HAPPYJAQ
Looks like the Bengals are offering the 2nd round tender to Rashad Jeanty. Another good move by the squad. Rashad is very good against the run and is developing into one of the leaders on defense. I hope they get Brandon Johnson done, too. B.J. was one of the top LB's in the conference last year in tackles per game after he came in for Rivers and made a lot of big plays last year. I would like to see a Jeanty, Rivers, Johnson lineup at LB next year, with Blackstock and Dhani the top reserves.Long link (or internet dummy):http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/s....cincinnati.com
BengalszoneBilly
What I want to know is who the hell is Ed Block, and why does he warrant giving away some kind of Courage Award?

Ox
In other words, he's not going anywhere. I'm happy with that for what he's produced and where he came from.
ArmyBengal
I like having Jeanty honestly. He's proven to be a solid LB and even if we get some additional help for the LB corps, he would be great depth...

Whur CHad At?
Solid, nothing special. Would like to see us add Vilma via FA and Cushing via draft
Clackwoods
Solid, nothing special. Would like to see us add Vilma via FA and Cushing via draftI would love to see Vilma, but Cushing is overrated. He is going to be second rate in the league! HAPPYJAQ
In bringing back Jeanty and Johnson, I think it's safe to say they're out of the Rey-Rey sweepstakes unless he's still there at #38.

He plays hurt too, does real well on special teams. Since he was a restricted FA, I assumed he'd be back. Vilma would look good beside him, but that is a hookah dream. I haven't even thought about getting Vilma on this team once in the last 2 months. It just won't happen.
Whur CHad At?
Why won't it happen. I see it happening rather easily
TJJackson
Well WCA, the reason is that after signing Jason Brown, Matt Cassel, Albert Haynesworth, Julius Peppers, and Ray Lewis, they simply won't have enough money left to sign Vilma tooSo sorry dude
Whur CHad At?
So your saying Vilma will want a 6 yr. $150 million contract with nearly half guarenteed? Don't think so. We have $28 million in cap room, and I can tell you now we won't sign Brown. Mark it down now.
Baraka
we won't sign cassel because he got franchised and carson palmer is our quarterback, peppers only wants to go to a 3-4 team, we've got pretty good and young dt's so i'd say haynesworth is out, ray is too old and a murderer. besides that would cost a lot of money. Whur CHad At?
I think TJ was being sarcastic. He has was wrong about Channing Crowder in the 2005 draft and has had a beef with me ever since.
HAPPYJAQ
I think that Vilma isn't the same player he was prior to the injury. It's a reason he's about to play for his 3rd team in 3 years. People aren't even discussing him as a highly coveted UFA anymore. Speaking of oldies but goodies at MLB, NFL Network is saying that Ray Lewis has been telling DeMarcus Ware every week since the Pro Bowl that he wants to play in Dallas next year. Getting him out of the division would be sweet! If he does go to Dallas, the Bengals might not ever have to play against a Ray Lewis team again, unless it's in the Super Bowl. Whur CHad At?
Vilma was the only bright spot on that horrible Saints defense last year. The Saints said they are going to pursue him hard in FA but chose not to franchise him. We could get him for a pretty good deal I believe. volcom69
Im not sure the bengals are really going after defense guys in free agency this year. I really hope they go after at least one big name on defense, but Marvin said this year it for the offense. So who knows.
Kazkal
Marvin said Offense in Free Agency gogo drafting defense.
Whur CHad At?
I am fine with offense through FA but we can also get some more beef on D too.
volcom69
I totally agree i want more help on defense, they need more help to get better. Marvin said this year is offense during free agency so who knows if that means they will go after no defense help or what it means.
Baraka
I think TJ was being sarcastic. He has was wrong about Channing Crowder in the 2005 draft and has had a beef with me ever since.as a result of that stupid post i thought he was just a moron, so i would explain it to him in terms he could understand. ShulaSteakhouse
No one will touch him for that compensation.I am doubting anyone would've paid him starter $ either, he's a 3rd down player on a good team.
