GregCook
Out of those 30 teams, how many have actually won a SB in the last 17 years. How many have consistantly made the playoffs? IT AIN'T EASY HOMEY!Here you go: Of the 31 teams other than the Bengals, only the Texans haven't been to the playoffs, and they're an expansion team. Of the other 30, EVERY OTHER TEAM but the Bengals has a playoff win over that 17 year span. ALL of them. Of those 30 who have been to the playoffs, 29 have been at least twice over those 17 years - the only exception is the Arizona Cardinals. If my counting is correct, 21 have been to a Super Bowl, and 25 to a Conference Championship. So yes, 'Homey', the Bengals easily have the worst 17-year stretch in the NFL, and the only pretender to the throne of incompetence - the Bidwells of Arizona - are renowned idiots themselves. In fact, it actually IS easy to have success in the NFL at some point, because the reward for incompetence - in terms of picks and schedule to some extent - is so high. Most teams find a way to take advantage of it. To be as bad as the Bengals, it takes a special kind of Mike Brown stupid, unfortunately.Note it doesn't give me pleasure to point this out, but I'm tired of hearing how hard it is to lead a team to the playoffs every once in a while.Really what you're saying, DC, if I can call you that, is it's harder to be BengalBad than winning in the NFL. If you have the time, you might want to research each teams playoff record and match that against the Bengals over 17 years. My fear is that once again we will set the standard for having no standards.
cincyhokie
Your taking the photo and blowing it out of proportion or out of context... Chad fumbled the ball but he wasn't aware that the ball was still live, for all he knew the play was over. He was pissed off at himself for fumbling the rock and more so for not blowing by the defender for a score.No. I saw the play happen live too. Chad fumbled the ball and his first instinct was not to get it or even CHECK or SEE if it was live or not. His first instinct was to pout. I don't think that can be argued. Most players would be upset if they fumbled the ball too, it's just that they'd take their frustrations to the bench not become so pissed that they STOPPED playing.By the way. I noticed in the interview Chad begins that it was a hard season for HIM. Really Chad? I guess you're the only one on the team or in the city that was not happy with 7-9.Great talent. One of the best in the game. No maturity and a "me first mentallity". It's too bad. If Chad wanted to reach that next level with the talent he has he should have kept talking to players like Jerry Rice.
James_Brooks21
This comes from the same guy that backed a player that slapped his gf by saying, "The bitch probably deserved it!" Yeah, it's amusing that he thinks anyone values anything he has to sayDon't blame Drew blame the grown man who made the statement. No man is bigger then the team, if you are a Bengals fan how could you justify him saying this. The whole team suffered this year not just him, the worlds not fair and when the team is losing do you expect management to come down there and rub your back the whole time. The Bengals need to get some we people this offseason and get rid of the me people. I could care less if we got rid of him then we would not have this conversation at the end of the year every year about what he is thinking who cares. The Bengals can find a way to win without him it's not like he is carrying the team or something, tighten up that defense some more and we will win more games. If ]]]you trade him don't do him a favor like you did Corey Dillon trade his butt to Oakland or something.
ShulaSteakhouse
This is the f**king NFL guys, winning seasons playoffs and Super Bowls aren't easy to come by.You mean like, once every 17 years? Is it really that tough? I can name 30 teams that would disagree with you. Surely they aren't all wrong.2 words we will both agree on; Mike Brown.Out of those 30 teams, how many have actually won a SB in the last 17 years. How many have consistantly made the playoffs? BengalszoneBilly
Come on Chad, you're 30 years old.... grow up...Those words are strikingly similar to the ones my wife utters at me while screaming at the TV on Sundays when the Bengals are on. IMO to "grow up" is to lose the lust and passion for the game Simply put, at times...boys must be boys.Besides, I need to save all my adult attitude for work. bengalsfansince68
You really beleive that Chad just "gave up" on that play? If so, your f**king blind fool!Mr. Green, While I totally agree that everyone makes winning in the NFL out to be much easier than it is, this is one of the dumbest quotes it has ever been my pleasure to challenge in a sea of absurdity.Chad absolutely gave up on that play. There was no whistle on that play and everyone on the field was trying to recover that fumble except for the crybaby who chose to sit and pout rather than play until the whistle. Defending Chad on this play is just plain silly and it wasn't the only play where CJ gave up this season. How about 4th and 17 against the stealers when Chad ran his route four yards short and wandered out of bounds, effectively turning the ball over. The only f**cking blind fools on those plays were Chad and those who choose to defend him on those plays. rwalling
"Chad calls for change..."OK, here's a couple changes:1) try blocking on running plays and for other receivers downfield2) try staying in bounds when your TEAM is trying to kill the clock and run out a game3) try working on not dropping balls in key situations or disappearing entirely4) try having your TEAMMATES back for a change instead of stabbing them everytime a booyah boy comes at you with a mikeThe reason your teammates don't have your back, wittle Chaddy, is you've never had theirs. Leadership is earned and you haven't. You're just another TO, Keyshawn, Michael Irvin wannabe. In your world, the most important part of TEAM is ME. He's a very good player, just not worth the distraction or lack of teamwork.Give me the second round pick he came in on or a solid defensive starter and I can easily live without him. coupdayta
