bwillycuse
I'm telling you Sport, Chad's feelings are hurt. Whether you guys want to mock him for that or not, he's still one hell of a football player and he wants to win football games and go to the playoffs, not play for a team/city that goes 7-9 and doesn't support him.Find me a city that will support what he is doing. He is an adult with children. bucksfan2
Winning solves everything. I think that this is a media created story that has even further fueled the media in this city. Too often we think of Professional Athletes as just athletes and not people. I remember in the Buffalo game that many people thought Chad was faking it after he was blown up diving for a pass across the middle. Why would the leaders on the team let something like that happen? I am sick and tired of the diffencies of this team being placed on one guy. He had a down year and still put up big numbers this season. Those types of guys just don't grow on trees. kentjett
Randy Moss and TO are the ssame exact way but they look like they are all about their team when they are winning. Chad is a little kid at heart and he acts like it some times. People like it when we are winning and they hate it when we lose. These players where their emotions on their sleeve and the worst part of them comes out when things are down. Chad will be fine and he'll be a Bengal next year. But the highest profile player on the team complaining about his whole team on every single interview is getting old and can only damage the 'TEAM'.I love his production. I love his enthusiasm. TJJackson
Maybe the staff and the rest of the team/organization owes him an apology. This from the guy who, when commenting about a woman who was assaulted, "the b1tch deserved it"Moreover.....if I was getting paid like Chad is, my employer could do just about anything short of slitting my throat without me expecting or needing an apology. This infantile tantrum is just ridiculous, and anyone supporting it is an absolute moron.
Bengals1
From Lance's Blog:The end of Ocho Cinco in CincyMark the day and time.....Jan. 30, 2008 on the Jim Rome show. I think Bengal fans will look back and remember this day for years to come. If it wasn't obvious before, it is now......Chad Johnson has turned the page and his back on his Bengals career. This isn't cute....it isn't fun...and it's not an act. This is calculated and orchestrated. He and agent Drew Rosenhaus have put the wheels in motion to get out of town. They believe he's best served leaving Cincinnati. They view the field turf as greener any place else. This is about money, losing, marketing and trust. Chad continues to believe he is being sabotaged by, not the fans or media...but the organization. This might be fixable if it was the media and fans. Anyone think this organization is good at making guys feel loved?Chad pointed out two people in the organization that he believes have his back. That leaves 51 other players, a coach, his staff and owners on the outside of his world. Wonder how Marvin feels, considering he practically wrecked this lockerroom to be Chad's best buddy since halftime of the playoff game? The worst case scenario now is that Chad returns. Anyone want that? Anyone think that would be productive for anyone? Chad won't mature. He's not capable, nor does he see a need. It was fun for a while. Now it's a real drag. And it's sad Chad chose this path.To answer my own question in an earlier post I believe Rosenhaus/Chad can re-do his current deal so that the cap hit to the bungles is negliable. He could then be traded. One of the smarter posters here can correct me but I believe that's the only way a major cap hit can be avoided. And well technically SoP "could" absorb the 4.5mil cap hit everyone with an IQ above 9 knows he won't.

Whether you guys want to mock him for that or not, he's still one hell of a football player and he wants to win football games and go to the playoffs, not play for a team/city that goes 7-9 and doesn't support him. That's crap. Cincinnati has bought a ton of 85 jerseys. The organization has never said anything bad about him. As for not wanting to play for a team with a 7-9 record...first, his play last year was a big part of that. Second, is he a selfish lazy frontrunner who wants to be traded to a ready-made winner, or is he willing to work to improve his team? It's becoming clear that Chad's all about Chad. His antics for the last two years are showing that he's not willing/able to man up, act like an adult, and work together with his team to win games when it matters. COB
I just think the Bengals should start lining something up now, then try to execute the trade when the trade period opens. Otherwise we'll be listening to all of Rosenhaus' crap coming out of Chad's mouth for months on end, and our leverage will drop as teams see that we absolutely must move him. I'm not even pissed at Rosenhaus and Chad. They're doing us a favor.

