volcom69
How much of it is WR not running right route or going deep enough? Like the first interception where Carson seemed pissed that chad ran the wrong route...Not only that but Maybe Chad asks for them slightly high so that way he's only one make play on it...It's not like this is new it's always been chads specialty making those freakish catches...Actually it was Carson's fault , not Chad's. This quote came from Carson in the post game:Q: On the first of the two interceptions, was Chad (Ochocinco) supposed to go short, and he went long?“No. It was my fault. There was just a miscommunication between the two of us. I just need to give him another second to let him get to where he’s going to end up. I’ll look at it. It’s still cloudy, thinking about the way it happened. I just need to do a better job of letting him get to the spot that he’s going to get to, so he can have a chance to make a play on the ball.”Carson just said that because he dosnt want to hurt Chads ego lol lol. No but really Chad and Carson have been working toghter for so long they should be on the same page by now you would think. I dont care if he took the ota off so he can find a girl, they should still be on the same page

derekshank
In an ESPN magazine article in 2006 about Carson Palmer, it was mentioned that Palmer has always blamed himself when talking to the media. He doesn't throw his teammates under the bus. It was verified by several of the WRs on the Bengals at the time, as well as previous USC players. I didn't see the play, so I don't know whose fault it was... but Palmer saying it was his fault means nothing.
HairOnFire
Turning your WR's into defenseless targets, does not a good QB make. Are you talking about the play Chad got blasted on? Because that was a perfectly thrown ball that not only hit Chad in the mitts, but also...both of Chad's feet were firmly planted on the ground. As for the head shot itself, I haven't laughed that hard in months.

As distinguished from the one where he became the meat in a Philly cheese steak LB sandwich. As for the head shot itself, I haven't laughed that hard in months. It's not funny to laugh at another man's pain. Well, except when it's Chad. HairOnFire
Chad needs to focus. I know it's just preseason but he needs to take it a bit more seriously. I'd say he's taken seriously everything he's prioritized, from dancing with the stars, to Manwhore, to Zigtech ads, to running naked in Reeboks, to launching OCNN, to endless twittering. There's not much time left for actual football it would seem....especially when you show up late. Owens was open all night. I'd say he's earned the right to be called Batman around here....if for no other reason than his somewhat suprising ability in the short passing game and his willingness to block in the running game. The long stuff will always get more attention, but I'm impressed by Owens willingness to do the little things. As has been noted, the Skin Zeppelin went up in flames. In his defense, he had, what, two practices? Nice wordplay....although I might have attempted to work "Oh the humanity" into the conversation. Then again, how cliche would that have been? As for Smith, the lack of practice time has been noted by all even though it wasn't needed. But that said, Smith does indeed look like a player who will now need to practice and play his way into shape, I'm guessing a month at minimum. Not to mention the greater chance of injury that comes with it all. And almost as troubling, any delay means more and more of Roland, who IMHO was just as awful, but in a different way. And that's small comfort, ehh?I thought Reggie Kelly was slipping back in '08. Now I'm sure of it. On one rushing attempt he was driven 9 yards behind the LOS. To be fair I remind myself that may have been by design, thereby allowing a defender to run himself out of the play, but it didn't look like it. And on numerous other rushing attempts behind Kelly's blocks there was no push....prompting me to repeat my earlier remark about Daniel Coats looking better. In fact, much better....since Coats isn't dropping any balls so far. Gresham has monster potential. Needs to pick up his pass protection. Run blocking too. By design or accident the Eagle game seemed to focus on testing Gresham's blocking ability and the results were mixed. Positive in the sense that it was far more hit than miss. Negative in the sense that the misses were mostly mental errors and poor technique. In short, it isn't just Reggie Kelly who isn't blocking like Reggie Kelly. Lot of people forget that Tank played last season with a bum foot. Last night we got a look at what damage he can wreak when healthy.Geno Atkins, where have you been all my life? I coupled these two to highlite the difference between them. Because while Tank and Atkins are both interior lineman who specialize in backfield penetration...Tank isn't a finisher. Never really has been even when healthy. Granted, he'll blow up plenty of plays but rarely does he get a sack or a stuff. And for just one example, Tank Johnson simply doesn't make the drag down sack that Atkins got on Vick. Forget about Dez Briscoe.... Churn 'em and burn 'em. If he put his all into football like he does his twitter acount maybe he and Palmer would be on the same page. I just hope Palmer takes what the defense gives him and dosnt force the ball to Chad just to make him happy, thats how stupid interceptions happen. Chad sometimes worries me, stop acting stupid and just play football.

HairOnFire
Chad sez: eat me. Well, let's put 20 seconds on the clock and see how many jokes we can make in this weeks breakdown. Ochocinco cereal? No doubt we're talking about tiny nut clusters awash in a sea of flakes. Plus, a tiny toy tank included in every box! Collect them all. Warning: Ochocinco cereal has no nutritional content whatsoever, contains far too much sugar, and instantly becomes soggy when covered in milk or by cornerbacks. Do not eat Ocho Cincos when operating heavy machinery, when swimming, or after qualifying for the playoffs. Most frequent side effects include oily stool, painful rectal itching, and in some cases a fatal dose of the yips.

Those guys could care less what Chad is doing. People make more perception of Chad outside of this building. Which you know, because you’re here. All 40 or 30 of you could go right to his locker and everybody would not even have a second take. It’s just Chad is doing something stupid again and that is what it is going to be.”

COB
Even for Chad, this is remarkable. He barely cares about football as it is, but to shove it in the face of your employer like this almost defies belief. Wait, it's Chad. I do believe it.
