COB
Congratualtion Marvin! He deserves it, and I hope all of Bengaldom is thrilled for this guy. Where we were before he got here, and where we are now, that contrast tells me all I need to know about Marvin Lewis as a coach.
BlainThePain
He had a good year, but the best, I dont see it.Its based on the regular season only, and I think dealing with Zimmer's wife and Chris Henry is what garnered a lot of his votes. SupaBran
Congrats Marvin! A well deserved award. What makes this more satisfying is that Marvin put his foot down to MB going back as far as the draft to demand more control of this team b/c he knows what wins in this league. I will admit that I was surprised he won...not b/c I didn't think he deserved it just, I just thought they would give it to someone else like they always do
JoePong
The first coach in 40 years to lead his team to a division title without the help of a single Pro Bowl player. Marvin is a miracle worker! Well deserved.
BengalszoneBilly
I hope he gets the award next year too and actually leads the team to some playoff wins. Congrats Marvin.

firemarvinNOW
Yes before he got here we hadnt won a playoff game in 12 or 13 years. but in the 7 years hes been here we have won 0 playoff games. I dont think thats a big change. Anywhere else he would have been fired. When did Mike give him more control? I guess im an idiot I dont think losing more than you win is a great accomplishment. He is an average coach, and the real pathetic thing is everybody says will its better than before he was here. To me better isnt good enough, I want to be a Super Bowl contender. Hell to me we didnt win the division, to my way of thinking the Divisional playoff are this weeken, the ravens are playing we are not!!!! So who had the better season the ravens or the bengals? Have fun in Baltimore!Couldn't be happier to see Marvin get the award. From everything I've seen this season, he's deserving.

Maybe, but this isn't for his entire body of work and can you or anyone else say that any other coach could have done the job Marvin did this year with all the other stuff going on ?? So who had the better season the ravens or the bengals?Change your name to "Fire the AP Coach of the Year Now"Of course, you'd look pretty stupid. I mean, who would call for the head of a coach who jjust received an award recognizing him as having done the best job of the 32 head coaches in the NFL. First out of 32. Who would be ignorant enough to want that guy fired?
ArmyBengal
Can someone explain to me why it's so hard to understand the SIMPLE FACT this is an award for THIS ONE season ??No one is saying he's the coach of the decade here. I mean really, what the hell is wrong with some of you ??No thought to the loss the team suffered through the season ??No thought to sweeping the division for the first time in franchise history ??Would it have been nice to be watching the Bengals this weekend ?? Sure, noone is saying that it wouldn't, but d*mn....
Kazkal
He had a good year, but the best, I dont see it.4-11-1 Previous year,Works with someone who is considered one of the worst owners in the NFL with a team which was formally known for it's misfits.I'd say Zimmer Deserves it but headcoaches only. wpeldios
Congratulations to Marvin for his accomplishments this year. Also, to anyone wanting a coach who wins more than he loses. 56-55-1. Just saying.
cincy9275
the way the bengals fell apart down they stretch, crawled in to the playoffs. i don't see how he earned this award. i guess when your so bad for so long. the slightest bit of success get awarded. regardless of how average it was. i just can't help to think that if marv finsihed this way for a perennial winner. that marvin more than likely would be unemployed. volcom69
Congrats to Marvin, this was a tough year, and i thought he held the players toghter.I like Marvin, but he still has alot of issues that i hope he corrects for himself. Lets hope next year is an even better year, and they have a great offseason.

Marvin inherited what was quite possibly the worst franchise in professional sports, and he's gotten them to the playoffs twice. Do you really think Marvin's so bad that he would run the Colts into the ground? Or do you think that other coaches are so god-like that they would have gotten the Bengals significantly further than Marvin did? Especially considering the injuries they suffered and the tragedies they've had to endure...Things have to be taken in context. Why are people so determined to play the "what if" game rather than focus on reality.I know this is a difficult concept, but can't we at least try? You'd think that after the preseason predictions I saw around this place (.500 at BEST), that people would be happier than this with the season we've had. Is this a good time to revive the "worst fans in the NFL" discussion?

Is this a good time to revive the "worst fans in the NFL" discussion?I am in no ways trying to put Lewis down, I just dont see his season as the best coaching job this year. Saints, Chargers, Vikings or even Colts coaches are probably more deserving of this award this season. Either way I'm still happy to have a coach that can actually win the AFCN and take the team to the playoffs more often than Haley's comet appears.
