membengal
TJ, you may have to come to understand what you see as needs, the coaching staff may not.As for the draft, I was always curious what it would look like someday if the Bengals ever set their board and stuck to it.Turns out I like it very much. TJJackson
True enough, mem -- but do you really think the staff does not recognize that they need (one example of a few) a RB in this draft?
HoosierCat
Cochart can catch, too. He had 88 yards and a TD last year on just 5 receptions. Not his fault that they just didn't ask him to do it very often.

I think they like BJGE, Scott, and Leonard. Like I said in another thread, if they DO draft a RB, I think it'll be someone like Rainey that can fill multiple roles. BengalszoneBilly
Wow! Orson Charles! He was on my list as a guy I really like... but didn't expect the Bengals to take him. Very good pick there! (Not Chris Polk good... but he'll be very productive).I'm out of the loop here. The only guy I've ever heard of with the first name "Orson" had the last name "Welles". I hope this Orson can rock the country like the other did.

That said, I was growing to like Cochart pretty well and am really surprised we went TE at all this draft. Still, if he's as great a value at this pick as it seems, I am all for it! (I would call you "Army", but that name is taken.)Thanks, good to be back and glad to know people actually remember me, given that I have not posted in several years (my life was swallowed by obligations). 101 works for me as I'd not want to tread on the venerable "Army"'s toes. As for football, why do you feel we had to go TE? I was pretty pleased with what I saw from our TE group last year for the most part. Not that I"m complaining, I just didn't see it as something that needed to be addressed. Has there been a general feeling that we needed an upgrade at TE? If so, what's your feelings on why this was something we needed to do?

ArmyBengal
I keep seeing people bust the Bengals for making a pick like this, but not realizing we got yet another second round type player in the 4th round.Had the Pats made this move, they would be all over their nuts. This is another pick I really do like.At least a lot better than considering Fleener in the first... wpeldios
Great Talent, and it was one mistake so I'll give a pass on the character concern. Once it goes beyond one Im not so forgiving. As for the player, you have possibly the most complete tight end in the draft. This is a guy at Georgia who was a great reciever and a great blocker. Love it.
ArmyBengal
Oh, I have no issues with the pick. I like it very much as a matter of fact.So should all the people that thought it was a plausible idea to draft Fleener at #21.I would like to hear Green's comments about him as they played together.
