jjakq27
DE Carlos Dunlap is returning to class at Florida to eventually complete his degree. Seems like he's got his act together.Good move on his part. It's more productive than dancing during the off-season./>http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20110119/ARTICLES/110119369/1136?Title=Dunlap-a-Gator-again

HoosierCat
Jay Hayes: Dunlap to start in 2011."Right now, the biggest thing he's going to have to do is, with the production he had, I know everyone's going to say, 'Hey, he's got to play every play,' so now he's got to transition from being a part-time player to a full-time player," Hayes told PFW at the Senior Bowl. "And that's going to be the issue. Can he go out there and play those types of numbers of plays going from 250 plays during the season to 700-and-some plays and do the things that he's still done and more?"Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about Dunlap as a starter taking that many snaps. On the one hand he's certainly earned the opportunity. On the other, I remember Robert Geathers having 10+ sacks as a situational pass rusher, and then turning into what he's been since. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, y'know? Trevor
Yeeah but geathers isnt nearly as talented.... Dunlops already 290 so he doesnt have to add weight like geathers and hes still young and fresh too so it wont destroy his body knock on wood
Sea Ray
Put him in for more snaps. If he seems to tire then rotate him im and out until we find his sweet spot. That's what coaches do

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, y'know?I Think he should be the starter I just worry about are they going to bring him out on passing downs? are they going to ask him to gain 30 lbs? This seems to always happen we have a solid Passrush then they get elephantized...But like suggested Try it out if it drops off his production simply start Fanene on running downs then put Dunlap on Passing. COB
Ha ha! The hits just keep on coming for Mike Brown in this offseason of discontent. Even Redhouse doesn't have the balls to ask to restructure Dunlap's deal after only one season. If he has a great year next year, maybe think about giving him a raise, it would be reasonable then. Kazkal
Not good news, and does not make me happy about the thought processes of Mr DunlapJust because he decided to find a good agent doesn't mean he's looking for a big contract this offseason...As for his thought process going back to school instead of partying. He will be advised by his agent to hold out if the team doesn't give him a new deal. I really don't like this guy at all. He puts ideas in players heads and most of them are not good. ArmyBengal
Agree with not liking the idea of Rosenwhore in his head, but it comes with the business.I guess the upside to him asking for more money would be the fact he has a monster year next year.In that situation, a bump in salary wouldn't really upset me much.It is what it is... membengal
Quick...name the last Bengals that the team lost because they refused to pay him what he was worth?I'll wait. I expect I will be waiting a long time. Mike Brown has a lot of faults, but he's ponied up contracts to keep players just fine. Rosenhaus or no. ben
You have to produce on the field before you can ask for a big contract. His little rally at the end of the year means nothing. Just like people getting exited about Jerome Simpson, come back and see what you can do over a 16 game season playing all the time to see what you can produce. ArmyBengal
Sure, I want to see him produce again next season, but had they gotten him in sooner rather than later (and there was no real reason not to) Suh may very well have been the runner up in the DROY balloting. It's a shame, because Geathers and any other DE's really weren't blowing the doors off things.
TJJackson
As long as he produces at a high level (see Geathers) and doesn't turn into a diva, jackass (see Chad) after the big contract. This is my primary concernTrue about the earlier comment - him going back to school is on the other hand a sign of good judgement
Kazkal
Well Carlos Dunlap getting so much deserved love though he doesn't stand a chance of winning,He's one of Sixteen players in the running for Madden 12. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/madden2012coverMust stop ward from advancing... Looks like it's one player per team, and the fact that Dunlap is the Bengals' rep says a whole lot, I'd say. Note that it's also limited probably by who's done the cover before, and who might be prevented from doing it due to other endorsements and crap. I'll note that the Patsies' guy is Danny Woodhead. Hmmm...Dunlap is a 15 seed. Somehow Suh is a 16 seed. Too bad Matt Millen isn't around anymore, I'd like that trade.
ArmyBengal
Not related to the cover, but Dunlap is yet another example of a player that should have been getting more gametime reps.I say that due to waht he was able to accomplish in a short time and the fact there were players at the position ahead of him not doing so well.If they had, they wouldn't be sitting here this year claiming they can't get rid of Odom or Geathers because they have to see if Dunlap will continue to progress. I think they really f*cked the pooch on that one and put themselves in a position where they don't feel they can move on quite yet.
