not *as* versatile.

DeDe can return punts/kicks as well as block the punts...

-yes he Blocks them, but he has yet to do it in a real game : /

DeDe blocked a punt in a real game a few seasons back, against Arizona. If I remember correctly he ran it in for a TD as well.

Mike Brown sucks

Just wanted to throw that in.

Someone might have forgotten (y'know, like if they were dead or something).

Just checking. Covering the bases. Hasn't been brought up yet, so...

Mike Brown sucks.

GRRRRRR JOE WRONG LOL LOL

the beat goes on - TD johnson/////nope holding

that was a very strong run by James. Wow, so many solid RB's...

Johnson and either DeDe/Leonard will be picked up for sure if they are cut.

yeah, would suck if DeDe goes to Pitt and blocks our Huber punts...karma's a biotch, SoP.

I'm rooting for 3D, don't dislike Leonard, but 3D is more exciting to watch, and adds more value and game-changing plays than Leonard ever will in this division.

But Leonard is a "little things" guy Marvin loves, and is a "safe" choice.

Maybe Brown trumps Marvin on this one, you know how he loves his flashy backs and WR's. I might have to remove my signature pictures if he does on HK's.

Yeah they showed it on the broadcast - vs Arizona in 2007, same deal, block and TD.

I just look at it like they mentioned at fullback what do we need that spot to do? I'd love to see Dede brake for some of those flashy runs durring the regular season but isn't that why Scott is making the roster? for the big play ability? Thats why I tend to lean towards Leonard because seems like Marvin likes to have a Running Back who can Block & Catch the ball hence why Kenny Watson made this team for so many years.

39 attempts for a 7.3 avg.

wow. or as HoF would say : "It's pre-season"

Or it's Pre-season game 4# vs the colts...

Yeah they showed it on the broadcast - vs Arizona in 2007, same deal, block and TD.

My bad thought they said it was in the Preseason too

Better close the thread! Eyes are burning!

One thing to keep in mind is that we whoop Indy's ass every preseason, in equally convincing fashion. The difference this year is that Carson didn't even play, but....

In past he'd only play one series or top of 2...JT pretty much did that job for him hehe.

And they always return the favor in the regular season.

Well good thing we don't face em this year ^_^ unless its in the afc championship game.....bwhahaha

As to the RB battle, here's my question:

How much better is Leonard's blocking compared to the other RBs? Because with our putrid pass protection, you could make a case that we need the possibility of a 3rd down back who can run, catch, but most importantly pick up blitzes. That could be a difference maker.

I do love watching DeDe break long runs, though. I do believe in the end our GM goes with Dorsey, because he's been here.

Well he's the best out of the four we have and he was good enough that they felt they could give Watson his walking papers early,Thats main reason feel he has edge though I always thought 3rd spot would be scott & dede fighting for it.

Ah Pat Sims lined off side on the pick, ah man

Everybody watching on TV could see that. I do not understand how that happens. Don't you learn in Pop Warner how to line up?

Rey puttin on the pressure then a pass interference call, come on crappy call there

I thought that pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage which would have negated the PI call but they never replayed it. Anyone else see it that way?

J. Palmer is always throwing picks, man im not to sure about him as a back-up

He still hasn't learned the skill of "pocket passing". What is it with these college run and shoot guys? He drops back, looks at one read and either chucks it or he runs. If he's the most improved Bengal as Marvin says, how bad must he have been last year?

Problem is that Dorsey and Scott bring similar things to the table, we need a power guy who can get the tough yards and Leonard can do that as well as block and catch, I say Benson, Leonard, Scott with Johnson on the PS and Dorsey catches on somewhere else.

You're *so* 1992. The run and shoot is like, sooooo out. Run-N-Shoot was where you had a QB in the shotgun, 5 WR, and no TE. See, this is the *spread* offense. That's where you have a QB in the shotgun, 5 WR, and no TE. Totally different. ;)

In all seriousness, teams have been making that same mistake since the early 90s when Ware and Klingler busted. First time around, you can forgive teams for drooling over a guy with 70 TD in a year. And it's not about J. Palmer since he's not a top pick. But you really wonder what the 49ers were smoking when they took Alex Smith #1 overall.

Dorsey just made this harder.

C'mon man. It's assumed that a lot of people around here toggle Bengalszone and Youporn... but to admit that you just became more aroused while watching Dorsey? Well, that's just information I don't need.

.... I meant it will be harder to pick between him and Leonard >_< Damn me being bad with words lol.
