Ox
17-0 Stools, first quarter. Wow the Browns are making Pittsburgh look good. This team may very well have a perfect record this season. 0-16.

Stripes
We're halfway through the second quarter and the Browns have two giveaways, given up four sacks (err... five now), and had four penalties on one play.

Ox
1st half of first game, Frye is benched. Wow. I mean this team is horrible. These Cleveland fans must want to hang themselves. They're making Pittsburgh and Big Jen look like SB contenders.
ShulaSteakhouse
Actually, Pittsburgh is a good team - not sure why people are down-playing them? I think they're potentially better than the Ravens, who are probably a bit overrated. Frye and Anderson are TERRIBLE QB's, yikes.

The Steelers are a pretty mediocre team, with rather slightly above average, aging talent.I'm much more concerned with Balt than I am Pittsburgh, IMHO. Anyways, they're already chanting for Quinn. And the Stealers WR's can't catch a ball.
Stripes
Given recent happenings in the NFL, I'm hardpressed to call Pittsburgh mediocre without calling Cincinnati mediocre too. I expect both teams to finish ahead of Baltimore.

But with our D, lord I just don't know. At any rate, I think it will be a 3 team race in this division any way you go. I'm just not impressed with the Steelers, especially with the Browns as their judging point.

The Browns O-line was HORRIBLE. Frye and Anderson had no time to throw, but they kept trying to force it anyway and that lead to sacks and INTs. bwillycuse
Wonder how the Arkansas or WV RB will look in stained brown next August? Not going to happen, they traded that pick to Dallas. For Quinn.
jjakq27
Steiny did his best swinging gate impression a few times today. That change of scenery did him no good. The Bengals better take care of business next week against these guys.
HairOnFire
The play where Cleveland was guilty of yet another blunder as well as four penalties summed up their day. However, the single most lasting impression I came away with was how horrible their secondary played. I thought Pittsburgh was going to target Eric Wright, the rookie CB, all game long....and they certainly did early. But as it turned out there were two players who were easier targets for plucking, Brodney Pool and Sean Jones. I swear those guys didn't make a play all game long. I found myself over at the Dawgbones.com forum, and those guys are ready to commit Hari Kari en mass. They need a leader on the field. Sadly for them, they do not yet have one. Maybe Brady Quinn will change that.
cincy9275
the browns they look worse than i though. i mean they look like they took a step back from last season, and they where real bad ten. i think the real question is what happens first romeo gets fired or quinn starts? also hope stieny likes it up there. i bet that paycheck he gets makes him feel better lol. BengalszoneBilly
i think the real question is what happens first romeo gets fired or quinn starts?I say it's easily Quinn starting. Possibly as early as next week. Frye and Anderson had nothing. Nada. Zip.
DC_Bengals_Fan
As pointed out elsewhere, the funniest part is that the Cowboys may now well get a #1 overall pick next year for letting the Browns jump about 10 spots and draft Brady Quinn. Hope it was worth it!
HoosierCat
Cleveland was downright awful. I'm not sure they could beat Michigan right now. I think I picked 4-6 weeks before Quinn starts in the other thread; now I think we may see him as soon as the second half next weekend. The PatternMaster
Well, if give up more than 17 points, Bres should be fired, no?
duus
I'm going to withhold judgment on both the Browns and Steelers until I see both play a few more games. Based upon one game, it is undeniably obvious that the Steelers look really good and even at mid-season form, and the Browns downright stink at the corners, safety, o-line, quarterback, on and on. Should the Bengals do the same to the Browns next week, I will consider this single game more of an indication of the Browns ineptitude than the Steelers domination ... specifically, because I just don't see the Bengals as a 'dominant' team (both sides of the ball, etc) this year. All that said, it may be another month or more before we really know about the '07 Steelers as they play a collective group of teams in September that would arguably not be ranked in the top 5 in the division 1 college poll (I'm not sold on SF and Arizona, obviously). I'd have said not a snap before week 8 if Crennel weren't on the hotseat; as it is next week is a good possibility.I can't imagine being thrown into this is going to be good for his career, long term. Good way to turn your #1 pick into Joey Harrington.
HairOnFire
Nobody asked me, but if I'm Romeo I start Anderson next week. He makes quicker decisions than Frye.....and there's no way I make Quinn the starter until I'm confident that I won't have to pull him when things start melting down. There's no way I could pull that trigger now.
