Kazkal Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Wow, im surprised Henderson & McNeal got cut!!! Who did you think they were going to cut instead? Frostee and Tab?No Palmer & CJ. with some of yer polls I woulden't dount that Quote
jditty47 Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 i like the final roster. once perry comes back off of pup, i would like to see them cut watson or wilson...doesnt really matter to me. id also like to see mcneal make it to the PS and then make the roster mb later in the season and doug johnson cut eventually when carson is about 6-8 weeks into the season.only 2 upgrades i can see from the waiver wire so far is lee suggs for wilson or watson (if suggs is healthy that is) and darius watts at WR over washington, but we all know that wont happen. DC_Bengals_Fan Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 I've heard a few sarcastic comments about people who didn't think Peko would make it - seriously, who the hell said that, and did they watch any of the games? Peko's been great.I think if Rucker weren't a 3rd, he'd have gotten cut. Of course, if they hadn't blown a 3rd on him in the first place...bah. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 A few thought henderson had more of a chance of making it over peko..... I don't get how anyone could h8 on peko on his mane before preseason even started. Quote
Wraith Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 8 LBers means no Justin Smith hello 3-4 next year. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Not really it means hello our TE's suck Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 No real surprises,IMHO. I expected them to cut McNeal (and expect he will clear waivers and be signed to the PS). I look for Henderson and Wilkerson to be PS'd as well, if they clear waivers. I agree wiith those who suspect they are making a mountain out of a molehill with Brazell in order to keep him off the waiver wire. Quote
TJJackson Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 I guess TJ was wrong about Henderson having a better chance to make the final roster than Peko.ClearyI should mention that I posted about my change of heart re: Peko a couple of weeks ago. So that's old news.On the other hand, I remain confused why they were playing Henderson so much at defensive tackle rather than his natural position at DEAnother puzzler. I didn't get the watch game 4, but I look at the stat sheet (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20060901_CIN@IND) and there he is....2 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. I don't know what more you can expect from a rookie DL you are asking to play at least two different positions...... Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Can't see anyone adding Henderson, Dorsey, Wilkerson or McNeal to their active roster at this point, and at least one of them is a good bet to make the roster next year if they improve.McNeal, Wilkerson and Henderson are ideal NFLE candidates, ecspecially McNeal, where he can get high level exp at WR. TJJackson Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 I can't recall AJ Nicholson or Frostee the Slowman doing anything in the preseason of note.....I am guessing Nicholson will be the waived player when Odell comes back from his suspensionI am hearted by the fact that nearly every source I have read puts Henderson as a virtual lock on the practive squad Quote
Tasher Posted September 3, 2006 Author Report Posted September 3, 2006 Hey TJ, when are you going to update your avatar? Reggie Myles is SO last year! Quote

bengalsrz Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Someone wanna tell me wher Chris Perry is???!! Quote
Kazkal Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Gonna be sitting on the bench for 6 weeks Quote
bengalsrz Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Oh, i see... that sucks, one of my fav players. Quote
BengalChamps Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 I would have liked to have seen Reggie! kept instead of the "Castoff"(Chatman). If ML thinks Wilk cant play, then ill buy that...but i bet he is on his way up I-71 right now. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 It is a shame sense he's the reason we don't need a pass catching TE and now we don't have him eh. Quote
Stripes Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Looks like things panned out pretty predictably. If Brazell weren't "hurt," I think he'd be there instead of Chatman. I don't think Henderson will clear waivers given all the attention he got after the draft, but McNeal should be fine.Every single position except tight end is as deep as I have ever seen it. Quote

Although I would not put it past Marvin to keep 9 LBackers as we all now know that we are going to the 3-4 next year and Marvin will want backers. Quote

Although I would not put it past Marvin to keep 9 LBackers as we all now know that we are going to the 3-4 next year and Marvin will want backers. That's going to be a tough call when Odell comes back. And it's one of the reasons why I don't think we add a TE off the waiver wire. When you're dealing with special teams this year (Wilkins, Miller) and planning for a possible 3-4 next year (Brooks, Nicholson, Jeanty) a third TE might be a luxury.Hobson:The decision to go heavy at linebacker may have been the selection of Virginia linebacker Ahmad Brooks in the third round of the supplemental draft. While the team thinks he’ll be a fine player, Brooks has had trouble adjusting to his new role in the kicking game and the Bengals may opt not to suit him up on Gameday. Quote
Kirkendall Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Third tight end = the legendary Brad St. Louis Quote
Kazkal Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 hobson doesn't like 2 TE's (or 3 /cough) As for Kilmer, I’m not so sure the goal was to protect him. It sounds like they want him to play right now on special teams and you know Lewis has been talking about him even before the draft. And another rookie safety, John Busing, has a better chance at getting to the squad because he’s undrafted. And they’re going to need those special teamers even more, now that there are only two tight ends and Ahmad Brooks is one of the eight linebackers. Brooks probably isn’t going to dress early as he adjusts to playing special teams, and this is my biggest problem with the cutdown: Just two tight ends.Bob Bratkowski’s offense went down the tubes in 2001 and 2002 when they ignored the position and didn’t respond to injuries to Tony McGee and Marco Battaglia’s illness. One of the differences between Jon Kitna in 2001 and 2002 and his Comeback of the Year season in 2003 was due, in part, because of the emphasis back on tight ends. And I’m not saying Darnell Sanders or Ronnie Ghent is a future Antonio Gates. All I’m saying is if Kelly or Stewart gets hurt, they’ve got problems in the running game. That’s all. I guess they can go get Ghent on the practice squad if that happens, but how do you know he’s going to be there? Then you bring in a guy you can’t use because he doesn’t know the offense, and now how many formations can you use?Kind of a useless gamble to me. so has anyone been picked up off the waiver wire yet Quote
Kazkal Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Bears, steelers and dolphins have formed their practice squads /cry i wanna see oursBears, steelers and dolphins have formed their practice squads /cry i wanna see oursanysite besides kffl to see if any of our waived got signed? tired shifting through it lol Quote
