OCHO STINKO SHOVES BENGALS EMPLOYEE

Try as agent Drew Rosenhaus might to keep the efforts of Bengals receiver Chad Johnson to finagle a trade out of town behind the scenes, the player known in this space as Ocho Stinko can't avoid wearing his emotions on his sleeves.

And that puts his career on the same trajectory as T.O., circa 2005.

Owens wanted out of Philly, and Rosenhaus opted to go public with it. The campaign pushed the Eagles into a corner, and resulted in an ill-advised Plan B, which was premised on Owens being a complete pain in the butt until he got his way.

For Johnson, we've believed ever since his romp down radio row that, regardless of any efforts to the contrary, Johnson eventually is going to engage in behavior that results in fines and/or suspensions for conduct detrimental to the team.

And it might already be happening.

According to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com, Johnson shoved Bengals media relations employee Michael Lipman as Lipman was trying to make Johnson available to Marvez and another reporter. Johnson then "stared down" Lipman before leaving.

In addition to any discipline that the team might impose, the NFL could nail Johnson under the Personal Conduct Policy. Though the policy primarily applies to criminal activity, it also prohibits "[v]iolent or threatening behavior among employees, whether inside or outside the workplace."

Regardless of whether it's the league or the team, something needs to be done about this guy. Without discipline, Johnson's behavior will only get worse.

Well trade value is sure disappearing fast.

PS,I was going attach it to another thread but figure was big enough if true to get it's own thread.

Good God. Talk about a progressive melt-down since the playoff game in '05. He's somehow managed to get worse and worse finding himself to have pulled a 180 in the public eye.

He was once a fan-favorite whose behavior would be defended to the end. Now, he's become a despised malcontent. You gotta give the guy props. That's quite a feat in a two year time period.

The media knows Chad won't interview here in Cincinnati, he's done with them. The guy probably approached Chad like he was the paparazzi and Chad shoved him.. No big deal.

Yes, we're well aware that you feel people who are mistreated by athletes "deserve it", even if the mistreatment is severe enough to carry criminal penalties.

What a moron.

Yeah, it does seem like Chad went off his meds, doesn't it?

Chad is losing it if not lost it. He's shown the entire NFL that he doesn't listen to anyone but himself. Not Marvin Lewis, not his agent Drew Rosenhous. On the football field he can't be coached to run the right routes; off the field while playing the game his agent has diagrammed he can't keep his hands off harmless NFL flacks. I thought this guy had the self control to get off the stage and work quietly with his agent and the Bengals to advance his interests. Guess not. Can rehab be far off?

As much as I bang on the Bengals for essentially creating these messes with disgruntled players, it seems Chad may indeed benefit from some sort of psychological help or medication.

I saw where Mo Egger is trying to get "The Nanny" (from the reality show) to take him on as her next case, on his blog. go vote!

At the risk of violating the board rules on personal attacks, you are a total idiot.

"...No big deal."

I am not sure of the circumstance where Chad shoving anyone off the field is "no big deal", perhaps you can explain?

How long will you go on defending someone who's behavior has regressed into borderline criminal behavior and at this point offers only roadblocks and distractions that are completely against the goals of the team?

This is lasting a little long for PMS. I'm starting to think menopause. How old is Chad, anyway?

The problem with Chad is he is both the father figure and mother figure in his life. That plus having access to millions of dollars.

I don't buy into this. I'm sursprised by how many of you are willing to take a cap hit and turn on him.

I say make his ass stay and work off his contract. He's a football player and will want to play when the season starts.

Someone needs to go put a bullet in Drew and maybe things like this would stop happening in the NFL. I think he's the one manufacturing most of this and tells his players to play along if the want something. Without Drew T.O. would still be in San Fran attempting to catch some of Rice's records.

I'm pretty sure Chad could eat babies and you'd say "So? They're high in protein."

Shoving an annoying, nerdy journalist for getting in his face and I'm sure not respecting his personal space or eating babies *weighing the two* ... Pointless post  .

The term for what Chad did is short and sweet, its call Assault everywhere in these 50 states. Assuming the story is true as reported. From the NFL's perspective, those nerdy journalists feed the paying public the BS publicity that floats their multi billion dollar boat. So Commish Goddell has a interest in making sure his 6foot behemoths behave themselves around the lessor folk. So yeah, Chad is elevating this to Goddell's level when he starts acting like a thug with the press. Again if its true as reported.
