pete-prisco/20000720/all-cut-team-youth-is-served-- Quote
kingwilly Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 They released Hudson, Stephens and Muck. Those are a surprise. Muck will get a look by LB-weak across the league. He won't be unemplyed long. Hudson, too. Kind of surprised they kept Cochart so long. He was behind Charles, Lee and of course Gresham.7 WR may only be temporary. Seems like they might need some help at CB, should Allen/Jones/Hall get nicked up at all. That leaves CB somewhat thin - Clements, Newman and the Rook. Not exactly confidence inspiring.Until I see BJGE and Scott exceling, I will be very supportive of upgrading Leonard and Peerman (lesser). Probably some good RB's looking for work over the next few days.. gotta grab one up for insurance.Muck seemed to have a higer ceiling than Skuta... Much higher. Mild surpirseI predict they grab another waiver DE, too. Evans departing tells me they will be shopping for an upgrade - as Geathers and Dunlap will not begin the season at 100%.To me, getting an upgrade ar RB and DE are the best possible moves coming.Who gets cut when Moch comes off suspension? Skuta? Whalen? an extra CB or S? Quote
TJJackson Posted September 1, 2012 Author Report Posted September 1, 2012 Gimme CB Donald Washington (Chiefs) and maybe DE Everette Brown (Lions) Quote
volcom69 Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 Looks like Colin Cochart got picked up by the cowboys so good luck to him. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 I really don't think we will see much if anything. When Cook gets placed on whatever the new IR rule is, I bet they bring back Hudson considering the lack of depth on the interior of the o-line.If he doesn't go somewhere else that is.
