BengalszoneBilly
I find it very heartening the way Chuck Bresnahan has the defense working now, especially with the playoffs looming ahead. The team has seem to built momentum off of it, and I hope it continues Monday night in Indianapolis! Who Dey!!!

MacD BengalFan
The only question is whether the 32nd pass defense can handle the #2 passing offense in the league. The Bengals handled New Orleans passing offense with 4 INT's but gave up 500+ yards passing. We know the run defense should be able to keep things under control, but I am concerned about the pass defense going aganst Peyton and company. But as we're getting healthier we're steadily improving, so I think our ranking makes us seem far worse than we really are. With the LB corp coming together and finally some healthy safeties, we should be able to hold our own on Mon night. Also a lucky break for the Bengals is the questionable health of Dallas Clark, who tore us apart when we met last year.
Tasher
No! Not really, no! I'm very disappointed with the late score that we gave up to Baltimore and the late TD that we gave up to Oakland. Come on, it was Oakland, for Chriss-sakes. CBin2k7
I have been against Chuck B. and the D for a while, but I have to give credit. The Bengals have taken a more agressive approach to defense in the last 4 weeks. They have attacked on 3rd down, instead of rushing 3 dropping 8 and getting picked apart. The LB play has been good lately, Landon, Caleb and Jeanty have all played well. JJ has played damn well for a rookie. The play of KK has really elevated as well.I think the SD game woke Chuck up and along with the return to health of some key players, the Bengals have now been attacking. I much rather lose attacking on defense, than let the opponents dictate to you.
BengalszoneBilly
My major relief has not having to watch the Bengals defense get run the f**k over week in and week out. The job they did handling Jamal Lewis and the Ravens running attack was awesome! That was the key to the win in that game IMHO.
Bengalhead
Yeah, me too. I was one of the crowd who was dogging the defense (rightfully so at the time). But I'll also give them some props for coming together in the last few weeks. Here's to shutting down the Indianapolis Pony's too!!
ShulaSteakhouse
They're finally playing up to their talent level now - they are as talented as anyone else outside of Baltimore on defense and people don't talk about that much around the league. They have a DE with 10.5 sacks, a #3 safety with what, 6-7 INT's and 3.5 sacks? 4 interchangeable LB's and two of the best young CB's in the game (Deltha/JJ) and two more than can at least be competent. When it all comes together for this team like it has lately - they are better than anyone - period. The offense will score points every week regardless - the defense needs to keep following suit and play up to their talent level every week. volcom69
Ive been very happy latley with the d this week scares me alittle though, if we dont get any pressure on manning at all he will pick apart our D just like he picked apart others. That Jac. game the Indy WR were dropping passes and wernt helping Manning out so im alittle worried, but lets hope we can get some pressure and play very physical. Anyone know if Deltha is going to play this week.
ArmyBengal
Seeing as how Billy is the one starting this thread, I will cut some slack... That being said, I haven't seen many games as of late, but have a question... Outside of Baltimore, has Cleveland and Oakland become rushing powerhouses that our defense should take great joy in shutting down ?? Not being smart, seriously asking, as I haven't kept up for sh*t since being in training. Last I remember though, both those teams sucked ass !!! Billy, I'm all for getting off the defense's nuts for getting ran the f*ck over all the time, but is this really the time ?? If it is, then count me in !!! If not, I'll go back to pounding nails through my scrotum, as that seems to give me more pleasure than watching our defense most of the time !!! Take it easy all !!!WHODEY !!! derekshank
I don't know how you couldn't be happy with how the D has played the last 3 games. Less than 6 points/game, allowing less than 250 yards/game... it's been very impressive. The key is to actually keep it up.I don't think anyone expects us to keep up those kind of stats. I'd be pretty satisfied with right in between what we've given up the last 3 weeks, and what we gave up the previous 10 games.
Kazkal
I'm happy with it but gotta remember was 3 of the worst offenses in the nfl.
HoTbOy
I am very happy also since I have been on the D coordinator quite a few times, but I swear I have been very optimistic because they let teams run/pass up and down the field, then they seem to get that needed 3 & out and hold them to a field goal...that giving up 500+ yards to the Saints is still in the back of my mind....run D has been good with an occasional 10-15 yard run in there every now and then...it just seems like 1 thing gets fixed and it takes away from the other somehow...last year pass D was good run was average...this year run D has stepped it up and teams are throwing like crazy...and like some people have said, these teams are not offensive powerhouses...
