Spor_tees
How crazy is it that per Florio at PFT, the Bengals home opener in week 3 is already blacked out! :frustrated:
Stripes
I wouldn't call it very crazy, even though I don't know how it could possibly be determined yet. The economy sucks and the fans are crappy.
jjakq27
Leave it to Florio to pee in our garden.
skyline
Where's Chad to make some deals and buy up the rest of the tickets!?!?
cincyhokie
It's not blacked out because the deadline hasn't passed yet. Sometimes I seriously wonder how Florio and Peter King have jobs writing. It'll probably be blacked out though. Who's got a link to a stream? Spor_tees
I guess a lot of season ticket holders may have canceled their passes this year. Hopefully if they start the season 3-0 or so, more tickets will get sold and they will be shown on tv.
bwillycuse
Hobson reported it on the .com before florio.Yeah - I cancelled my season tix - couldnt justify the cost right now. I have tix to a couple games. One good thing - Im outside the blackout area.Another good thing - live streaming on the interwebs. Its better than nothing i suppose. And if you're local TV is Lexington then you definately won't get it.
Spor_tees
I'm in far south Kentucky on the Tennessee border. The Titans play at 1:00 and the Bengals play at 4:00.Edit: Scratch that I was talking about this week instead of next week. They are the closest 1:00 game on fox to where I live. Lions/Vikings, Saints/Texans, and Giants/Eagles are the only other 1:00 games. I hope I don't get stuck with the Saints/Texans instead of the Bengals! Spor_tees
Well I found the site that shows the viewing area for each of the games, but it does not have week 3 up yet. Here is this weeks games for those that need to look at it.CBS Coverage Map for the Bengals Week
jjakq27
The statement came from the Bengals ticket office and was posted on Lance's blog. I'm guessing they've already thrown in the towel. They must be at least 10k short.

ShulaSteakhouse
So where does one go these days to view streaming games? I don't want to be stuck watching the miserable Browns/Indy game today either. (hoping to find/watch the Lions/Chiefs game)

Yes, even if you live in the 75-mile blackout radius or are in the home markets and have DirecTV’s Sunday Ticket, you will be blacked out.The two preseason games drew two of the five lowest-attended games in Paul Brown Stadium history, including a record 39,797 for the Sept. 1 game against Indianapolis. That is completely ridiculous. You are paying what, three hundred bucks or something to get all the NFL games and you still don't get the one you really want? This no sellout/blackout policy doesn't work. Not enough interest in your product? Take it off TV! Makes no sense. What little I know about marketing, brand identity, etc., says get as much exposure for your product as you can. The more you are on TV, the more people see you, the more interest you generate in your team. Central Ohio isn't in the blackout radius, so I still get to see them most of the time.An NFL game on tv is a 3 hour infomercial for your team. jjakq27
Yesterday, someone at work mentioned that WLW reported there were nearly 30,000 tickets available for Sunday's game. And no Octoberfest walk-up crowd this weekend either. Might have to shut down the top deck.
redsbengalsbucks
Might have sold out if they could have pulled out the win in Denver and been 2-0 for the home opener.

You are paying what, three hundred bucks or something to get all the NFL games and you still don't get the one you really want? Check this out. Because a local area network was showing the Raider-Bills game it couldn't be shown on Sunday Ticket in the Los Angeles area. But because Los Angeles has also been declared a secondary market for the San Diego Chargers the NFL claims it is contractually obligated to switch from live coverage of the Raider/Bills game to the start of the Chargers game against New England. And that's exactly what they did. In fact, they switched coverage to another game on third down and goal to go with less than 20 seconds remaining in a game the Raiders led by less than a TD. And just to complete the picture, the Bills had the ball. They scored of course. Crazier still, immediately after leaving the Raider-Bills game Los Angeles viewers were treated to six commercials and two local station promos before joining the Charger game, which hadn't even started yet.
