COB
Cutting Runnels at 5:30am was stone cold brutal. Guy is still asleep! just a cold move. Seemed low to me. Just yanked the playbooks and told to get his bags for a 7am van ride. Yea, let's just say Jim Lippincott doesn't seem to have a way with people. As soon as Runels opened the door, Lippincott said, "we're putting you on waivers." Then just explains the van at 7 am to take him to the airport. No encouraging words, no pat on the back, nothing to even soften the blow like, "I hate doing this, we'd really hoped we could keep you," nothing. Not even a good morning. Watching how the Chiefs did it, compared to how the Bengals did it, makes me sick. Send Lippincott to charm school or something. Also, Jenny Craig could be worked into the equation somewhere, dude looks downright unhealthy.
BlainThePain
Losing Reggie Kelly was a bigger loss than I expected. It seemed to kill the team morale. Kelly would take the young tightends on the team and work with them before and after practice. It showed him out there with Utecht, Coffman, and Coats all working together while nobody else was on the field. Kelly said he thought of the other tightends on the team as his younger brothers and he was going to do everything he could to make sure they succeed. They started the show by showing mini camps a couple months ago. They showed the weight lifting competition, a three point shooting competition, they let the big men on the team catch punts, and had a tug-of-war competition.Jim Lippincott is the most pear-shaped man I have ever seen in my life.Maurice Purify is mean. When he chilled Roy Williams in the Oklahoma, he kept on pushing him while he was on the ground. It was ferocious looking.Chad admitted that when he tells someone "child please" he is pretty much saying "f**k you".You can tell Carson and Utecht are close. When Utecht was down on the field, Carson was asking around to make sure Utecht's wife and daughter weren't in the stands. The Oklahoma drill was a lot more boring to watch than I thought it would be. I can't believe Hobson makes such a big deal about it every year.
walzav29
This really did expose a lot. The fact that Brown just wants a guy to switch positions is ridiculous, Katie and the contract talk was just silly. I now know why we never have depth and there are always holdouts. They did have some players looking good though. I CAN'T BELIEVE they had to pay for their own stuff at camp. All 3 of these things mentioned does coincide with penny pinchin' and is not a 1st rate organization. Cook looks like a mean dude.

agreen_112
I found the show very entertaining. Being able to see behind the scenes was awesome... The viewing party I hosted at a buddies house was sweet too. There were 10-12 of us sitting around a big screen watching the show in HD. First of all, the Chad Johnson interview was hilarious. He put all of his haters in their places. Child Please, lol. Chad looks to be in the greatest shape of his career... If he is 100% focused, he's money like always but he may be slacking off a bit in practice though. Don't get me wrong the routes he ran were as good as ever and his cuts were sharp as a razor but Carson pulled him off to the side and had a few words with 85. Carson said something close to "We have a lot of work to do. We can not take ONE play off. We have so much to catch up on, we're far behind, we need to give it our all on every play. I'll find you, don't quit on me." Chad agreed. Whitworth is a monster. That dude is probably my favorite player on offense. He really enjoys his job and gives it his all. Whitworth will be a Pro Bowler this season at LT. He's a bulldozer at run blocking. Cutting Runnels at 5:30 am was horrible. But this is a tough game, there's a lot to be done. If you don't have what it takes, you don't make the team. These are grown men, they should be able to handle it. Good luck Runnels. The Oklahoma drill was sick. Roy Williams got OWNED by Purrify. I mean, Purrify drove him back 10 yards into the ground! Roy should be ashamed... I was hoping they would throw Chad in there against Leon Hall but it never happened. The guys were hitting hard. It was definitely the highlight of the show. The T-shirts were cool too.. I want one! My 19 year old friend Ashley got to watch her boyfriend Cedric Benson run a couple balls, get changed in the locker room, and also get into a little scrap on the field. I haven't seen this mentioned on the boards yet but there was a fight at the begining of the show. I know Benson was in on it but I'm not sure who all else was involved. Did anyone catch a name or no. of the fighters? For the first episode, I thought it was pretty good. They will get better and as the episodes go on, the star players will get more time. Rey Rey is incredible, I want to hear more from him. Chase Coffman was getting his ass reamed by the coaches. They were on him like stink on s**t! He must do 100 push ups a practice lol. He needs A LOT of work. He looks skinny too. I'm not so sure about this guy. Losing Reggie Kelly was a HUGE blow. They had the camera right in the face as he heard the news that it would be a 6 month recovery and the he will need surgery ASAP. The trainer explained two times that he would be on the sidelines. Kelly was a mess and you could tell it took everything he had not to outburst into tears. I feel bad for him and the first thing I thought was there is no way Coffman can fill those shoes. Only time will tell. Jeremy Johnson was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.. He was fat, out of breath, and had no strength in his legs. He's a lazy, lacadasic (can't spell) player. Where's the intensity? Where's his drive. Quit eating so much man, you ruining yourself. It's sad. I pray that he overcomes his weight issues and becomes the comeback player of the year and gets to the pro bowl. This episode made you think "How in the hell is he here. There's no way he'll make the team." Coach Marvin was on point. Zimmer, crazy as always. We'll be seeing a lot more of Zimmer. Pumpkin needs to shut her big fat ugly mouth.. No wonder we can't sign anyone. That is one dopey broad. Her father is an even bigger dope. Any problem with this team points straight to that big sack of s**t. He's garbage and the reason we've sucked for so long. Hopefully he's been embarrassed enough now. I wish he would take a big long look in the mirror. There is no reason for him to even open his mouth when it comes to anything to do with on-the-field activities. He should sit and shut up. Other than that, the screening party was a success. We had a blast watching the show. Everyone was all smiles getting to see our Bengals from another perspective. We'll be doing this every Wednesday. I'll put up a couple pictures as soon as they become available.
ArmyBengal
Wow, you can definitely tell that it's all in the eye of the beholder when getting reactions to the show.Agreen, Benson is dating a teenager ?? agreen_112
No snap judgement, just calling it like I see it... It's all common sense stuff man. Yes, he is the boyfriend of my 19 year old girl "friend," no bulls**tin'. I'm 26 and have a girlfriend that just turned 20 so it's really not that big of a deal.. She has pictures, his jersey that he bought for her, and all that man. There's no way she would make this up, she's a good friend of mine. She was texting him through the show.. I will post a picture, I promise. Cedric seems like a really nice guy, he treats her good. I have my doubts that he's faithful but you never know. I care a lot for this girl, she's been a friend of mine for years. Hopefully he doens't break her heart.

