kingwilly
/>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/17/bengals-kick-galloways-tires/Galloway cannot catch the ball, that is why NE cut him. He is as fast as the sun is hot, but he might as well have had his hands amputated, given how useless they are for him.
Pidge
Um, why? Too much tinkering, don't over-think this stuff Bengals.
derekshank
I'd be really surprised if anything comes of this. That said, you can't fault them for taking a look. I appreciate the fact that this team appears to be making a real Super Bowl push. If Galloway has anything left in his tank that would be an improvement over Simpson/Purify... hell, why not?Besides, I always liked Galloway, and the Bengals currently have no Buckeye's on the roster. kingwilly
Um, why? Too much tinkering, don't over-think this stuff Bengals.I agree, don't over cook the roster. Why? Perhaps Chad can't go deep. Are we seeing the inevitable slow-down of Chad's top end speed?Let's wait till we see Purify catch a ball before we bring in the anti-dexterous Galloway. HairOnFire
I'm no fan of Mike Doss, but from the article I'd have to say his was the only name I was interested in.
Stripes
Doss is at least a poor man's Roy Williams. Similarly stout against the run and awful in coverage. That smells like Ohalete though.
kingwilly
If they are looking at Doss, they might as well roll McCallister in here for a look. He could be a serviceable cover Safety.

I still say we use Caldwell on a couple of deep routes. I know some have said he doesn't play with 4.3 speed but he does move like stink when needed. His middle of the field routes aren't really done with sprinting speed though or poor old Carson would have a tough time leading the throw for him to catch. They're more about timing.Caldwell did absolutely burn the Ravens secondary once and got behind them easily enough. He was wide open for a long bomb down the middle and a TD run but Carson had already started a throw to an outside guy and missed it. He can jet.The only reason to even look at Galloway is for go routes and deep post routes. nothing else. the only guy who runs those (who is not on the IR) is Chad. Again, I'm not a Mike Doss fan, but he was a Bengal not so very long ago and should know the system well enough to provide a little depth if needed. NJ29
I guess it's an interesting tryout, but I don't see this going anywhere.
membengal
McAllister signing in NO is going to cause a meltdown of epic proportions here in Baltimore. As their secondary problems have mounted, the cries for his return have built (much to the annoyance of local sports talk hosts). Apparently he had the mother of all falling outs with Harbaugh a year ago, not sure of the full story. At any rate, this will be noted, and then some by Ravens fans. In years past that's all we had to live on because we couldn't control the line of scrimmage and were usually playing from behind. I'm much happier where we are now...imposing our will on some very good teams regardless if it's on the road or at home. I'll admit there was the slip up against the Texans, and I can't explain it. That's one loss. The other was a freak play that can't be denied.IMHO this Cincinnati Bengals team now has what it takes to be a real force in the NFL. derekshank
Teams work out players all the time. Stick this one in the "in case of emergency, break glass" file.Agreed. And I'm not sure why people are concerned that the Bengals are "tinkering" with the lineup too much. If they bring in a one trick pony like this, it would be as a #4 on the depth chart. How much can a guy like that hurt the team? The Bengals are just doing their due diligence here to make sure there isn't something better out there than what they are currently fielding. Can't understand why anyone would have a problem with that.

I'm a little concerned about how the locker room will fare with LJ in it, but it seems that he's been well received so far. I just hope it stays that way and that he really is dedicated to resurrecting his career and doing the things he's asked to do.Also, if you bring in Doss or Galloway, who do you cut? walzav29
I would like to see them sign Galloway. We have to start looking to the playoffs, and this season. A team like New England will scheme to stop the Bengals run and underneath stuff. The Bengals will have to be able to go over the top. I love the way the Bengals are making moves to strike while the iron is hot. Let's assume the Bengals make the playoffs and don't win the Superbowl. Zimmer will probably be a head coach next year, the Bengals will have all of the salary demands from the guys that think they're the reason they went to the playoffs, ego's get inflated, it's hard for a team to handle new found success. So bring in Galloway, Johnson and whover else can help us with this playoff run. WHO-DEY!
