walzav29
I'm willing to guarantee Joseph starts this week somewhere. Injury or not.
fattyjay
If Delta can't go, then hopefully they line Joseph up against Colston. Rookie vs. rookie is better than old man James getting burnt the entire game. Plus if they match James up against Joe Horn, maybe he'll be able to keep up since Horn has been out with either a knee or hammy (I can't remember which). All in all it should be interesting to see how the secondary responds. At least this game they don't have a premier running back to worry about, so Madieu and whoever else is at safety can focus on pass coverage. Tasher
Keiwan and Jonathan starting corners with H. Jones and Kase starting safeties!Oh Yeah! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!
TJJackson
Word is that Big Bobbie Williams is also hurting badly, so I am guessing we'll see Kooistra, Andrews, or (dare I say it) Wilkerson in there at RG against the Saints

Whitworth Steiny Ghiaciuc Andrews Kooistra would be the starting line!Although, just to reassure everyone, Big Willie is listed as probable and has been for the past couple of weeks, and has still played.Man! ShulaSteakhouse
These guys need to suck it up and play.Although I think this team, because of the injuries and the defense in general, is dead in the water now.

Stripes
These guys need to suck it up and play.Easy for you to say. This does suck though... The laws of balance are killing us this year after we avoided injuries so well last season.
schweinhart
Sure seems like in the past any time O'Neal was listed as questionable it was just another way of saying he would be out.Jeez....K2 and Keiwan in the nickel. Times like these make it seem more likely that the Bengals go after another 1st round corner and maybe another 2nd round safety or free agent. I really dread watching Keiwan try to play either the slot or wide. K2 has produced decently this year but we'll see what the layoff has done if he is playing. He would almost certaintly make Keiwan relegated to the free agency line.Marvin and Co. have neglected the safety position in the draft for too long. Dexter's injury history should tell you something, they need to groom someone as a replacement SS, they need to find that hard hitting safety that brings intensity. It's okay if the SS is average in coverage, this defense needs some inforcers.
agreen_112
If we stick Keiwan in the nickle, you might as well give the saints every 3rd and long 3rd down. Joseph should always be the nickle corner and if we need to, stick Keiwan at Deltha's spot when the Saints play 3 WR's.

bengalboomer7
Marvin has been especially hard on the secondary this week, and i really expect to see different faces in there. TDB gets his wish this week, and Joseph will be our new starting corner, with Tory james in the nickel. This of course, is if Deltha is healthy enough to start, and I'd imagine in three reciever sets, JJ will play the slot and James the outside. This only happens if Deltha can play, though. And I STILL think Keiwan could make a tough safety, but will never be a good corner. bengal4life
Is it possible, if O'neal and Jackson are out, we play a cover two a lot this game due to our secondary not being able to play man.
derekshank
WR's haven't been our problem. It's been TE's... and this is the first team we've faced in a month that doesn't have a top 5 TE. It's one of the few things that is somewhat promising about this game. We've been gashed by Crumpler, Heap, and Gates in the past 3 straight weeks. The last game we won... the Panthers, who have no formidable threat at TE.Really... look at it. In every game we've lost this season, we've given up big plays to TE's. Against New England we gave up 5 catches for 69 yards and a TD to Graham and Watson. Against Tampa, a game decided by 1 point, we gave up 4 catches for 22 yards (1 first down conversion and 1 TD)Against Atlanta we gave up 4 catches to Crumpler for 72 yards. 3 of the catches were for 1st downs... the other was for a TD.Against Baltimore we gave up 4 catches for 84 yards. Each catch was for a 1st down.Against San Diego we gave up 7 catches to Gates and Manumaleuna for 83 yards and 2 TD's. You can't blame these losses soley on our inability to cover TE's, but... there's also no denying that they have killed us more than any other one position. With the health issues we've had at LB and Safety this season, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise... but it will be nice to go against a team that lacks a top-tier TE for a change. I do agree that covering the TE is a problem, but last week, Malcolm Floyd/LT were the main reasons the defense gave up the big lead. HoosierCat
Great. Just great...The Bengals offered another surprise before the game when Caleb Miller drew the start at middle linebacker over rookie Ahmad Brooks. With Deltha O’Neal (shoulder) and strong safety Dexter Jackson (Achilles) inactive, rookie Johnathan Joseph and Kevin Kaesviharn got the starts at their respective spots.Just what we needed: more flux at LB. In terms of injuries, this is the most snakebit team I have ever seen...
