DC_Bengals_Fan
It was channel 9 but hey its Chris Henry if you hear he was arrested honestly what is the first thing that comes to mind. With his purty mouth? Don't think I can answer that, this is a family board here.

BengalszoneBilly
Anonymous source tells channel 5 that the kid's claims are BS...http://www.wlwt.com/news/13493413/detail.htmlPlease God let that be the case.I just heard on WLW that the kid might get charged for lying about the whole thing. I knew this sounded like bulls**t.Yeah, but it looks like there's already another investigation underway. I was just watching the ISS solar array retraction on NASA TV, and someone said Henry was wanted in connection to the damage to the thermal blanket covering the Shuttle's portside OMS. NASA engineers originally thought the tear happened at liftoff, but an anonymous source told NASA TV that shortly after the Shuttle got to orbit, a black Escalade pulled up next to it, and Chris Henry chucked a beer bottle at the Shuttle, which tore the blanket. Now, I think this story has all kinds of problems, like how does an Escalade get into space, but given Henry's history you can't completely rule it out... Only you or "Hair" could make this sound plausible!

angst
...I read the article and I'm well aware of what the author is talking about, but there's a difference between hanging out with an entourage of guys who around you for your money and status than hanging out with your little brother. You can't lump them together because it's not the same situation. As far as Henry's concerned, what did you expect him to do after Katrina hit, tell his family "ya'll can't stay with me even though your homeless and I just signed a million dollar contract". What type of a**h*** turns his back on his friends and family when they are in legitimate need and you have the means to help? Henry doesn't have cut ties with everyone he's ever known in life before he made it to the NFL to be successful, he just needs to make better decisions ....Henry and Odell are in delicate situations. It would make sense to avoid all appearance of impropriety. Of course you don't turn your back on your friends and family -- financially support them through their difficult times. You do not have to live with them to accomplish that. You can still physically distance yourself and stay in touch. They need to observe a self imposed curfew and concentrate on protecting their NFL future.

It appears the Vatican is -- for the moment -- supressing a new translation of the Book of Genesis based on work done by Hebrew scholars at the University of Tel Aviv. In working with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, these scholars have produced what they call a more accurate version of the first book of the Bible. Among the notable changes is that the word "serpent" in the Garden of Eden story is more precisely rendered as "Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman." There is no word yet on whether the revelation that Odell is the Prince of Darkness will have any effect on his pending reinstatement in the league... For once I skipped my morning ritual of yammering online and somehow in the process managed to miss an entire Bengal scandal from beginning to end. From wild accusations greedlily reported by an incompetent local press, to predictable moralizing from the local retards, to the now predictable ending where the accuser is exposed as a liar. In short, yet another example of the type of profiling that douchebags like Shula ignorantly insist are totally unfounded. Frankly, the people of Cincinnati need to get their act together because in my humble opinion they're embarrassing themselves more than their football team ever could. ArmyBengal
I missed this whole thing as well, but as it appears, I missed nothing more than people calling each other names. To stay on topic I will say, when is Henry going to do something about these idiots ?? Can't he sue them or something ?? I don't know why I even mention it, because I really don't care. I always hope to see Odell and Henry in stripes, with their lives headed in the right direction (Still no reason to NOT believe that at this point), but also believe this team can go on (in a winning direction) without them IF NEED BE...Off topic, the whole calling names really needs to end. Regardless of your opinion of another members post, there is no reason to personally attack them. Public opinion can frustrate the hell out of you, but this site is set up for fans of the Bengals to express their opinions, regardless if you believe them to be right or wrong. membengal
I scanned the morning papers and the TV websites, looking for confirmation that the kid definitely made the story up (I would like to update my blog) but didn't see anything. What am I missing? Where are you all getting that from? The only thing I saw was WLWT saying a league source called it made up (which PFT echoed). Have we seen anything definitive? Thanks. agreen_112
Here's the bad part about all this... Most people in the tri-state area, people who don't come to message boards, only hear these "rumors" and think "Henry is the stupidest son of a bitch ever!" or "He's done, he'll never learn". They don't know the facts, only what they may catch on the radio or a brief segment on the news. To your everyday average Joe, Henry is typically hated. These last 3 incidents have NOT been his fault and his name has been dragged through the dirt and then to make it worse add the 8 game suspension... But then again, most of those same people (fairweather) will be the first to cheer for Henry when he makes that 1st amazing TD grab... I just hope that people will realize that Henry has changed his ways and wants to better himself before its too late and He wants out of Cincy. I will have to take the opposite approach of many people on this board and say that until he stays out of trouble for 2-3 years, I'll assume that he is still doing some of the same things he has done before. Wasn't it Carson Palmer that spoke out for Henry saying he was doing so well, then a week later Henry got a DUI?A guy that was a trouble maker and cleaned up was a guy like Chris Carter...Look at a guy like Ray Lewis, he hasn't been in trouble since the Super Bowl where that guy got killed, afterwards Lewis seperated himself from the trouble makers he hung out with, yet many people on this board would assume him guilty if a story broke that was similar to the Henry one. Ray Lewis hasn't been arrested or broke the law in years! My Grandmother always told me, "You are judged by the company you keep, whether its fair or not." I truly believe that, and sadly it seems that whenever a player is with Henry, they get into trouble also. And that is my opinion...

