HoosierCat Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 First one up:http://www.bengals.com/team/InjuryReport.aspHighlights: TJ, Nduke & Shane all didn't pracice today. O'Neal was limited. Good news: both Willie & Chatman went the distance today.Cleveland has some guys dinged, including their punter. Quote
WhoDey93285 Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 Man, TJ is tough as nails, but that guy seems to stay on the injury report. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 TJ is one tough dude. Hopefully we can stay relatively healthy all year! Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 No Levi mentioned anywhere - good or bad thing? I have to assume good, why are they being so secretive with his status? He's one of the highest paid players on the team - what gives? If he's hurt or questionable, just say so, but keeping him out of the lineup seems silly at this point. I don't care if Whitworth sits for now, but it would be nice to know what's going on there. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 No Levi mentioned anywhere - good or bad thing? I have to assume good, why are they being so secretive with his status?Uh, maybe because he's not considered injured any more?If he was it would be a violation of rules not to report his status. But why are you worried anyhow? IIRC you are of the opinion that levi sucks, is over-rated (like the whole o-line) etc. Line w/o levi did a perfectly good job protecting Carson against one of the league's best defenses, which again IIRC is your No. 1 concern. So...why do you care? Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I wouldn't mind seeing TJ take a rest if we get up on the Browns in this one. He will be needed far more going into Seattle the next week. Hell, you could say that about many of the players come to think of it...WHODEY !!! Quote

Hell, you could say that about many of the players come to think of it...WHODEY !!!I'd rather TJ play, but I wouldn't mind seeing his role limited so that Tab can get more playing time. The more passes Palmer throws his way early in the season, the more reliable he'll be in the bigger games. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Man, TJ is tough as nails, but that guy seems to stay on the injury report.Well...because he's tough as nails he wouldn't 'alligator-arm' a pass even if a DB was driving a semi right at him...so he gets hurt a lot. Despite that, he plays anyway, even if he has a broken back. The important part is he'll always be out there unless you actually saw his legs off. Quote
The PatternMaster Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I too would like to see Levi out there, let's forgive and forget shall we Marv? Sunday should be glorious!! Quote

So...why do you care?I'm just not impressed with that 1.7 YPC in the 1st half Monday night, or the 2.8 Rudi ended up having. Levi's strength is run blocking and he's still a better pass protector than Whitworth (obviously). So, why would I not want the better lineman in there? I think at one point Rudi had -7 yards on two running plays in a row it was so bad. He couldn't get out of the backfield. How is that a "good job" by the o-line? Nice standards we have.Franky I think that's a pretty legit question - so can the sarcasm and answer my question - if you don't know - spare me the Alexander man love and move on please. Thanks. HoosierCat Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 So, why would I not want the better lineman in there?Oh, I'm sure you would. I'm simply having trouble figuring out how a guy you've repeatedly decried as overrated and overpaid is suddenly a desperately needed lineman? If anyone has acquired a man-crush recently, it's you -- and on a player I'd never have imagined. Quote

HairOnFire Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I'm betting kid Steakhouse doesn't have a Levi man-crush at all. Far more likely is he's in love with his own rant where everything related to the O-line is bashed or belittled. And of course his rant also dictates that other fans be accused of having shockingly low standards if they consider a banged up unit surrendering just a single sack as being worthy of praise. Eff that guy. Quote

HoosierCat Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 Today's report is up (same link as before).So-so news: Willie didn't practice. I suspect he'll probably still be ready to go for as long as he can tho.Bad news: Bluto didn't practice with a thumb owie. Also, O'Neal didn't practice (knee).Good news: Shayne and TJ went the distance today. On the Cleveburg side, most of their guys have been upgraded since yesterday. However, Chad-killer (OK Chad-nuisance) Leigh Bodden pops up with groin injury. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Well i hope O'neil can go i would like to see all the cornerbacks at full health to what we have with all of them. As for Levi i would like to see him out there to i like Witworth but not sure hes the best tackle why dont they move Whit to guard and put Levi back in there in this game to see how things turn out thats what i would like to see. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 Whit is in there because he worked the whole offseason/camp/preseason next to Andrews while Levi rehabbed. He isn't the issue on the o-line, IMHO. Willie not being able to play a whole game (paging Kooistra), Bluto being dinged (Paging Steponafoot) and a 4th year rookie starting at LG have more to do with it that Levi's absence.Personally, I agree, I'd like to see Levi back in...but in place of Willie. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Ok if Willie isnt hurt anymore and can go wouldnt u wanna see Levi in there also. I would like to see Wille, Williams, Ghuictic, Whitworh, and Levi in there i think that would be a pretty domiant O-Line and i would like to see that this week against the Browns just to see how good that would be i dont know, but i think that would be pretty good though. princeton Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Ghiaciuc doubtfullet the brainy Whitworth hike the ball. Now there's a big line. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 14, 2007 Author Report Posted September 14, 2007 Aaaaand...Dexter Jackson hurt again. At least he's a probable so he'll play but sheesh, did he have to start his annual bout with injuries so early? With Chinny questionable that thins us out at SS. In fact they're the only two listed as the position. So they may have to shift someone over from free. Probably Indiana Jones. But we may finally see some Marvin White as well. Quote

I was hoping Hobs would do a piece on him finally making the team after years spent grinding it out on PS, but he was too busy writing about the Ivy League back-ups, freaking hobs.. Quote

membengal Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Ghiaciuc doubtfullet the brainy Whitworth hike the ball. Now there's a big line.Damn. That's going to hurt. This team needs to get Ghiaciuc healthy.Maybe if they can hide him on the bench this week, he can be ready for Seattle. This game worries me this weekend.... Quote
volcom69 Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Yea i sure hope they dont take the Browns lightly as bad as the browns are they are still an NFL team and if we make mistakes they can make us pay, so lets just hope the Bengals go in ready for a fight and play as physical as they did on Monday night.
