membengal Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Things I would like to see:1. Continued improved pass protection from the O-line, especially against an Eagles team that can bring good pressure.2. I would like to see Andre Smith on the field and playing well with the 2s, and hope that he is on the field with the 1s next week.3. I would like to see better coverage from the DBs and more consistent pressure up front from the 1s.4. More Shipley/Gresham. They're dreamy. Oh, and more Simpson too. I remain intrigued.5. More health.
membengal Posted August 20, 2010 Author Report Posted August 20, 2010 Mods:Can you edit the title? I mistakenly hit "2" instead of "3" key.Thanks.

More health.Like to see yards and points on the first offensive series (is that too much to ask???). After that -- no injuries, no injuries, no injuries. Incidentally, I saw a line in a HobNob article today about ST's that seemed to suggest that Bernard Scott will take some ST coverage duties. Unless I read it wrong, are they high? WTF - why would they do that? I mean, maybe Johnson, but not the second RB.I found the quote --PUNT COVERAGE: The gunners work against Jackson could go a long way in deciding the last roster spot or two in the secondary. If wide receiver Maurice Purify (tendinitis) can’t go for the second straight game, that hurts him because he had been all over the place against Dallas. Cornerback Brandon Ghee (hamstring) is another guy that has looked pretty good covering and might not go, but he’s probably pretty safe as a third-round pick. But guys like cornerbacks Rico Murray and David Jones and safety Kyries Hebert are grinding for a spot and they’ll get their shot at Jackson. Running back Bernard Scott, another roster lock, is also going to cover some. Edited August 20, 2010 by BengalByTheBay
volcom69 Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Would love to see the offense come out and continue to gel, and would love to see a quick score.Offense line want to see good push and open holes for running backs to run through, and some great pass protection. I want to see Andre Smith look sharpe out there.I think tonight will be a good test for this defense i think we will tell if they take a step forward or backwards. I wanna see good pass rush, and much better coverage. Everyone in the game come out healthy and ready for the next one. Sure there are a ton more i want to see just cant think at the moment
Kazkal Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 -I'd like to see Andre Play for atleast 2 quarters-I'd like to see a Improved Passrush from someone besides Geno & MJ-I'd like to see Better Oline play then Denver (which was bettter then cowboys-I'd like to see Jordan Palmer Take 2nd team reps-I'd like to see Leon not get burned or flagged this week (though one of last weeks flags was BS)
HairOnFire Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 I'm not that worried or even interested in how the Bengals play as a team. Nor do I care all that much about how certain units perform. And no, I couldn't care less whether they win or lose a fake game. Preseason is about judging individual players. Or trying to accelerate a new players ability to produce quickly. So on offense keep feeding the beasts, even to the point of forcing the ball to newer weapons like Gresham, Owens, Shipley, and yeah....Simpson. On defense, the same things goes despite my feelings that the scheme will be dumbed down so that they don't show too much. Last, I'd like to see Rayner put a death grip on the kicking battle. Nothing personal mind you, but I want nothing to do with a place kicker who can't stay healthy. (There's no backup.)
volcom69 Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Looks like Odom is out this game, i wonder if knee is hurting him or if he is just resting it. He was one i wanted to see because i didnt think he was getting much push so far. Looks like Frostee and Fanane is starting so not sure what we will see as far as pass rush with those guys.
wpeldios Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 What I would like to see, 1)the game, stupid blackout
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Reporting in from my brother's house here in Baltimore...it's in glorious HD. Sorry, locals.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 yep i get to see the game also, but from what it looks like it looked pretty empty
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Gresham active with some good blocks on these first few plays.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Pre snap penalties suck, but didnt get it done on 3rd down.
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 One first down, and then the drive stall on a 3rd and 6 missed pass. Wouldn't have matterd because there was a penalty on Roland that was decline for not lining up on the line of scrimmage.Good punt and Eagles will take over on their 10 after a holding call.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Ok so lets see what the defense can do here
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Palmer was about to get sacked in addition to the pre-snap penalty. Roland was getting man-handled.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Still have not see Palmer air it out yet. I would love to see him do that
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Now there was some good push from the d-line great job defense there
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Great first series of the Bengals D. Good pressure on all three plays, Kolb was hit twice on the release, and Eagles went three and out.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Man come on stop with the stupid penalties so stupid
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Great first series of the Bengals D. Good pressure on all three plays, Kolb was hit twice on the release, and Eagles went three and out.Yeah a lot better looking than last week. Not sure how Kolb completed that 9 yard pass on 3rd down, impressive.
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Seven yard run for Bengson, good. False start on Benson on next play, bad. First down pass to Benson, good.
volcom69 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 I swear though if anything is going to hurt the bengals its going to be stupid penalties i hope they find a way to stop themBenson with a huge run with a huge hit wow
membengal Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Holy moley, for all worried about lack of play action, I just got faked thinking Palmer still had the ball when he had handed to Benson, and Benson mowed for 12 yards. Nice. The Palmer got pressure and threw a pick. Not sure the pressure forced the pick. Not a good decision, maybe.
