JoePong
Are you kidding me????This is getting seriously ridiculous!I was partly joking when I started a thread a few weeks ago saying this offense is totally incapable of scoring more than 17 points against anyone. We have played 12 games. In 10 of the 12 games, our offense has failed to score more than 17 points. That is pretty much the definiton of ineptitude. Is this the worst bengals offense you have ever seen? HoosierCat
I was partly joking when I started a thread a few weeks ago saying this offense is totally incapable of scoring more than 17 points against anyone.Actually, you said they couldn't score more than 17 against non-AFCN AFC opponents. So, basically, this whole thread is a nonsequiter, right?
101Airborne
Yeah the season is shot. It's terrible how we don't blow every team out by 40 points a game. Pack it in boys, 9-3 is no different than 3-9 if you aren't scoring on every drive.
volcom69
This is not the worst offense i have seen, but there are many many concerns! Against one of the worst defenses in the league they cant manage to do much at all. Palmer does not look himself, and im not sure if its him or the recievers. What worries me is what happens when they face a team they cant run on, and they have to pass can they do it? Once again i dont know its just because they play to the level of there compition or what, but i would love to see this team get its offense going. I said if they came out against detroit and passed great i would not be worried, but i still am worried. They played great defense, but they cant win every game for you.I guess next week we will see how they play agaisnt better compition. Hoosier, please don't use words like "nonsequiter".Pong is the guy who posts things that, observationally, are the equivalent of saying water is wet, fire is hot, scoring more points helps you win and you need to pass AND run.Such vocabulary will only confound and confuse our obtuse forum-mate.Here is again, trolling for anus.TrollPong, this is not the worst Bengals offense I have ever seen. However, given your gross and utter lack of historical perspective, it may the worst Bengals offense YOU'VE seen.

HoosierCat
This is not the worst offense i have seen, but there are many many concerns! On that, less frantic tone, I agree. Settling for field goals in the red zone, drive-killing penalties, dropped passes, failure to take advantage of multiple good field positions, yeah, we pretty much saw it all today. As I've been saying all season, it's all fixable stuff. The trouble is, the Bengals seem to be having problems fixing it.Oh, well. Four more games to work on it before the playoffs start.
kevnz
Maybe I missed the memo that said teams actually had to beat the other teams by something other than one point?Maybe the NFL gives out style points or something? No?Oh well, then I don't give a rat's ass if they go a whole damn game without scoring a TD on offense if they win. They all count the same. Unfortunately, not really.Let me turn it over to John Thornton.ut I am still scratching my head…..what the heck has happened to the Bengal offense?????? It was way worse in person than it looked on TV the last few weeks. The Lions did what other teams will do from here on out, they focused on the run and dared the Bengals to pass. The Bengals have trouble completing passes even when they are wide open. The running game is still good, but they won’t be able to run against good defenses, AND extra men in the box. Something has to be changed. IMHO, yup.

HoosierCat
F**k John Thornton and the lame ass horse he rode in on.Fine. I'll turn it over to Chris Crocker.“I just hope when we need ‘em, the offense is there,’’ safety Chris Crocker said. “We’re not disappointed in them by any means. We’ve got a $100 million quarterback, Ced is running the ball as good as anybody, we have two wide receivers who’ve been to the Pro Bowl. In the big picture, we’re right where we want to be.“When we hit the postseason, I hope they’ll be clicking.’’
Stripes
Pong's idiocy is well documented, but I'm honestly baffled. The offense ranks towards the middle of the league in scoring.

membengal
Big picture? BIG picture? It looks like they will make the playoffs. Big picture.Coming from where they were a year ago, that is massive.Soooooo...they are not clicking offensively. Boo f**kin' who. Baby steps. Or in this case, great big huge giant steps. From 4-11-1 a year ago, looking at what appears to be at least 10-6, and perhaps 11-5 or better. Are they a Super Bowl team? Probably not. But it looks like they will get to play to find out. That's soooooooooooo much better than I thought heading into this season. And I am sure that is the case for JoeWrong as well. Which is why I am finding this level of whine particularly offensive. Kazkal
But Joe! If we would have scored 7 offensive touchdowns you would still complain because it wasn't vs a AFC team!Hey if we score one offensive touchdown per game over the next 2 weeks and win I'll be happy vs crying because Carson is killing me in fantasy football...Wait I didn't draft him I went with cutler!Pong's idiocy is well documented, but I'm honestly baffled. The offense ranks towards the middle of the league in scoring. Probably be 5 spots higher if we didn't have Coats >_<,Roland can catch as good as this guy can there is simply no reason to have him waste a roster spot. This is way better than I thought. And I'm having a great time on the ride.Which is why I'm not happy with a "boo f**king hoo" attitude.I can taste the playoffs. I can taste the Super Bowl. I can taste the Lombardi. I was there in 82, I was there in 88, I have waited my whole life and watched them get there and lose twice, and Im not settling. Not after where they are now. I'm not willing to wait another year, even though, intellectually, I tell myself they aren't good enough.Go ahead. Call me Veruca Salt. I want it now. membengal
Well, I can't taste Super Bowl, mostly because they seem flawed on offense, for whatever reason. But, even with that, they are 9-3. Which is mind-boggling. So, yeah, I will sit back and hope whatever is amiss gets fixed, but if it doesn't? It has still been a fun ride, and way beyond my 7-9 expectations. Bottom line, this team will go as far as the D will carry them, which is an interesting formula. I worry that won't be as far as it might otherwise because injuries are piling up, but, hey, yaneverknow.

And man, it's like pulling teeth to get across the goal line with this team. Even Sideshow Bob, in that Daugherty pieced I referenced earlier, owns up to doubts about his playcalling. But trick one is to put yourself in position to play a 17th game, something this team has been AWFUL at doing. They've figured that out, it would appear, assuming they can find one more win or so in the next four. So, trick two is making adjustments to gameplan and approach is need be as season two approaches. That is something fairly new. I am hoping they have something up their sleeve for Minny offensively. Part of me hopes that they have held some stuff back these last three weeks, in the why-show-it-if-you-do-not-have-to theory. They may have a little something up their sleeve for the Vikings and Chargers. I hope they do.I am looking forward to finding out. This is soooo much better than the alternative. And, by the way, good heads up on stillers.com from the game thread. They are in three-mile-island meltdown over there./>http://forums.stillers.com/search.php?search_id=active_topics
