cincyhokie
Don't roll over us just yet Pu.sy cats. I like how you always think you will get 2 wins out of us every year. I can't wait to bust your noggin this year, and throw your ass in the back of the division where you belong. Well...usually the Bengals beat the Browns. The last 7 out of 10 games the Bengals have won. Also, when the Bengals win they usually spank the Browns or just embarrass them, i.e. 34-13, 30-0, 14-0. So history suggests that the Bengals will have a better chance of winning both games.
cincyhokie
s**t with Romeo it was like walking right into hell with the #1 Demon guiding us. Mangini is ass spanking this team (which is what we deperately needed) which will help in the long run. You have another RAC w/o a clue. At least you will have a new coach within the next 2 years.Sorry to hijack but you will go 6-11.Typical Browns fan logic. The Browns add a HC and a couple of players with a decent draft and all the fans can see is vast improvement. Didn't you guys make the mistake of seeing the Browns improvements "in a vaccuum" last year. Dude, all teams have improved. Do you want to see a list of the Bengal's improvements compared to the Browns? Also, what did the Browns do to improve that 26th ranked defense? You know...the one that was supposed to take them to the AFCN title last year.
ArmyBengal
Mangina is a sh*t coach who seems to be driving wedge after wedge into your team, but hey whatever. I think you guys are f*cking doomed this year.
Bearcat1975
lol @ a Browns fan trying to talk smack. The Browns Bandwagon is parked right behind the Bengals Bandwagon. "In a van down by the river!"

Let's see...Bengals have shut the Browns out in two of the last three games at Cleveland.....the Bengals beat the Browns in that crucial game towards the end of 2007 that kept Cleveland out of the playoffs..... the Browns also have not beaten a Carson Palmer led team in a game played in Cincinnati as of yet. Its been pretty one sided series here in recent years. Hopefully that good fortune will continue, I will be at the Bengals-Browns game Nov 29th. I'll be attending with a couple of buddies who are Browns fans. Should be a really good time.......

ArmyBengal
Anyway around 9 wins won't help us in the AFCN and maybe not even 10.

ArmyBengal
I see the AFCN getting at least one of the two wildcard spots for the playoffs due to the ease of schedules that exist in this division.I would do backflips to see both wildcards go the the AFCN, but we beat the hell out of each other to much... Carson has played pretty well against them throughout his career, and the defensive should be better than it's been in any point of 6 years in Cincinnati. Due to the intense rivalry/hatred, the Bengals should be able to split against Pittsburgh, although Tomlin is a future HOF coach and better than Cowher (yep, I said it). I think Cedric will surprise some folks, too. I keep thinking back to Rudi breaking the Bengals rushing record in '05 while averaging 91 yards per game on 21 carries per game. If we can get close to that type of production in the running game from Ced, while playing an easier schedule, we should be a 10-win team. With the high number of new players, I don't expect a fast start, but this team could be tough after the quarter point in the season. ArmyBengal
The only hope we have in leapfrogging Baltimore is hoping that age has finally caught up with some on the defense, but that hasn't turned out well in the past, the loss of coaches, and the loss of some players on defense will cost them some games. I honestly think the Ravens will feel the loss of both Scott and Leonard on defense. Yes Leonard, he simply made plays for them last year and was very tough. I'm glad the both of them are no longer a part of the Ravens defense.

In 08' they had 11 wins, 07' they had 5 wins, in 06' they had 13 wins, in 05' they had 6 wins......... going by that pattern they should have a down year this year! In all seriousness, I'm not really all that nervous about Baltimore. Pittsburgh, thats a different story.......I just wish we could win a home game against Pittsburgh. We haven't done that since 2001.

ArmyBengal
Once again, the ease of schedules for both Baltimore and Pittsburgh are what I think will keep them ahead of us in the standings.
Wraith
5-11, 6-11 whatever it takes....Since the Browns have come back into the league they have finished the season with a better record than the Bengals 3 times out of 10 years. The Orange and Brown rhetoric has gotten rather stale, the only team that has been a consistently bad as the Browns have been since 1999 has been the Detroit Lions, and that is all I have to say about that. I'll make a blanket statement that any team who does not in June know who their starting QB is has 0% chance to win unless that team also has a dominating defense, and Cleveland does not have a dominating defense.I think we have a realistic chance to overtake the Ravens, after all they have lost their starting SS, WILB, are starting a rookie RT (who graded out much worse than our rookie RT) and have several key players getting older (Ray Ray, Derrick Mason, Todd Heap). The Ravens still don't have a great secondary and can be beat deep which gives us a great chance to take at least one out of two provided we can keep Palmer healthy. Their offense is still not scaring anybody.Pittsburgh on the other hand....with Holmes stepping into his own and another year in the system for Sweed and Mendenhall. I think Timmons will be an upgrade over Foote. I think Pittsburgh is going be awfully tough to beat, they might be the most well rounded team in the league (and I don't mean their QB's beer belly)

ArmyBengal
Ok, I will revive this one with the NFL live chat that took place with Gil Brandt yesterday and the question and answer provided:Q: Do you believe Ochocinco when he says the Bengals will be in the playoffs?A: Gil Brandt, NFL.com I think the Bengals are going to be a much-improved team. They had more starters lost to injury last year than any other team in the league. With that said, I do think they've got a shot to make it to the playoffs. We had another question in the chat asking who would finish second to Pittsburgh in the AFC North. Just a hunch, but I do think Cincinnati finishes ahead of Baltimore. While I'm not sure I share the opinion that we finish ahead of Baltimore, it's nice to see someone looking at the Bengals as a team that will compete this year. I still think the Steelers are the team to beat in (at least) the Division.

Stripes
The schedule appears favorable, and the offseason has at least felt positive. I don't expect the defense to rank 12th again though, and the offensive line is likely to be a problem again. 8-8 if we catch a few breaks.
