COB Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I became an instant Brandon Ghee fan when he delivered an outrageously hard hit in the Bills game Saturday night. Of course if you were watching you know he knocked himself unconscious for about a minute as a result. The Buffalo player didn't get up too fast, either. Has anyone heard anything about Ghee's condition? I think that game was his first action of the year, hopefully he'll be able to play again quickly. Quote
Wraith Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 They didn't put him on IR so that is a pretty good sign. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Bumped dome piece was last I heard, with nothing further. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I read concussion, and I'm wondering if it was his first. FWIW this wasn't his first action of the season or his first blow up hit. Remember, Ghee is the guy who blew up the Cowboy returner in the HOF game....the play where they eventually ruled he was blocked into the returner. Very aggressive, very physical...borderline stupid. Quote
whizzo Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 he probably won't be playing in the last preseason game... hope he's ready for the first week. he could go on the PUP list (can he?). the problems with concussions are 1) that you can't dick around with them, and 2) you can't predict when they'll "clear up". so let's play it safe, lest we rush ghee back into action and he gets hurt worse it turns into a chronic condition. HoosierCat Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 I saw a note today where Ghee says he feels fine, they just have play things by the new NFL rules for concussions. Quote
COB Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 That's good news. He looked pretty out of it when they put him on the cart. He came flying in there like a missile. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 He came flying in there like a missile. Again, borderline stupid. He launches. He leads with his head. It's all very inspiring, but..... Quote
COB Posted August 31, 2010 Author Report Posted August 31, 2010 I don't need to be inspired. But I do want defenders willing to deliver knockout hits. Brandon just needs to figure out that he's supposed to knock the other guy out. He definitely needs to get his head up, or his spinal cord could be in danger. Quote
bwillycuse Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 He came flying in there like a missile. Again, borderline stupid. He launches. He leads with his head. It's all very inspiring, but.....Yeah - reminds me of a head down tackle on Browns running back(Green?) by Pollack. His career wasn't going to last long with that technique. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 A bit of a long shot to make the roster unless a CB goes down in front of him, and a project that might take a couple of years to learn how to cover people - he's obviously trying to make it on ST's, and paying for it. And yeah he's played in all 3 games so far I believe. Someone tell him to tackle with his head up - style points don't get you a job, but making a solid tackle just might. Quote
BengalPimp Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 A bit of a long shot to make the roster unless a CB goes down in front of him, and a project that might take a couple of years to learn how to cover people - he's obviously trying to make it on ST's, and paying for it. Seriously? You actually think they wouldn't give a roster spot to their 3rd Rd Pick? Classic Shula Quote
COB Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 I think he'll make it because he's figured out what his defensive coordinator wants and given it to him. Shula's right, even Anthony Munoz said on TV that Brandon can't cover yet. So what can he do? Go insane when he gets in there, and he's doing it. I doubt they'll PS him because if they do, he'll get snatched up right quick. Quote