COB
Second, is he a selfish lazy frontrunner who wants to be traded to a ready-made winner, or is he willing to work to improve his team?I suspect that if you put that question to Chad you'd get a blank stare in return. Chad has shown repeatedly, and in bold print, that "winning" for him means he's the center of attention, gets showered with affection at every turn, and his behavior is never questioned. It would be shocking if he had analyzed his potential new employer in terms of how he could help the team win. His complaints here are not hey, we can't win. It's always "who has my back". Which I interpret to mean who comes loudly to my defense when anyone dares to criticize my selfish clown act, performed while my teammates are trying to win a football game. His thoughts regarding a new team are more likely along the lines of market size, can I get a tv camera shoved in my face every day, and will the coach, ownership, and teammates "have my back", ie - applaud and defend every stupid attention-seeking stunt I can think of. I am desperate to see this Bengals '08 squad really come together as a team. Getting rid of Chad will be a great first step. Can't say if it will happen, but I'm sure rooting for it. ShulaSteakhouse
1. Chad is a big baby and handled the last season very poorly2. That said, this franchise's top two WR's and RB all left this team under bad circumstances, were bitter and felt management didn't do enough to win3. #2's theme has been echo'd by many, many fans and media members for many years4. I don't think this is all a coincidence5. Some folks here and elsewhere have a head-in-the-sand mentality when it comes to this6. Thus Chad will not be the last star franchise type of player to become dishenfranchised, bitter and want out hereIt's one thing when "good" players or simple malcontents do this - it happens to all teams once in a while. With the Bengals' it happens to their franchise's best players that sign extensions and stay here under false pretenses given to them by management over and over - you can throw Spikes in that mix as well.If you want to win and have a chance to go to a SB or the playoffs, you don't want to play in Cincinnati. You are here to collect a check. As much as Chad's act has grown tired, I am more than happy to see him call the Bengals' out publicly for not making more of an effort to win or change. Maybe it'll force some change, somehow, some way, all I can hope for at this point.

volcom69
Then let him find somewhere else this is getting stupid now im tired of hearing it im tired of reading this guy makes more money then i will ever make in a life time and he wants to cry because hes on a losing team and has been. Heres alittle something then do something to help this team win stand up and be a leader stand up and stick up for ur other teammates. I never once seen him stand up for anyone else i never once seen him stand up and be a leader or call an all players meeting last year to push these guys along. Until he matures grows up and becomes a leader he will fail, if he leaves he better find a place that dosnt need someone to help lead there team cause he sure as hell sucks at that. He has become pathetic in his own way and i just really wanna say a big thanks for steppin up when this team really needed him the most but instead he decided to make last year all about him never about his teammates, and now wants to cry like alittle baby..... THANK U
hrod382
Chad hadn't really effected me either way up until today. I didn't care either way for his off field antics and he put up numbers on the field. After today, I'd just assume he be gone. You can't say that about your teammates (regardless of whether it's true or not) and come back to a good situation.Call up Tampa Bay and ask for #20 overall. We won't be losing our most important WR.On a side, if he really thinks he'll be fine in Miami then Brian Russell must've hit him harder than I thought. Pidge
Look, let's not kid ourselves. Winning does solve everything. Chad wants to win, probably wouldn't even mind winning the whole thing before his time is over. Certainly would cement him as a HOF canddate. It would be nailed on.The chances of Chad winning a Superbowl with the Bengals? Negligable. Hell, the chances of the playoffs again aren't sky high either. Am I angry that Chad wants to go somehwere else? Not really, athletes have a very short career. The reasons he gives are utter rubbish though. No doubt he's deluded enough to have convinced himself that he is being victimised but the real reason is far simpler. The Bengals organisation has been a lemon for all but one of his years here. So, man up Chad and just say it. I want to win something meaningful and it ain't going to happen in Cincy. Quit with the bulls**t act. The truth shall set you free and so on and so forth.
