OFFICIAL 2010 BENGALSZONE MOCK DRAFT

Sorry George, but we are moving along here:

With the 22nd pick in the NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select:

Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas

The Patriots have a serious need for an OLB and I would think they would almost sh*t themselves to find Kindle sitting here at #22. He's rated at right about this spot and represents the 2nd rated OLB. The Patriots have other needs, but once again, I think their largest need is at the OLB spot and this pick simply makes to much sense for them to pass on.

With the 23rd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers select Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland.

Green Bay can't get to the podium fast enough to make this pick. Their offensive line is their weakest point, and Campbell is a top-10-caliber pick. Aaron Rodgers cheers.

With the 24nd pick in the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select:

CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson

In all likelihood, somebody with a need at runningback would have traded up to snag Spiller, but since it is a no trade mock and both of the top corners are gone, the value was just too good for the Eagles to pass. I was thinking Sean Weatherspoon, but Spiller will give the Eagles a one-two punch out of the backfield with McCoy, and they make sure Kolb has a running game to rely on all season.

With the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Baltimore Ravens select Patrick Robinson, Cornerback, Florida State.

A cursory look at the Ravens defensive stats might lead one to believe they are set at corner. They finished 8th in the NFL in average passing yards allowed per game.

But according to "COB's In-Depth Analysis of the Ravens Defense," published just this morning, available only in my cerebral cortex, the Ravens are screwed at corner because both Lardarius Webb and Fabian Washington are hurt and might not be ready by the start of the season. Additionaly, Washington is a restricted free agent and could be gone after this year.

So Robinson has fallen to them. He was considered a top 15 pick by Russ Lande, the second sports writer guy that came up when I typed "2010 NFL draft cornerbacks" into Google. Russ would say getting him at 25 is good value!

The Ravens are probably rightly concerned about Robinson's character. With the addition of Donte Stallworth, this once proud franchise now only has two players on it who have actually killed another human being. And Robinson shows up with a measly 4 game suspension for being involved in Florida State's academic cheating scandal.

Cheating on a few tests? That just won't get it done as far as the Ravens are concerned. They'll probably mentor him, bring him along slowly, like having him kill small animals in the parking lot during training camp, that sort of stuff. Eventually he'll be a real raven, looking to lateral the ball like about 5 times anytime he gets an interception, clutching and grabbing receivers 20 yards downfield, and drunkenly running over or stabbing various citizens whenever he feels like it.

Go Ravens!

With the 26th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals take Sean Witherspoon - LB from Missouri.

The Cards have serious defensive concerns after giving up 95 points in their final two games in the 2009 season, and really struggled stopping the run.

With the 27th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, The Dallas Cowboys select:

From Penn State, Defensive End, Jared Odrick.

Dallas plays a 3-4, and Odrick can play the 3 tech, and the 5 tech, and has among the best motors in this years draft. With many NFC East teams using a west coast offense, Odrick can be used quickly as a rush specialist in the 3-4 to collapse the pocket and force QB's to scramble.

With needs on the offensive line, Dallas could have gone with lesser OT's but the best value here is Odrick on the defensive side.

With the 28th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers take Ryan Mathews, RB from California.

With Tomlinson gone, and Sproles not ideal for all situations, Mathews would be a good fit here. Mathews led the nation in rushing in high school and college, but NFL scouts seemed to remain skeptical until he dazzled them at the combine, where his best time over 40 yards was 4.37 seconds. He is a decisive, strong, cut-and-go runner who uses exceptional leg and body strength to run through most tackles. He also is an effective blocker on passes and in space and has soft, reliable hands as a receiver.

With the 29th selection in the 2010 NFL Draft the New York Jets select Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech.

Yes I am aware that the Jets traded for Santonio Holmes but here is the situation, both Holmes and Edwards are unrestricted free agents next year and there are no guarantees that either will resign. The impact of this will not be this year but will be next year and lets face it the Jets are pretty complete.

I had targeted Iupati, Pouncey, Weatherspoon, Mays, Odrick, Thomas and I considered Gresham and Brian Price but Keller is young and a great TE going into his prime, WR was the greater need.

With the 30th Selection in the NFL draft the Vikings choose!

Defensive Tackle Terrence Cody Alabama

Reason why the Vikings have had such a dominating Defense for the past 5 years has been their Defensive Tackles,Pat Williams is getting up there in years so their going to need his replacement ready to go....

Plus improving rotation that way Pat will play longer because he doesn't have to play as many snaps....I think Like Andre Cody gets some hate because of his weight but the guy produced was good at what he did...

I was tempted to take take Tebow I think giving him a year or two to learn behind Favre would be a good situation for him.

With the 31st pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select:

Charles Brown, OT, USC.

At this point Brown provides relatively good value and one can never have too many good lineman to protect the NFL's most important player. He is also strong and has the ability to get on the outside in the run game. The Colts are in dire need of a solid running game and short yardage package, and Brown will be able to help this aspect of their very potent offense.

I had alot of people targeted with this pick. Unfortunately I watched them all come off the board. Odrick and Witherspoon would ave been my top choices.

Looking at how everything fell, With the 32nd pick the person representing the New Orleans Saints selects:

Jerry Hughes OLB TCU

The saints have a few pretty blatant needs, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. They could go Safety, OLB, DT, or DE with this pick, and they really need some pass rush help. After taking in the value of who all was left, I decided Hughes was the best value, and a huge upgrade over Scott Shanle and Troy Evans who are the current OLBs, and would upgrade the pass rush immensely. Though probably best suited as a 3-4 backer, he can fill a roll similar to what David Pollack was doing here, and maybe even put his hand down on some passing situations. I also looked at Everson Griffen with this pick.
