Reading this on top of the deal with Levi spouting off & I also recall Chick saying on Lances show a week or two ago something about some of the players not even liking each other & that the OL is not fond of Chads antics. I'm wondering if Marvin is losing control of the team ? Hopefully I'm just reading into this too much

It's easy to point fingers when you are losing and easy to overlook things when you are winning. Hopefully things will improve soon with a few wins. Just remember they have lost two games by less than 10 points total and had their chances at the end in both.

If Chad is becoming a distraction, I wouldn't have a problem with trading him. He is one guy that would probably bring in a pretty good draft pick. If Henry can stay out of trouble, he and TJ would still make a pretty good 1-2 combo. Some teams have won with less than that.

Losing control? I'm wondering if he ever had it. <_<

I envision your trade playing out as follows: We get a first rounder for Chad. Said first rounder shows up and he A. Commits a variety of felonies, B. Shreds knee ligament in first pre-season game, or C. Actually makes it to regular season and breaks his neck trying to tackle Reuben Droughns, whoever he's playing for then. Regardless, end result is we get doinked. A Chad in the hand is worth three Mike and Marvin selected draft picks in the bush.

This is a great point. Look at the Corey Dillon/Randy Moss spin when they became Pats. Pretty much the storyline became "they were always great teammates, they just needed to win." Of course, that's crap. You either play your heart out or you don't, but winning makes everybody a great teammate and a swell guy. I'm concerned about the continued (apparent) slap-fight with Levi, but mainly because it just doesn't make sense. There seems to be something bubbling under the surface, but I doubt Joe Lunchpail (ie, me) may ever know what that is. Just like everybody is at each other's throats here, I'm sure the team isn't immune from feeling like crap about the past two weeks. A few good wins and everything is sunshine and rainbows again. Another couple of tough losses and it could spin out of control. Welcome to the NFL.

Yup. Win and it all goes away.

That said, it wouldn't be a Bengals team without the locker room cancers, right? :lmao:

Fair enough, but it's not just a Bengals phenomenon. Look at Philly, Oakland, and I might even see a little QB controversy brewing in Balt. (probably just wishful thinking).

If anyone is getting traded hopefully it is Levi. He is easier to replace than a player like CJ. They already have Whitworth to LT, so the loss of Levi wouldn't be as bad as the loss of CJ. It would be scary next season if they lined up Chris Henry, TJ, and draft pick as the WRs next season.

Just checking, but isn't Chad pretty much white-hot this year? In a year when people are fellating Randy Moss, isn't Chad putting up even better numbers? If, by some chance, the o-line is grumbling about Chad, I suggest they take a big dose of shut-the-f**k-up and try and match Chad's excellence. The antics don't thrill me with Chad, never have, but the production is undeniable, and he has taken it to a new level so far this year.

AMEN!!!! Our RBs have been making their first cut way behind the line of scrimmage, no room to run, and Carson's been hurried a lot more than I'd like. Sure the O-line has injuries (and mysterious Levi issues) but the 5 guys there haven't been playing well. And Chad has, indeed, been fantastic these first three games. So if I was part of the team that wasn't playing well, and felt like criticizing someone who is doing well, I think I'd agree and double your prescribed dose of STFU!!!.

But anyway, you take a team that probably expected to be 3-0 and make them 1-2, and they'll be cranky as a house full of 53 women who synchronized their PMS.

Trading Chad would be the biggest f**kup the Bengals could make, other than extending Bresnahans contract.
