They could really give us a leg up by hanging a loss on the Ravens in Baltimore this weekend! That would be a huge setup for the following big Thursday night game on November 30th with the Ratbirds coming into Cincy for a showdown!

:bengal: To our resident Baltimore fan "Arizona"...get ready for some Avatar changing payback!! :bengal:

You know I've been thinking about that all week, Billy. As much as it would kill me to root for the Steelers, I think I'm just going to pull for Baltimore to lose. Yikes this is a tough one to call...

As a Bengals fan, no matter what scenario, you NEVER root or cheer for the steelers to win!! You root for the other team to lose the game. If you want the steelers to win once, it's going to be easier the next time, and the next time, and the next. Before you know it, you start experimenting with yellow towels, and then you start to think Roethlisberger isn't such a bad QB, then you want to grow your hair out like Polamalu and wear his jersey. It's a gateway method, my friend, to more dangerous things...

Frankly folks, it's OK to say that for one day, you're a fan of (take your pick) the Steelers, the Ravens, or the Browns, if one of those teams help us get to the playoffs by beating another team contending for the same playoff spot. No, I haven't changed my mind, I still don't think we make it, but hey, if we win the next two games and some other pieces fall into place, the odds change dramatically.

This year, we need help - a lot of it - to make the playoffs. So yes, count me as a fan for one day only of the Steelers, who I know have it in them to beat the Ravens.

That said, since the Ravens losing will likely not help our cause much (the division crown is all but lost) I am a MUCH bigger fan (this week only) of the Texans, Bills, and Raiders, who I pray will each hang a loss on an AFC wild card contender.

UNACCEPTABLE!!

The only thing you can hope for, within the bounds of good karma, is a highly highly localized earthquake that only hits the field and doesn't hurt anybody, but causes both teams players to take the measure of their lives, right there on the field, quit football, and force the NFL to give them both forfeit defeats.

Rooting for the Steelers...I don't even know you people anymore...

I gotta agree with 'zona on this one. As much as it pains me, I will probably be pulling for the Ravens. I really think it will be difficult for the Bengals to overcome a three game deficit within a six game period. So I will all but concede the division title if it means that the Steelers don't get back into it.

It's the principle of the thing! :bengal:

This was about the funniest thing I have read in a while....thanks :-)

agh

i cant even root for either of em ill just check the score later and probably be happy with either result

id rather see the ravens lose though

no way i could actually watch the game and cheer ben on cause that guy is awful

If the Steelers win, the Bengals will have a legit shot in the North. So, I'll root for those bastards. With a Steelers win, and a Bengals win over the Rats next week... 1 game back (assuming a victory over the Browns).

Hey, they did their job. The Ravens will be coming into town with a lot of confidence and we got to rest our starters in the fourth quarter.

Oh wait, that's bad for you.

Err the Bengals' rested their starters in the 4th quarter also.

The Bengals' were also playing poorly last time they met in Baltimore, and that was a very close game.

Both teams trounced two bad teams last weekend and have short weeks, and got to rest their starters a bit.

Of course the Bengals, cannot go a week without having someone go on season-ending IR though.

It should be a damn good game with a lot at stake for both teams ultimately, but not sure how much hype/coverage the game will get unless Palmer starts dating Jessica Simpson or they sign one of the Barber twins or Terrell Owens.

I simply admit that I could not bring myself to actually root FOR the Steelers in that game. Yet, as I watched it, I pretty much decided that I would be fine regardless of who won. Sitting here in Pissburgh, and watching that game unfold (muted ... listening to the Bengal game over the net), I couldn't help but get more and more excited every time I saw another purple jersey come in and clock Benji. Then when both games ended in total domination of the opponent, I simply told my wife that this was about as perfect a day I could ever want ... Bengals throttle the Browns, shutting them out 30 to zip, while the Steelers get man-handled in a similar fashion 27-0.

Her response? Just wait until New Year's Eve when the Bengals get to do the same to the Steelers themselves.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Will be a beautiful day indeed.

I DON'T AGREE. I CAN NEVER ROOT FOR THE BLACK AND URINE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. WE REALLY HAVE NO CHANCE AT WINNING THE DIVISION OUTRIGHT. OUR BEST CHANCE IS THE WILDCARD. I WANT THE SQUEALERS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CELLAR........WHERE THEY BELONG. KEEP LOSING PISSBURGH AND I WILL KEEP ON SMILING!

DUUS......WERE YOU AS AMPED AS I WAS WHEN YOU GOT TO SEE 9 SACKS REPLAYED WITHIN A 30 SECOND TIME PERIOD.......I WAS IN HEAVEN (I DIDN'T KNOW AKRON, OHIO COULD FEEL SO GOOD!)

Pure and simple joy. The only thing that would make it better would be for the Orange and Black to throw down the same hurtin' on them. It was a day I remember for a long, long time.

The Steelers are primed for a rebound in '07, and I really don't care to see them with a top 15 draft pick.

I hope they win as many games as possible without beating the Bengals and making the playoffs.

Hey Arizona...are we still up for another round of Avatar wagering?

:lmao:

Are you sure she's from Pittsburgh?

Bengals shut out the Steelers? Hahahaha, good one!

Now, TDB knows what he's talking about. I knew there was a reason I consider you the smartest bengals fan I've ever seen.

Absolutely sure ... she just has the good fortune of meeting someone from 'the outside' of Urine Land, which opened her eyes to the fact that the world outside is far, far better.

Hmmm ... shut out? Let's see ... Ravens 27, Steelers 0 ... Bengals 13, Ravens 7. Uh, I think it is very possible, dare I say likely.

So she picked Cincinnati over Pittsburgh? Dude, being with you must have mesed up her mind.

Anyway, didn't the Ravens beat you the first time this year? Bet they were feeling pretty confident that they could beat you again. If anything, this just shows how hard it is to sweep a division rival.
