Thurmanation
I can't be mad at him for "wanting to go to a winner"Like when he wanted to be traded to Miami. Yep. .. Welcome back Chad. We still love ya!We means more than one person, but it's just you waving this flagEh just because they we're 1-15 last year doesn't mean they can't turn it around in next couple of hears.More since most people on are on the Tuna Hype train.Ahem, i think a team in my sig went from dead last to champions, proved its not impossible. Kazkal
Not saying it will take 1 season but within 3 years very well could be contender "shrug" or could remain in a downward spiral only time will tell. But phins looking like their trying to do everything in their power build a winning franchise. BengalPimp
Ok, let me just say this....Chad handled this thing about as poorly as one can. HE WAS WRONG. Yes he pissed off a lot of people, but seriously guys....Did he really say anything most of us havent already said a million times? Thats no excuse, but admit it. And I already know whats coming, so let me beat you guys to the punch....Yes we as fans can be more critical of the team and express our opinions without hurting the team and its chemistry. As a player what one says/does affects the team much more....Again, I'm not making excuses for the guy because I definately think he screwed himself and potentially the franchise....I'm just saying, I can see how he felt the way he did. Thats no excuse, but admit it.Nope, I can honestly say I have never turned my nose up at a multi million dollar contract that requires me only to remain in shape and only actually come to work 6 months out of the year, nor have I called my boss a liar in the national media.I'm just saying, I can see how he felt the way he did.So you too are out of your freakin mind :-) Good to know :-)

First I meant what he said about the direction of the organization and the losing....he never mentioned money(that was media speculation) Next, about the way he felt....Since you questioned my sanity, allow me to question whether you have ever in your life worn a jock-strap? Did you ever want to win? DID YOU EVER WANT TO PLAY FOR A WINNER?AGAIN....I said i disagreed with him, the actions he took, and the way he handled things.....Maybe instead of saying "I can see how he felt the way he did"....I should have been more direct so that your feeble mind could comprehend, and said......I can see how a player can at times get frustrated.....but he dealt with it poorly....So go ahead...Tijuana Jackson....Chop-up this comment, and make it seem like I said something different. Don't expect a reply on this one.Good to know someone else here on the zone is starting to come around. Look at this franchise. Would you want to play for Cincinnati? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love it here, but this team has been one of the worst teams in the history of the NFL... We get to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years and regress since. It's pathetic. I understand completely where Chad is COMING from, but I don't agree with his behavior.
TJJackson
Well, we can all agree he just wants to go to a winning organization, as shown when he cajoled Al Davis and Bill Parcells to bring him into their winning organizations

How many other great players have played for losing teams and went out week after week and conducted themselves in a professional manner? Too many to name of course but a few examples; Walter Payton, Archie Manning, Willie Anderson. Even Barry Sanders who quit football because he was frustrated with his teams' futility never went on tirades like Chad. Chad has had to "endure 3 losing seasons in his career and they haven't even been consecutive.Again if Chad is all about winning then he needs to stop being part of the problem and begin being part of the solution. The biggest criticism of the team has been its lack of maturity and quitting when the going gets tough. Sounds like he defines the problem to me. You can't take Chad seriously about going to those two teams. If anything, he would've used a trade between Miami, Oakland, Washington and Cinci as a buffer to go to a "winner" like Dallas, New England, Indy, or maybe San Diego. These are the only teams Chad would sign a deal with if there were a trade.Again, I don't blame him. His clock is ticking. I would want to go to a "winner" too... Nothing wrong with that. He has 3 years left on a very lucrative contract. Anyone trading for him would assume ownership of that contact. You make it sound like Chad would have full control of such a trade. Nothing could be further from the truth.

If I were his teammate I would have a real tough time putting trust in someone like that. If I were the quarterback, I would have an even tougher time throwing the ball to him in key situations because that level of trust might not be there. I know that he is saying that he and Carson are fine and they are getting back on the same page, but if we couldn't take what he told us earlier seriously, how can we take what he says now to the bank? Thurmanation
Chad Johnson : UnprofessionalThats all this really comes down to, i can understand playing for a losing team too, i'm sure we all can and yeah it sucks, but suck it up Nancy. Wraith
Drew thought he could pressure the Bengals into tearing up his contract and putting in one that would ensure that he was one of the top WRs in the game as far as money is concerned, when that failed he tought he could pressure the Bengals into trading him to a team that would open up the vault (ala Washington), the Bengals called his bluff and he lost and now Chad has to rebuild his image which he will just like Kobe did.Mike Brown is one of the most stubborn people on the planet and Drew Rosenhaus severely underestimated him. BengalByTheBay
Not that "ballsack chat" isn't entertaining, but I thought it might be nice for another installment of "The Schitzo World of Chad" -- (courtesy of PFT, of course)"As the ssssslow period on the NFL calendar continues to be filled with new twists on old stories (and, frankly, we’re not complaining), ESPN has offered up an interview of Bengals receiver Chad Johnson.Strangely, the task of talking to Johnson went to Stephen A. Smith, who to our knowledge has had zero prior involvement in the network’s coverage of the NFL. (Maybe one of the 583 ESPN on-air personalities paid to cover the NFL weren’t available.)That said, Smith did a great job of getting Chad to open up. And, in so doing, to prove that when lawyer Eric Deters said Chad has the “mental agility of a small soap dish,” the American League of Small Soap Dishes should have immediately demanded an apology. For starters, Chad flat-out admits that he showed up for mandatory minicamp only because of the potential financial consequences of staying away. “I’m crazy,” he said. “I ain’t stupid. And I looked at all the fine print of me not showing up, and they could have got me if they wanted to.”In other words, Chad didn’t have some sort of ephiphany. He still, in his heart, wants out. But he realized he can’t force his way out by not showing up.He was hardly convincing when Smith pressed him on whether he wants to be a member of the team, especially when Chad said, “I ain’t got no choice.”Chad also suggested earlier in the discussion that the word “disgruntled” is beyond the scope of his comprehension skills, and he took exception, in rather emotional fashion, to the suggestion that he is emotional.“I was venting, I’m not emotional,” Johnson said. “Whoever used that dumb word ‘emotional.’ I’m not emotional.”So kudos to Smith and to ESPN for coaxing out of Chad even further evidence that he’s disgruntled, emotional, and/or crazy.Just don’t compare him to a small soap dish. Because small soap dishes have feelings too."Accept my apologies if this has been previously posted on one of the many CJ threads.
