jjakq27
CB Leigh Bodden was released by the Patriots last week. I always liked that guy when he was with the Browns. I wonder if he would be a good pick-up considering his familiarity with the division./>http://articles.boston.com/2011-10-29/sports/30337218_1_coach-belichick-bill-belichick-patriots

I would pick him up and cut Kelly Jennings in a heartbeat, but we can't have someone that's not buying into the program on our team. The choice is up to him now that he has cleared waivers, he should clearly know what his expectations will be on the next team he goes to. I would have sided with New England on this one until this Sunday when Ben Tate ran that punt back, because usually when they flat out cut someone that person usually never works out at the next place that he goes. Spor_tees
I thought I read that Peter King said the Bengals put in a claim waiver for him already.
COB
I thought I read that Peter King said the Bengals put in a claim waiver for him already.Everything he says sounds like, "MMmgfroooogh..." due to Bill Bellicheck's nuts being firmly lodged against King's tonsils.I can't figure out what's with Belicheck. He sometimes acts like he doesn't even need good players. For whatever reason, he always has a ton of draft picks, then he trades them away for more draft picks, and instead signs old timers who want that ring, ie that linebacker from San Diego, receivers Randy Moss and Chad, etc.
COB
Just a post script, but I heard King on the radio a few weeks ago blabbing about how he was in the process of moving from Boston to New York City to be closer to his job. He waxed poetically about how great Boston was, barely concealing his man-love for all Patriot's players and staff. He said the day he moved to Boston a few years prior, Tom Brady called him on his cell and told him where a bunch of good restaurants were, and gave him all sorts of inside stuff about Boston that made it so easy for him to live there and enjoy it.Sports 'journalism', the way it has evolved, and the way King practices it, is nothing more than climbing inside the jock of star players, coaches, and gms, and getting really, really, comfy. I mean how can Hobson be a good reporter when he receives a pay check from Mike Brown. He might as well be writing for a newspaper in China. Does the Bengal's PR guy (Jack Brennan?) just hand Hobson sheets each week telling him what to write? I mean if so Mike Brown could save some money and hire a monkey to do the articles. BengalPimp
I don't know that they need him. I liked his play when he was with Cleveland, but had a very forgettable year in Detroit, and hasn't looked good this year. The Patriots need help on Defense, as they give up tons of yards, yet they are ok releasing Bodden? Hmmmm? And if it's true that he wants to start and not be a Nickel, well then, he just doesn't fit in here, as he would likely be the 4th CB if Adam Jones is healthy. jjakq27
I think his familiarity with Pittsburgh and the Ravens would be the main reason to pick him up. As long as they try to upgrade and not stand pat during the season I take that as a positive. As for the Pats I really thought Ocho would be the one to get the ax from that team. Like around Thanksgiving. It could possibly be a simultaneous ax dropping with Chad and your family's turkey.

Stripes
Sounds like a perfect candidate to be the next rebuilding job for Zimmer. I'd be very happy if they bring in Bodden, assuming he comes somewhat cheaply and isn't considered a contender for a starting role.
