Kazkal
Brought a smile to my face even though he was injured,NFL network ripped on henry some saying he was able keep himself out of jail long enough to get 100 yards and a TD

dcbengal1
A few observations:KC and Denver are 6-6 in the 4th at Denver and Larry Johnson again has 100 yards. Guess that patchwork KC line can block well enough against SOME teams....Other posts were saying the Bengals were allowing only 13 some points per game and very few big plays (except for the 75 yarder today, eerily similar to the Frisman Jackson play against Odell last year). We had almost identical stats through 4 games last year until Madieu went down. Clearly if the offense is at full strength we have what it takes to win a shootout against the Steelers this year, but that's a big if currently. I do feel worlds more confident against the run, however, with DJ out they could break some big plays late in the game that could make the difference, if we don't have sufficient cushion. Hopefully Jacksonville will do some whaling against their O and D lines and bang them up some for us, with a short week to recover.Make that 126 yards for LJ and Duane Huard is 17/21. Either Denver really sucks and we're actually lucky we're playing them this year (I was really dreading going into Denver late in the year) or we were lucky we played KC early. Kazkal
Well Carson tore up a healthy ravens defense...then again it was a 3-4 defense and like ray said he ain't a 3-4 LB o_O
dcbengal1
The ravens haven't faced a team with an offense yet, we'll see. McNair and Lewis actually had very mediocre games

membengal
1. Thank God for the depth we all saw in August, we need it and right quick. Good thing the bye is early, if we get to it 3-1, we should all do the chicken dance...2. Carson Palmer's greatness is underappreciated. Makeshift line, one of fave receivers out, against a team that has given him fits in his career, and he carved them up. Everyone on the field was a threat on any given pass. And, let's be clear about this, he is nowhere near in sync like he will be. At some point this year, it will all click in. In the meantime, my God.3. Nice to see the line put the hammer down in the 4th and Rudi put it away. Then again, the amount of time the Cleveland defense was on the field prior to that thanks to a lot of good work by the Cincy D meant that Cleveland was simply out of steam. That used to happen to the Bengals a fair deal.4. Sam Adams in the middle is an unreal beast. Drew blockers, freed up gaps for LBs, swallowed up runs. I may be in love.5. Let's hope Dex Jackson isn't gone past the bye week. I like KK as the dime, but he isn't the same as a starter, we all know that.6. I like this team's mindset. I thought the trap worry on here was nonsense, and they showed it to be that. Came out, focused, and started trading punches with a division foe. Nice. Now they can get ready for the Steelers, marshal what health they have, and get ready for a nasty game. The Bengals picked a good year to finally get a team together that was professional in its approach and able to slug with teams in the trenches. The schedule puts a premium on that ability.Nice win. I had them at 10-6 in the pre-season predictions in these spaces, I may have been short by a game. If they get to the bye 3-1, it is a nice trajectory to be on... Stripes
The Bengals dominated this game in just about every way they could, aside from field position. My only complaints are the terrible game from Tory and the flurry of injuries. Ox
Just got home from the game, and first thing is, that our crowds are effing nasty. It was as loud today as I have heard it in a while. Funny part is the loudest I heard it was after the Bud Light presents "Mr. Bengal Fan" on the big screen. It was halarious. Our guys are absolute warriors, even with all of the injuries. Also, I just can't wrap my brain around the reason Brat insists on calling passing plays on obvious running downs with 2 minutes left. That's a good way to get Chad killed. All in all, Rudi is a monster, and so is our offense when we're clicking and Carson gets his timing on track. I just hope our boys aren't out for too long. BengalszoneBilly
The Bengals dominated this game in just about every way they could. This same thing was noted by the Browns fans at the "Dawg Bones" forum, which he then followed with this comment:I wish a comet would hit Ohio right about now.To say they're a bit down is an understatement. They're ready to lynch Crennel any minute now.
ohwhyknott
Baltimore scares me more than Pitt. The Ravens have needed a QB forever. It was pretty obvious, they were tough, when they won the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. What if it was someone like Carson Palmer pulling the strings---scary! HoosierCat
The Browns will be back eventually, but c'mon: what did Crennel have to work with? At least Marvin had most of the pieces on O in place, all he had to do was plug in Carson. On D we had jack spit; only this year are we looking at something halfway decent. It's gonna take Romeo a couple more years. They have a few good players but it's gonna take another couple drafts & FAs to make something happen. The upside, such as it is, is that Balti is doing the "one last roll of the dice" bit with McNair. Even if they win this year their long-term prospects are what, Boller? Pitt is aging, too, at a lot of positions. And us a couple years from now? Maybe Adams is done, Willie, Simmons, TJ gettin' up there. But hopefully we have a couple Lombardis by then
schweinhart
Palmer is a machine. Good to see him take some licks and not skip a beat. They could probably put 4 NFLE nationals out there and he's still shred defenses. As pitiful as the Clowns are, it was still a good test to get ready for the 3-4's the O has got to deal with the next 2 weeks and then after that the multiple scheme of the Ratbirds. The defense is excellent. No Dex Jack hurts and watching James get roasted deep by Edwards with K2 trailing in from centerfield felt like a bad flashback from late last season. But the D-line is so much stronger at the point of attack and even if they don't get sacks, there's more pressure and less time for the QB to throw. I'm pretty surprised we haven't had a "How much does Brat suck?" poll posted yet. Not to be a hypocrite, though... I always whine about him.I think his playcalling recovered there in the end. There was a stretch in the third where we had a solid lead and he got pass-happy...and we ended up having to give the ball back without running much time off the clock. But it looks like someone reminded him we had a lead and Rudi, and after that he was OK...
ArmyBengal
It was what I thought it would be, minus the injuries and couldn't have asked more from Rudi today... Actually their D is pretty solid, but the O can't stay on the field for more than 3 plays at a time. I also think we were lucky to get KC early. No matter how bad their season is going, they are virtually unbeatable at Arrowhead in December. The consensus here is that we will roll over the Broncos in December. That's a long way off though. agreen_112
At first I was a little dissapointed with Brats' playcalling, especially on the third and 1 situation. I didn't like the way he kept running rudi on those stretch plays to the outside either. By the middle of the third quarter I noticed that it was all part of the plan to wear down the defense, b/c when he started calling the runs between the tackles Rudi was pounding the ball. I really think that Brat had planned this for his run attack. The passing was good, even though we were missing Levi, Housh and then Braham. Brat your an offensive genuis, who is always overlooked and mostly hated b/c of the "dillon era" but has completely revamped himself... With the defensive mind of Marvin and the offensive mind of Brat' the Bengals are one of the best coached teams in the League.
