walzav29
Does this mean that Chad and TJ are worse than we hear (it always is worse)? Did the Lion beatdown freak us out? Are we really doubting Palmer because of preseason? How doomed are we here in Bengal land? I feel like we're reeling and it's only 2 games into preseason. walzav29
So we're back into 2002 days? What everyone told Carson Palmer before he was drafted was true? I can't say I disagree, I'm just trying to find a reason to be optimistic.
TippCityRick
Actually I'm not freaked out. Concerned yes, but not freaked out. I'm willing to wait and see how this plays oug.
Dadraftnick
How bad is it ? We got beat by the Loins!!!!!!!!!! The freakin Lions !!!!!The offensive line couldnt pick a blitz to save their life.Hall just got turned and burned at will ---which is nothing new.The new and improved deffense got shredded by John Kitna-- the guy that when on the Bengals would fumble or throw an interception whenever he got any pressure at all. But, we couldnt even get pressure on him-- the lions dont have the best line in football -- even though we made them look like it.The only thing that was a bright spot for the Bengals in the first week was S White bringing the wood , was turned into a pu$$ycat after getting finned for a leagal hit.If the play wasnt bad enough we got a bunch of guys hurt.I cant think of anything good that happened last week. combatbengal
Here is how it will play out. Henry will get into more trouble, the Bengals will get fined and won't be able to resign TJ due to a lack of funds. Chad will go on another trade me rant, Big Willie will retire, oh the teams end the season with a 4-12 record. Yea, that about sums it up. kevinc1129
I think it's pretty damn bad when team ownership gives the head coach a big F U and goes out and signs a player that the coach said he didn't want on his team. That was a huge slap in the face to Marvin Lewis and I'm sure he's embarrassed about it. Why does Mike Brown keep Lewis around if he's not going to listen to him on things like this?Just when you think this team has turned the corner in certain areas, it's back to the same old crap again. So much for "making a statement" by cutting Henry in the first place...there's a reason no other team wasted their time signing him.

volcom69
How do you know Marvin didnt panic when his star recievers on the team really some of the only good things going for him went down how do we know he didnt panic and decided he needed to sign him. Everyone want to blam Brown which you know he had something to do with but how do we know Marvin didnt have anything to do with it. Everyone always seems to want to praise Marvin like hes some savior, but can someone please tell me what has he done latley even in the past 2 seasons that says he so great. I say if the locker room is ok with this if the guys are fine and wont fight or divide the locker room up then hey whatever theres nothing me or anyone else can do to stop it. It is what it is, but i still think Marvin had alot with him coming back here weather people want to believe it or not.
HoosierCat
Everyone want to blam Brown which you know he had something to do with but how do we know Marvin didnt have anything to do with it.To me, the complete lack of comment from Marvin in this whole Henry return speaks volumes. Heck, not even a canned quote in the press release.
volcom69
Well Marvin sure didnt seem to happy at the press confrence so not really sure whats going on now lol. So Marvin did say the Brown wanted to give him another chance so thats what there going to do. Mike always said he believes in giving chances but i wonder how many chances do you get before enough is enough. So i dont i cant change any minds lol so it is what it is and all we can hope for is the best. But i must say Marvin did not seem happy about anything lol. I honestly believe we may need some type of intense 12 step program.

Just wondering if it's a true statement that the signing of Chris Henry went against Marvin's wishes . . . if this is fact, then it means good ol' Mikey is attempting to run this team. Again. Unsucessfully. The only reason I was so for Marvin is that I finally thought Mike Brown gave up trying to be his father and would let someone coach this team that knows football. membengal
Facts:1. Very few people are really "stopping being a fan" over this. If you are a Bengals fan at this point, you know from pain. This isn't remotely close to, say, the Victoria C stuff from 1991. The franchise will go on.2. It looks to me like a stupid decision. That said, IF, somehow, Henry walks the straight and narrow, leads this team to the playoffs, and wins SB MVP, I am guessing that the stories written about "the redeemer" Mike Brown will be the stuff of legends. And I am guessing people will have long since started wearing Henry jerseys. Is that likely? Hells no, but, c'mon, people, let's get real. If it works out, everyone will be happy. If it doesn't? People will be happier. Getting to say "I told you so" is very satisfying. Just ask any number of people on this board.3. In a perverse way, I am interested in how this experiment will work out. I have not really ever seen anything quite like it. Well, except for maybe Steve Howe's seven chances in MLB. But let's pretend we don't know how that worked out. Maybe, by some miracle, Henry will be different. At any rate, on with the games.
TippCityRick
From the comments on Bengals.com this morning it appears this was MBs decision. I like what Hoosh said. Everyone has a boss. Marvin reports to Mike and we report to Marvin. Mike is the boss and it's his decision to pay CH and try to reclaim him from the scrap heep. A six week insurance policy.
