BengalPimp
Chads a joke, i guess if he gets shut down by all the good cornerbacks we can always use his tv shows as an excuse. What a joke!!!!Hell yeah he's a joke. I mean, the dude only scored 9 TD's last year, and broke 1,000 yds for the 7th time in the past 8 seasons, while making his 6th Pro Bowl....What a F'n Joke he is....You claim he gets shut down by all the good corners (I only saw Revis who shuts everyone down) Chad is usually doubled, not left in single coverage very often. What does that say about the rest of the WR corps that got shut down by the teams' 2nd and 3rd CB's in single coverage????? Yup, Chad's the joke. What a joke!!!!Take a look at this clip from May 17th. The dude is cut up. He's lean, and ripped, his cardio is probably the best its been in years. Looks like he's been puttin in work. You act like he's been sitting on his a$$ eating cheeseburgers and playing video games.[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89UMzUTEJQ8
jjakq27
He's not the grinch....not generally amazing, duh.... it's just OTA's....he's ripped....whatever. The last I saw he was still lost and still looking for that first playoff win and a way off of Revis Island after being owned in back to back games.I like Chad but he needs to be here and cut the crap. I don't want to hear about "fatigue" or not being on the same page with Carson come November.

Check yourself.I know, I know, but you're missing the point. They reportedly train for 6-10 hours a day, several days a week. That's got to be some good Cardio (instead of something like a treadmill). Also, it should only help with his flexibility, and quite a few NFL players have taken dancing (even Ballet) to become agile/nimble. What I was getting at was, at least he was doing some sort of exercise in the offseason, as opposed to sitting at home eating twinkies playing XBOX 360, like I'm sure many guys do.Chad is one guy you don't have to worry about working himself into game shape, so what's the big deal? TJJackson
Chad is one guy you don't have to worry about working himself into game shapewell, there was that surgery he should have had right after the season a couple years or so back, waited til almsot camp to do it, yeah, that put him in great shape, let me tell yaso what's the big deal? One wordrepsno....wait....ok......timingno....wait....ok......camaraderieno....wait....ok......teamno....wait....ok......dutyno....wait....*sigh*Sorry, it's too important for too many reasons for just a single word to do. jjakq27
He was 20th in total yards and 26 in receptions last year. Hardly the stuff legends are made of.I would just like to see him for once completely focus on his craft and quit fkn around with all of these side projects regardless of the so called benefits. Be a pro...be a leader...be there for your teammates.

HairOnFire
John Thornton took a quick sniff of the Bengals stupidly deep WR corp and speculated the Bengals will eventually attempt to trade one or two. What Thornton didn't say, but I will, is that any trade talk should begin and end with Chad. Because not only is Chad the most tradable, and would net the most in return value, but damnit....it's time.

My bad.Correct me if I'm wrong (do i even need to tell you that?) but last year Training Camp ran from July 31st through Aug 17th. Since they play an extra preseason game (Hall Of Fame Game) they will probably start a week earlier, so what has he really missed? You comment about Comaraderie is ridiculous, as he already has good relations with everybody except the rookies and the few new additions, and with his personality, it won't take long to bond. As for the timing and reps, he's had the same QB and Offensive Coordinator for the past what? 7 years at least? I don't think that will be a problem. If I were you, I'd be more concerned with getting the rookies signed, and in on time, as they need the repetitions much more than Chad. bwillycuse
any [WR] trade talk should begin and end with Chad100% agreed.Well they arent trading Bryant. They could trade Caldwell but not getting a top 5 round pick for him.Matt Jones - Not tradeable until after training camp. Value wont be there though.Cosby? - no valueRookies? - nopeSimpson? - lolPurify? - Jones? - Could get a 13th rd pick.Umm only possibilities would be Chad or Caldwell.I dont see a trade - Thornton is very rarely right.Trade Chad? - Then taht opens the door for TO.If Chad gets traded I think we then lack experience at WR creating more question marks. You know what you have in Chad. Caldwell replacing him is a step down.I say a 2-3% chance of Chad being traded.

I know alot of you dont care but it is key that he's on this team, as much as i like matt jones... He's no chad, and no other reciever except simpson can take his place and simpson is only a preseason warrior IMO

Cosby has very little reicever value and punt return specialists dont go for much at all these days, yes he's a great punt returner and hard worker,.. But if lendale white was gone for a 5th,.. And adam carakker... Cosby cant be worth too much...
HairOnFire
Umm only possibilities would be Chad or Caldwell. And like you said, trading Caldwell get's you nothing in return. So in the end, it's trade Chad or trade nobody, right?I dont see a trade - Thornton is very rarely right. Thornton's just trying to put lipstick on a pig by discussing the remote possibility of getting something in trade return rather than admitting how the Bengals will officially get nothing in return for all of the past draft picks burned on WR's. Trade Chad? - Then that opens the door for TO. I strongly disagree, but in theory it should open up the door for Jerome Simpson, who was drafted to replace Chad and apparently looks great this spring, which would be normally be considered great news. Instead, everything I hear and read says Simpson's performance now means nothing....which tells you all you need to know about burning and churning. I say a 2-3% chance of Chad being traded. Sounds about right. That said, I'd do it....in a heartbeat.

Go head and enlighten me. I like Quan but he has very little trade value.your funnyTo Hair - Yeah - If Simpson finds 'it' then awesome. Im not holding my breath though.Only real trade value is Chad and itll only get us a second or something like that. He's stuck here. For good or for worse. I also want to see what Bryant brings to the table on gameday. Bryant could be our No.1.

Looks like they are gearing up for next year without Chad. Also apparently Coach Marv had some thinly veiled opinions about C85 saying that basically when things don't go his way "he'll have no one else to blame but himself". I can't find the actual quote but I'm certain it will surface sometime in the next day or two.

Yeah, why wait for a receiver to actually develope when it's so easy to just draft another one and start all over again?
