Bengals@Chiefs Game Thread

Remember 2003 when the Bengals were playing every game with so much fight? They weren't the better team most games but they played hard and didn't get blown out at all that year. I thought with Marvin Lewis this team would play like that as long as he was the head coach. This team is not bad talent wise, they just can't play as a team and they're playing with no heart. It's sad and it's disappointing. Bengals fans deserve better than this.

Our "D" has been holding its own for being a bunch of 2nd teamers and no name guys. When you have an offense like ours there is no reason for 3 and outs in consistent possessions, or turnovers for that matter. If we get in the endzone before the half it'll be a total momentum shift because we get the ball to start the 2nd half. Come on Carson! Wake up Chad!

our last possession made me sick -- 3rd and 1 and we run a stretch play wide when kenny's been able to run up the middle all day. geez.

Well it can be one of two things. Either the team as a whole just isn't as good as what people thought, or Carson is just pressing too hard because he knows he has to put up big numbers in order for the team to win because the defense sucks so bad.

All things considered the D could be worse today. They've constantly been put into bad position by the O and STs. Meanwhile the O just plain sucks.

I'm not sure you could do much worse than have a RB go 15 for 105 with a TD (and it would be 2 TD's and 120 if he didn't fumble it out of the end zone at the goal line).

Neither side of the ball is getting the job done as usual. It's a true team effort.

Why is no one pointing the finger, again, at the o-line? It has everything to do with them - they're terrible. The only starter who is out today is Willie. And Levi is only out because he suddenly has lost the ability to block for some reason.

Oh, there's no doubt it's about the o-line. The absence of guys like Willie and the '05 Levi (and, of course, Steinbach) is killing us.

Man...if it wasn't for the LJ fumble, the Bengals would have given up 27 points in the first half. Whether you believe it is Chuck B's fault, doesn't something have to be done to shake things up? The Chiefs hadn't scored more than 16 points in any game this season going into today.

What a f**king joke of a ***damn football team.

f**k you, Marvin Lewis. f**k. you.

Y'know, mem, this post illustrates your biggest problem around here, you absolutely refuse to tell people how you really feel...

(FWIW I'm with ya...what a freakin' joke...)

I'd say the biggest problem is Carson.

Think about last year...the defense was just as bad, but Carson made up for it. He was able to keep the offense on the field as long as possible, make plays, and get points. This year, not even close. Terrible ratio, passing 7 INTERCEPTIONS! - he's giving the defense more playing time and putting little to no points on the board.

While the D may suck, they always have....our Offense just isn't making up for them anymore.

I've been patient. I have counted to ten. And then I have counted back down again.

It's all insane. All of it. And it's all on him.

Injuries? Boo-f**king who. Everyone has injuries. Good coaches deal with them. f**k! They had 2 weeks to get ready for this. To start fresh. And they insist on running low at LB AGAIN? WHY? WHY? WHY? It's not like Gonzalez and LJ don't chew up teams with bad LBers. Oh, wait. They do. None of this is a surprise. None of if. If there was even an inkling the LBers were not going to be back, they had to do something else. They didn't. f**k. him.

The line? The line? the LINE? f**k me raw, block somebody. Jesus. He has no time. None.

Oh, and f**k YOU, bax, for putting this on Palmer. God help the NFL if he were on a real team.

Bunch of incompetent motherf**kers. f**k Lewis. This is all on him. a**h***.

I really thought that this team would be better prepared coming off the bye week staring at a must win game. You can talk injuries, X's and O's and all that but that's not the real problem.

What this performance, or the lack of it, comes down to is focus and heart. The Bengals have none and I put the blame squarely on Marvin Lewis. I have lost all my faith in him to lead this team to a higher level.

Word.

They either come out of halftime with a clue and some balls, or I am off Lewis' side. This is on him. f**king coach, dickhead.