They don't know the facts, only what they may catch on the radio or a brief segment on the news.Anyone who relies on message boards for facts (to quote Dave Lapham) "has more issues than a magazine stand." Last time I checked, you watch the news or listen to the radio for facts, not an internet message board where any jackhole can fabricate whatever they want. And 9 times out of 10, the radio and TV will state the FACTS, just like this story: Henry and McNeal have been accused of assaulting a 16 yr old kid. Neither have been charged and police are investigating. End of story. I guarantee not one radio or television news entity has stated they actually did or did not commit the assault in question, just that they've been ACCUSED of it. I've got a picture I will send to Billy to show the negative effects that Henry global warming can cause !!! Billy when you get it, please feel free to post it !!!That's not Henry, that's Pacman who is being investigated in connection with global warming. However, sources at Interpol say that charges are being prepared against Chris Henry as the man who forged the infamous Niger yellowcake documents cited by President Bush in the runup to the Iraq war. And a related investigation has found that the missing Iraqi WMDs were not, in fact, smuggled across the border to Syria, but instead shipped to Tank Johnson's house... Frankly, the difference of opinon is what keeps things going in a thread. If everyone agreed, it would get boring as hell !!! WHODEY !!!I hear ya, but as a Bengals fan I find it very frustrating that other fans are so quick judge the players, regardless of their past, before the facts are all on the table. When Henry was found guilty of pulling a gun on those people in Orlando I spoke out against him and said what he did was extremely stupid and he should be punished for it, but when he as done nothing wrong and he's trying to do his best to be a productive person on and off the field I think he should get the benefit of the doubt and be thrown under the bus by the same people who claim to support him. As for Odell I think people are really over-reacting to his crimes. He's a young guy who failed a couple of drug test and got busted for a DUI, but people act like he murdered someone grandma and raped a baby. At 22 presidents, CEO's, and many successful people from all walks of life would have failed drug test and have I know guy in DC who got a DUI in is 20's but many of you still voted for him to be president not once but twice, so I guess we hold our MLB's to a higher standard than our President?? Everyone was disappointed that Odell missed the entire 2006 season but that is in the past and there are only 2 options to move forward with in the future. One would be to cut ties with Thurman and let another team deal with his enormous talent but shaky standing with the NFL or to help him get his life on track and hope he matures into the man that everyone wants him to be. I say the latter is the best option because we need his talent, we've invested a high draft pick and money into him already, and the organization has had to deal with the negative press so worst is over, I hope. It seems as if Thurman will be allowed to try to earn back a spot on this team and I think as fans of the Bengals we should support him and if something negative comes up about him in the press we should wait until there is an arrest or better yet a conviction before he his judged and drug through the mud.Noone is perfect, when high profile athletes who are young and are suddenly richer than anyone in there entire family as even been before you might have 1 or 2 of them run afoul of the law. But that doesn't make them "low life's" or public enemy #1 and they should be given the chance to redeem themselves and show that they can grow and mature into productive men and players in their community and the organization that they play for. HairOnFire
Off topic, the whole calling names really needs to end. Regardless of your opinion of another members post, there is no reason to personally attack them. I strongly disagree. In fact, I think there shuld be more name calling, and if possible.....mind-numbing profanity. When responding to individual opinions it's easy to say that you agree or disagree, but over time we all get a sense of a persons personality. So why should we willingly censure ourselves by refusing to acknowledge how we feel about posters that we've come to think of as friends, rivals, or even douchebags? Let's face it, as a communication tool smilies have their limitations. they can even be confusing if used improperly. So if a writer feels it's important to let someone else know what they really think of them why shouldn't they be able to get quickly to the heart of the matter? Frankly, name calling has gotten a bad reputation mostly because people do it badly. They too often show a lack of creativity or make the common mistake of calling someone a definative name instead of addressing that persons behavior at any given moment. For example, I think we can all agree that Kid Steakhouse is a dedicated 24/7 sort of douchebag....while others here, including myself, simply act like douchebags from time to time. And here's the payoff. There's absolutely nothing that prevents any of us from agreeing with the individual opinions of posters that we've previously identified as being douchebags. For example, on rare occasions I've openly found myself agreeing with a well known fugtard like our beloved yet reviled Kid Steakhouse, and I believe doing so gives more weight to our temporary agreement. It becomes notable precisely because of the lack of respect that we've previously shown each other. Finally, when considering the relative merits of name calling there's the whole sticks and stones thing to remember. Ehhh?
