James_Brooks21
I would not say terrible but I would say below normal, he did not throw any interceptions so it was not terrible. But he was one of the primary reasons that the Ravens were able to hang around, he was missing guys bad sometimes but I don't expect that from him when we get Chris Henry back. I still don't understand why we were using Rudi instead of Watson on third down situations. Carson reminded me of that Denver game, missing wide open games more then normal but he still had a 100.3 rating because he did not turn over the ball way to go Carson stay away from the int's. I'm sure Carson is looking at film and is kicking himself today on the missed opportunities.

CarsonCity
Trivia question, When was the last time a QB had a 100+ passer rating against the Ravens.Hmm, nobody had one last year (I think Carson was the closest at ~97), so I'm going to guess it was Carson Palmer's 2nd game against them in '05. By the way, Benji had 47.25 and 45.14.

ShulaSteakhouse
And once again, just like with Rudi...the o-line gets a free pass it seemsFunny thing around here...
The Brew Man
And once again, just like with Rudi...the o-line gets a free pass it seemsFunny thing around here...I don't think its a free pass, that fumble by Rudi was really bad at a really bad time...he looked incredibly nervous on the sidelines. Even so, I am enjoying being 1-0 and a game ahead of Baltimore already, so if that is a free pass, I guess I am guilty.....

All the sportscasters are sweating his nuts over his performance on Sunday with 4 TD passes, but that's not due to his skill. That was a present from the Browns giving the Steelers ridiculous field position. It's not that hard to get a TD when you only have to 17 yards...against the browns. I'm sick of hearing about how it was his motorcycle accident that caused his awful year last season. That's crap...it's that he really is not that good. Ok, I guess I'll acquiesce that he can be good, but i doubt he'll ever be great.
HairOnFire
And once again, just like with Rudi...the o-line gets a free pass it seems Yeah, but you're always holding the O-lines feet to the fire so we're good on that front, and know where to find leadership when the revolution comes. BTW, how many times was Palmer sacked? Meanwhile, over at GoBengals, you can read fresh posts critical of Rudi Johnson written by DontPushMe, another brilliant football mind. bengalskyspy
Actually Carson was not at his best. His accuracy on the short/mid throws was high or off target most of the night. Had nothing to do with the vaunted Ravens D. This offese needs to get the killer instinct and put people away when they have the chance. I am not being negative, as CP will aget it together. Last night was an absolute blast.
jjakq27
I will agree that Carson looked spotty at times but in his defense let's look at a few examples from last night. How many catchable passes did TJ and Chad drop? How many times did Tab Perry run the wrong route (or so it seemed)? How many passes were within range of Rudi but were somehow uncatchable? Also let's review the stellar performances of the other members of the QB Club of the '03 draft.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfldraft/indexByron Leftwich (7/1st rd.)-probably the most debated among the draft sages in 2003. Leftwich or Palmer? Palmer or Leftwich? Well Leftwich isn't even with a team right now after getting the axe in Jax (sorry ). Kyle Boller (19/1st rd.)-relegated to a backup role after Steve McNair is acquired by the Ravens last year. Had multiple opportunities to tie the score at the end of the game last night against a supposedly s**tty defense and could not score.Rex Grossman (22/1st rd.)-mustered 3 whole points in the game against the Chargers on Sunday.Dave Ragone (24/3rd rd.)-Released by the Rams in 2006, he is the host of a radio show in Louisville.Chris Simms (33/3rd rd.)-A guy that many folks on this board clammored for over Palmer back in the day. Suffered a near fatal spleen injury last year and is now a backup to Jeff Garcia along with Bruce Gradkowski in Tampa.Seneca Wallace (13/4th rd.)-Career backup with the Seahawks with 4 career starts when Matt Hasselbeck was injured last year. Caught a pass in the playoff game last year against the Panthers. So please stop with the complaining about Carson. The guy isn't perfect on every play but he's about as good as it gets in the NFL. Stripes
Carson finished with a passer rating over 100 in a victory against the Baltimore Ravens. I cannot fathom any criticism directed his way, though it seems there hasn't been much of that here. The top three receivers all dropped at least a pass too.As for Rudi, isn't 18 carries for 50 yards a pretty standard stat line against Baltimore? The fumble was bad, but accusing fans of giving him a "free pass" is just ridiculous. I'd also like to give Bratkowski a lot of credit for sticking to the running game through all four quarters. Kazkal
60% acc with carson being off his A game, but still it was vs one of the top defenses with no run game at all.And once again, just like with Rudi...the o-line gets a free pass it seemsFunny thing around here...I don't think its a free pass, that fumble by Rudi was really bad at a really bad time...he looked incredibly nervous on the sidelines. ArmyBengal
I don't have much critisism, other than not putting the game away early. 6 turnovers should have netted far more than 20 points (defense scored) !!!WHODEY !!!