ArmyBengal
My concern with Benson dating a 19 year old is simple, while at least she's not 14 or some crazy sh*t, she's not of drinking age either.Hopefully there is no issue there, but that just doesn't sound like a situation I would want to be in IF I were in his position.Anyway, there seems to be one constant through all the replies to this point and that is the front office still sucks.Seriously though, did anyone expect this show to remove what we already thought was the situation ??Sounds like all they did is confirm suspicions of how bad the front office really is.Obviously, I could be off as I didn't watch. Pidge
So you just publicly stated that a bengals player is contributing to the delinquency of a minor? That's nice.Being a little unfair to agreen here I think. Sure, she can't drink because the US, imo, has ass backwards puritanical laws on drinking so in that sense - not kewl. She does, however, possess most privileges of "adult" status, having a beer or putting some money on the horses excepted. It's not like he's snorting charlie of a 15 yr old's tatas. All agreen is suggesting that in private they might enjoy a drink or two as a couple. Maybe a glass of wine with dinner? Deliquency blah blah or just a glass of wine with dinner? For all we know, they aren't anyway. Plus, at 19 yrs old she's most likely way ahead of him in the maturity stakes. HairOnFire
Not much to add. The entire Bengal front office came off about as badly as all of us would have guessed. Brown's opening motivational speech mentioned fighting back, having a successful winning outcome, but never once mentioned the words championship or Super Bowl. I thought he also came off badly when he referred to an injured Ben Utecht as "our guy" rather than mentioning him by name. Finally, the coaches reaction to his suggestion the Bengals move Harrington to TE due to the rash of injuries, something Brown claimed was "something the Patriots might do", was embarrassing. And while Pumpkie's remarks about Smith's holdout were embarrassing, they came nowhere close to the horror that is Jim Lippincott in short pants. For those who missed it, Lippy is best described as a human freak show whose body shape seems to make no sense whatsoever until you imagine it in it's natural state, sitting motionless in a chair for hours and hours. Frankly, Troy Blackburn was the only member of the Bengals front office who showed any energy at all when speaking, and with Mike's daughter Katie showing the same "woe is me" demeanor as her father the entire front office tends to remind the viewer of Abe Simpson and all of his friends at the Springfield retirement home. Which is what we all expected, right?

We'll just say that the coach was cristening up the youngster. I'm not saying Chase is garbage. He's got the talent but from what I can tell he also has a lot to learn... The coaches were riding him pretty hard. We all know he's the future, but can he step up NOW? That's the question. It's a huge step from college to pro.
