Ox Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 At this point, in some sort of sick way, I kind of wish for humors sake this had happened to one of our guys. How long would it take for this to be on the front page of ESPN? Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 29, 2008 Author Report Posted November 29, 2008 At this point, in some sort of sick way, I kind of wish for humors sake this had happened to one of our guys.CINCINNATI (Sportsticker) - Bengals owner Mike Brown accidentally shot himself in the head last evening while cleaning his father's gun at his Indian Hill home. The shot apparently ricochetted around inside Brown's head before exiting. Doctors say approximately 90 percent of Brown's brain was destroyed by the bullet. However, Brown is "awake and responsive" and family members say that the incident will not affect Brown's ability to manage his football team."It's not like they ever put much of an emphasis on brains in the Bengals' front office anyhow," said a source close to the family. "I doubt anyone will notice a difference." Quote

"I doubt anyone will notice a difference."Possessing a fully functional brain is probably considered an expensive, unecessary luxury by Mike Brown. Using said brain as a backstop for an errant bullet would likely be a sign of thriftiness to Mike. Sure, someone who doesn't know the value of a buck could spend upwards of twenty dollars on sandbags to stop bullets, but if you've got this lump of grey matter just sitting around, why not put it to some good use? HoosierCat Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 No surprise, Florio over at PFT has been all over this. He's linked to various stories coming out of NYC. Looks like Plex didn't have a permit for the gun & will surrender to authorities tomorrow. He may be facing a mandatory three-and-a-half year sentence. Quote