Chad, Carson "had your back" all season, as did TJ. Hell, I remember even Mike Brown coming out himself and reassuring the media that Chad was not going to be traded. So who didn't have your back, Chad? Your other teammates? May Guy-check after he went after your fumble that you decided to pout about? *See picture below*The guy has all of the talent in the world but will never get out of the way of himself mentally. He has the self esteem of a teenage girl.Your taking the photo and blowing it out of proportion or out of context... Chad fumbled the ball but he wasn't aware that the ball was still live, for all he knew the play was over. He was pissed off at himself for fumbling the rock and more so for not blowing by the defender for a score.I'm glad Chad's going about it this way. Cincy needs to be exposed to the rest of the country, our fans are some of the biggest bandwaggon/fairweather fans in the world. Cincy has deserted him after one bad season. This city can't handle winning anymore - the 70's and 80's are dead! Chad is one of the GREATEST wr's in the league. Without him, our offense is not the same. I don't think Chad really wants out, he wants a change. MB is the worst thing that ever happened to the Bengals!I've said it before, I'll say it again. Honestly, if I were Chad, I'd want out of this city too. There's absolutely NO love. This is the f**king NFL guys, winning seasons playoffs and Super Bowls aren't easy to come by. If Chad has to go, I'd take no less than Anquan Boldin, L. Fitsgerald, Braylon Edwards, Plaxico Buress, Randy Moss, TO, Steve Smith, Torry Holt or Roy Williams.Exactly! I'm not even that big of a Chad Johnson fan and I think getting rid of him would be ridiculous. Chad Johnson is not Corey Dillon, Takeo Spikes or Carl Pickens. He's a top 5 receiver. How do you all think TJ had the opportunity to share the lead in the NFL for catches? It's because the defense was busy covering CHAD JOHNSON, our biggest threat. This forum has become so negative in the last few months. What is wrong with you people? It's time to get positive and look towards next season.1) We've fired Bresnahan.2) We'll get Brooks back.3) We'll get maybe Thurman or Pollack back.4) We get to cut dead weight and make an aggressive play on the FA market.5) We'll get Kenny Irons back and maybe Chris Perry, meaning we have an over abundance at RB.I see a lot of things to feel good about as a Bengal even though this season was disappointing. If you guys are tired of whining, look at yourselves. You all sound like a teenage girl who got dumped. Go write some bad poetry, light a few candles and get over it. BengalChamps
Chad calls for a change? I agree. Chad needs to be employed elsewhere. If we dont get a comparable replacement, maybe this team will have to emphasize the running game more, (that would be good) maybe this team would have to use the TE more, (that would be good) may this team would respect the coach more, (that would be good), maybe this front office would be forced to throw more money at the defense(that would be good). I dont see ANY negatives to chad leaving.
BengalszoneBilly
I dont see ANY negatives to chad leaving. So you don't see the scenario of #85 leaving, and all his double coverages then falling on #84, which leaves us depending on those below them on this list from the Bengals website.Without another reciever of his caliber standing in wait, (which there isn't) that simply puts this tandems last season total of 205 receptions, for 2583 yards, with 20 TD's in jeopardy. IMO you are one of the most one sided players I have ever seen. The QB that has thrown the ball to you the last four year was lead blocking for you(has anyone seen Chad lead block lol) and you step out of bounds with no contact.Until Chad shows he can play a full contact football game, my respect for him falls. He WAS my favorite player. Him, Meshawn(who no longer has Chads back), and TO can share stories because this next year looks like a conduct detrimental to team year without pay if it keeps up like this.OH and Chad, without Palmer your #'s will go down. And when Philly fans get a whiff of your softness.( If there is a trade) Cincy problem would pale in comparison. The man doesn't know a good situation if it smacked him in the head.Keep burning bridges Chad. You used to be endearing...now its just annoying.I got your back....IF YOU WANT TO BE A BENGAL. COB
This morning on Sirius the NFL radio guys were blabbing about Chad's interview on ESPN yesterday. They summarized that Chad wants traded badly. Then they looked at the possibilities, and determined between them that Minnesota desperately needs Chad, and said they should trade their first round pick, the 17th overall, to the Bengals for Chad. If he gets offered that, Mike Brown should take it pronto.

HairOnFire
Id take a first for Chad if what we are seeing now from him continues. The only question I have is if it continues on a weekly basis or degrades into a near daily thing. Seriously, I think Chad has already granted more interviews this offseason than he did all last year.
volcom69
Wow this is a hard one i love the guy when his heart is into playin the game all the hard effort he put in the last couple of years, but this year his heart just didnt seem into it at all. I really wonder if he will hold out if he dosnt get traded or not play 100% of the time just to make his point and thats what im affraid of. This team dosnt need any more distractions then what they had all year so i really dont know what to say about this, and i guess only time will tell. It's apparent with all the mid-field passes thrown to Houshmanzadeh who Carson could find open on shorter patterns. I've said it before...we need help on the offensive line be it through the draft or free agency. The same goes for the defensive side of the ball. Win on the LOS, and win the games!
