PaBengal
I am definitely still in support and going by their schedule, I still think that they can make the playoffs and turn this around. As a matter of fact, I want to call out all of the "Blind Homers". We are needed right now. Here I am. One of the biggest 'blind Homers', you will ever meet. Been with the team since the mid-70's. I'm not giving up. Still sporting my Bengals gear and always will. This team has the talent to overcome any obstacle. Just wait you will see. I'm with you NYBengalfan, the Bengals will make the playoffs. Scottishbengal
Picked 'em in the mid 80's and stuck with them - highs and lows - as you do with your team. The end of last season and the start of this is a huge disppointment, so much hope, so much potential, it's the frustration we all feel as fans that makes the whole scenario so much more hurtful. We, as Bengals fans, know only too well that when you're down then the only way is up. WHODEY

I know the majority of us (that still have our head attached to our shoulders) want Chad here, but I'm not so sure about Marvin Lewis. The way he handles the media and the way he indirectly talks to us as fans disapoints me. One side of me is starting to wonder if Marvin is for real or not, the other sides tells me that this series of unfortunate events (massive injuries, losing players to FA, suspensions) have all tremedously decimated this team... Winning seems to be the only remedy, we need a W really BAD!

Even if Cleveland plays along, we'll be lucky to finish third in the AFC North.8-8 is probably our best hope. Nowhere near the playoffs.Blind Homer, out. ArmyBengal
Reporting in from Ireland... Wait, I mean Kuwait... Er Qatar... Well, I know with all the countries I've seen in the past couple days, I'll be back in Afghanistan tomorrow. That being said, I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT the Bengals regardless. They are my hometown team and through thick and thin, they will be the end all and be all of football for me until the day I die. Now, frustration is another story. The play of this team is beyond rediculous. They are pathetic in all areas. Offense is horrible (3rd down conversion rate SUCKS)... Defense is horrible (Injuries cannot be ignored or dismissed)... Special Teams looks more like Special Ed Teams... Coaching has to take some responsibility as well. They are just all around a very poor (not to mention immature) team. The easy schedule works in our favor, but some of those teams that some thought were sure fire wins prior to the start of the season, might not be so sure anymore.I was almost sure this team was going to win at least 10 games (and they still might) but I just don't think so. The frustration is just overwhelming from such an underwhelming team. If they do make the playoffs, they will get their asspieces handed to them. I'm strapped in for a VERY bumpy year !!!WHODEY !!! BengalChamps
We are not going to make the playoffs but...1. You can only play one game at a time. Even if we were in the playoff hunt this would be true.2. Our coaches have not all of a sudden gotten stupid. 3. Professional sports are all about the players and talent. WE DONT HAVE ANY! except for Carson.4. Bad drafting and bad drafting luck/injuries have put us in the talent deficient situation that we are in.5. Buddy Ryan couldnt coach this defense!!6. I hate the Clowns, Squeelers, and Ratbirds.7. Who Dey!
TheCinciBengal
it doesn't matter what their record is ill always be a fan of the Bengals and you gotta think of the draft maybe we could get a good spot and get a really good player and then come back and kick butt next year

Talent cannot overcome pathetic game planning.

This is a frustrating season but it is less than 1/3 done and I waited all offseason to watch the Bengals play again. I have at least 11 more games to watch this year and I will cheer for every single one of them. This is the problem with this city's fans. People are jumping ship already. Its sad really. Hey, maybe the fair weather fans will relinquish their seat licenses and I can pick up set of season tickets this year. All this team needs is a good win to get that feeling back. Get a little swagger back. The leaders on this team need to show themselves. Whoever that may be...With Marvin, well....Im still waiting for him and his coaches to call a good gameplan and have it executed, challenge a play when it is called for and holding on to the flag when its not. I really would like some semblance of intellegence show its face. Lets get a win vs the Jets, pull one out of our a$$ against the Steelers and a-rollin we go.Who Dey

Scott
I'm always going to support this team. I know in the past couple of weeks, longtime loyal friends of mine who were also fans have bailed and jumped ship. The irony is that we've stuck with this team through the miserable 90's. And now they bail because the team is 1-4 and hasn't had a winning season (so called) since we went 11-5 a couple of years ago. I guess some were happier when we wouldn't win any games at all. I guess some were happier when we wouldn't win any games at all.I think the reason a lot of people have bailed is because of what they expected out of this team, and then what they turned into. After the 2005 season, no one expected them to regress back to this point because they saw them as winners, and even some in the national media picked them to go to the Super Bowl in the pre season last year; they wound up going 8-8 and now things seem to be worse this year. People are bailing on them because they thought they had turned the corner, but obviously they haven't so they’re disappointed. In the 90's we expected them to lose. I'm behind them no matter what, but I can understand why some wouldn't be.

They still want to see the team win even though their statments are critical in nature. It's like still being a proud American even though you speak out against the current administration. Scottishbengal
This is the problem with this city's fans. People are jumping ship already. Its sad really.I don't think this is the case , I believe the fans are genuinely hurting because the team are failing to play to a certain standard, failing to win, failing to meet aspirations = they're failing the fans! I don't think people are jumping ship, just kicking the planks in despair!

I don't think people are jumping ship, just kicking the planks in despair!Well said Scotsman, and so true. This team has failed it's fans miserably. I'm not sure who holds the blame - be it Mike Brown, Marvin Lewis, Bob Bratkowski, Chuck Bresnahan, Ricky Hunley, Ken Zampese, the offense, the defense, the locker room towel boy, or the evil eight headed injury monster. All I know is I find this a bad thing. It reminds me of the Days of Darkness. The 1990's where so many high expectations found themselves dashed upon the rock of reality year after year, and it simply doesn't sit well with me at all. I'll endure this as a Bengals fan as I've always have, but I WILL be vociferous about it. After 40 years of supporting them I have earned the right.
