HoosierCat
per nfl.com/>http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82631a8f/article/dolphins-coach-philbin-considers-bengals-coyle-for-dc-roleI can't recall ever having so many teams interested in so many Bengals coaches. COB
The Bengals coaches have done what a lot of teams want done, taken a franchise that can't get going, and put it in the playoffs two out of the last three years. And I think the media claim that in Cincinnati you succeed in spite of the front office also helps elevate the status of these coaches. ArmyBengal
I would love to see Coyle stick around, but would wish him great success in the future !!!
volcom69
Will Mike even let him interview for the job, Eagles wanted to last year and Mike said NO! So i wonder what will happen with this!
jjakq27
It probably hinges on what happens with Zimmer.
COB
I wanted to interview Kevin Coyle for the job of raking my leaves this fall and Mike Brown wouldn't let me interview him. That old bastard.
volcom69
Well sounds like he will interview for the job, i wonder how that will go!
volcom69
So according to PFT Miami will not retain Bowles, so it looks like Coyle could get the job if they like him.So if he leaves and Zim stays, they could get Bowles, or Rod Woodson, or Del Rio somebody like that to coach the secondary!I do find it interesting that all of a sudden they are letting him talk to teams, i wonder what changed?? jjakq27
Apparently Coyle and Philbin are good friends. Marvin said he will be "shopping" for a replacement at the Senior Bowl this week. Sounds like he's gone.
HoosierCat
Coyle's interview is reportedly happening today.
HoosierCat
Per Hobson's twitter, Coyle could be named Miami DC as soon as tomorrow.
volcom69
Per Hobson's twitter, Coyle could be named Miami DC as soon as tomorrow.Figured he was going to be leaving, and i wish him well. Im hoping they go outside to hire the new secondary coach! Im hoping they are looking at Bowles, in Miami and Dallas he coached some pretty good DBs! Maybe they will let Zim have a say in who he wants!
jjakq27
Marvin said there is one opening. At that point the speculation was that it's FitzGerald but he's gotta know Coyle's gonna go too. Wonder which one he's referring to?
ArmyBengal
For some reason, I had forgotten just how long Coyle has been with the organization. He's certainly deserving of the opportunity and wish him well should he leave. HoosierCat
I think I'm more concerned about Coyle leaving than I would have been about Zimmer leaving. Lord knows our secondary was a disaster area last season, but given what there was to work with Coyle has to be credited with doing a heck of a job. Scottishbengal
I will appear to be in the minority here but I've had my heart broken so many times seeing a 3rd and long situation get turned into a huge play for opposing offences that I'd be happy for someone else to come in and have a crack at getting the secondary less prone to the 3rd and 15 suckerpunch. Arkansas Bengal
Good luck, Kevin. You definitely paid your dues with 11 years in Cincinnati. Now who will we get to replace him...maybe Rod Woodson?
