AGrizzlyBaer
Just a piss poor showing. They had many a chance to put that one away, and you miss cues in the redzone and turnovers killed them. Way to go Marvin! Bengals have yet to win in Oakland. UK Bengal
I hate to say it but we cost ourselves that game leaving too many points on the field.one of the worst called games by brat ever hes been good recently but now he pulls out a shocker passing from the 3 yard line when you have just picked up Larry johnson give him the rock and let him take it in its not that f**king hard.caldwell should go hide somewhere and not come out until next sundaythe defence letting them convert a 4th down was poorI'm highly pissed about this and there is no way in hell we are a superbowl team let alone a playoff game winner. membengal
Just too many mistakes. Worst part is knowing that they handed that game away on every level. Unreal.

cincyhokie
The truth is that this team is not used to winning on a regular basis yet. They aren't that experienced. I had this gut feeling that they would lose one of the 3 against the "easy" teams. It's almost like they have to have something to motivate them. Well, here it is. They'll probably still win the AFCN and win the next 4 or 5 out of 6. The problem is that always needing some kind of motivation to overcome or succeed will eventually catch up with them and in the playoffs when they are expected to win it's going to be tough.Let's see if they can add this to another of their learning lessons. I think they can. This is a young improving good team. You're going to have games like these, let's see how they react to a hard loss again. HoosierCat
On the one hand, I can't say I'm that surprised. I expected that they would drop one of these "cupcake" games. It happens to every team (see Pittsburgh v. KC today). The Bengals are still 7-3, still in control of their playoff destiny -- in short, it's OK.Now, that said, I don't like the way they lost this game, and I definitely don't like how they blew an opportunity to extend their lead in the division. They blew it today, big time, and they looked like they blew it because they didn't get "up " for Oakland. A big chunk of blame has to go to the coaching staff. Brat's offensive plan was too clever by half, and Zim didn't dial up any pressure. And Marvin didn't shake things up.Outplayed. Outcoached. Outscored. It's a long flight back to Cincy. I hope the Bengals enjoy chewing that over all the way home.

cincy9275
well there goes all the respect the bengals earned last week. now we are going to have to here how this team is a overated joke and not a real contender. i would like to thank caldwell for his part. shayne keep it up nothing like a missed 37 to help thier cause. oo fat ass j johnson, every time this fat ass is called on to make a play he fails. i would have liked to seen larry johnson on some of the goalline carries. then i would also like to thank this team for not showing up to play and getting beat by a joke of a team. don't give me this well they, they are s**t and we played down to their level. let them stay in the game by not calling better plays in the redzone or even f**king throwing chad the ball one time down there. this is a embarrassment and a huge black eye on this team. lucky for us the f**king steeler lost today. membengal
I see the over-reactons coming, but it boils down to this, they made too many mistakes. Coaching, executing, playing, ball security, all of it. Just too many mistakes. Not sexy, I know, but there it is. You do that, you lose.I don't know that taking a larger meaning from the loss makes much sense. Have to win the next two at home, and then it will be bunched underwear time, as 9-4 (if they get there) will be tough with roadies at Minny and San Diego.Biggest gut punch here is the lost opportunity. Stunned at how they let it get away.
volcom69
Maybe the Bengals were just alittle to cocky, well thats the way the played, soft! Yep i wonder who these Bengals are, can play with the great teams but fail to play agaisnt the teams they should beat! Next week maybe Brady Quinn will look like Dan Marino. I dont understand this team, could have made things harder for the AFCN, but didnt. Lets hope they learn how to play the bad teams otherwise the playoffs will be a reach and the North will also. I so mad right now!!!!!
Kazkal
With this loss I will go on record now Bengals beat Vikings,Chargers & Jets lol we seem to only lose games were supposed to win.
Stripes
The loss obviously sucks, and I fear the ultimate cost will be a much more difficult road to a first round playoff bye. We didn't lose ground in the division thankfully, and are still tied with San Diego and New England. It's hard to imagine the Bengals winning the San Diego game after this though. volcom69
This team always seems to quite after scoring a couple of touchdowns. Its like they go into this stall mode and cant get out of it! I dont get it, the offense has all the talent in the world and its like there afraid to be good. I think they may have been good in 2 games this year, all the other ones they seem to stall and cant get back on track.
SupaBran
Here's a thought...Buck the Fengals!!! You're winning 14-0 in the first quarter and a half and you lose 17-20. Awesome, way to lose in a way only you can! I can't even dig my teeth into one thing and just bitch the s**t outta of it! We lost in so many ways. This offense is soooo f**kin terrible. Carson is soooo overpaid. He got outplayed by f**king Bruce Gradkowski...for the second time! The defense plays well all game and when we need the stop to win the game, you let Bruce Gradkowski play you like a gawd damn violin. That was one of the worst called games by Brat and he has a laundry list of them. Hey Marvin? f**k you. Why bring in LJ if you are not going to run him? 2 f**king carries? The only bright spot all day was how good Bernard Scott looks and proves how good our last draft was, but I thought LJ was brought here to run for an absent CedBen.P.S. I don't give a s**t if you were a Gator Caldwell, you are a piece of s**t return man and should hide under a gawd damn rock b/c if I saw you in public, I would f**kin strangle you. Ball security is your number one responsibility and you f**ked it up!Was that enough "over reaction" membengal? You f**ked up a beautiful opportunity Bengals... volcom69
i am literally sick to my stomach after this game. this is the reason why this team can't get any respect. They dont derserve any respect, they can go and beat all the steelers in this world, but when you have the chance to beat a team that is not really good at this time, then you find a way to do it. All the good teams do! This team confuses me, and they better find a way to beat the teams the are supposed to.
derekshank
So much for any hope of a #1 seed. At this point, we might as well hope for the Colts to go undefeated. It can only help. I'm guessing that this loss cost the Bengals a first round bye. The Pats will swoop in and steal that 2nd seed. The Bengals may be playing their asses off just for the 3rd seed @SD. The only thing that keeps me from stabbing my own eyes out is that the Steelers lost to KC. They have to be seeing this as a real missed opportunity. I'm just glad I won't have to hear s**t from them about this loss, because they are just as embarrassed.

She cursed and ranted all the way home from the sports bar.I am certainly not happy about the way we played today...the offensive play-calling was atrocious on every level, the defense seemed uninspired, the team as a whole looked lethargic and out-of-sync, and we lost to a bad team in a game that we should have won by 21. But the Steelers lost and stayed a game back in the AFC North, we have two straight home games against teams that have a combined record of 3-17, and we learned that games like this will bite us in the ass if we take them for granted. So all is not lost...but it always sucks to lose.
cincy9275
i don't know how you take this game. is it just a bad game and we recover next week or is this team starting to struggle after the good start? i just don't see how our play can drop that far of from last week. i mean on all sides of the ball we made mistake after mistake. my biggest concern with this team at the beginning of the season was the mental mistakes, here we are 11 weeks in to the season and their showing up. that bother me. also i hope marvin and zim just rip this team asses all week! no excuse for the way they played today. cincyhokie
It's time for the offense, not the defense to play completely out of their minds kick ass football the next 2 weeks. The Browns and Lions need to be dominated. Time to show some killer instinct and put these teams away. We're going to smack the sh*t out of the Browns next week. kneepit
I still don't get why they didn't use a fresh LJ down the stretch. The pass to Leonard with 2:20 to go on 3rd and 4 was horrible. Then, the final kickoff...why didn't Caldwell take a knee to conserve time? They would have had 33 seconds and 3 timeouts from the 20.
