What's 5 thing's you want to see in the first Pre-Season game vs. the Redskins.

Here's my 5,

1. Johnathan Joseph get an Interception.

2. Reggie McNeal throw a TD to Bennie Brazell. That would be awesome!

3. Domata Peko pick up a fumble & return it for a TD like he did in college. ^_^

4. Tab Perry return a kick for a TD.

5. Eric Henderson get at least 3 sacks.

Who Dey!!!

My 5:

1. All QB's make it out healthy. Wright getting hurt would be well...bad.

2. No arrests before or after the game for players.

3. Rudi runs one time, then removes the shoulder pads.

4. 1st Defense gives up nothing but a few first downs. No points at all.

5. Caleb Miller make his case to make this team.

P.S. will eric henderson even make the practice squad?

:bengal:

1. Some drunk ass fan getting thrown out of the stadium after an old lady calls 1-800-SCREW-THIS-CRAP just before he starts a fight.

2. The fish Steiny caught.

3. The taser used to motivate Askew.

4. Chris Henry get some sense knocked into him going over the middle.

5. Carson Palmer smiling after playing one series without getting touched because his line freaking rocks.

Henderson has a much better chance of making the team than Peko, whose only mention in camp I am aware of was of Braham blocking him back to Florence.
Henderson has been impressive, and Hobson has been sure to mention that... but he's also been quick to mention that he has the biggest hill to climb as far as making the team. Without being too terribly anal, I skimmed through the recent articles on Bengals.com, and here are the only notes I found for Peko.

Peko has shown power and no doubt has the edge because he’s a draft pick.
Robinson is going to be holding the fort with the kids like Rucker and fourth-round tackle Domata Peko, another pick Robinson says will be around for a long time.
Doesn't sound like Peko is in terrible danger of being cut. If you're going to say Henderson has a better shot of making the team than somebody, it would probably be better to name guys like Thornton, Askew, or Fanene, because I think Peko would have to suck pretty bad for the next few weeks to not make the team.

I'm just glad I'll actually get to see a pre-season game. It will be the first one I've seen in 6 years (and I get 2 this year, woo-hoo!!). Here's what I'm wanting to see...

1. Ahmad Brooks jumping over both lines as the ball is snapped, for a sack, ala the play he made at UVA.

2. Jonathan Joseph looking better than Tory ever has in a Bengals uni

3. Radio completing more passes to Bengal receivers than Redskin DB's.

4. No arrests before, during, or after the game.

5. Peko peeing in Clinton Portis' helmet.

1) torey james playing like he has the last 3 seasons for us and staying our #1 corner...not oneal. teams shyed away from james last year...hence the oneal florrish. joseph has a long ways to go to unseat him.

2) carson back by the opener with confidence his knee will hold up

3) someone stepping up as a threat at punt return

4) simmons being the man in the middle like when spikes was around and we had a top 5 linebacker core - and a top 10 defense. most unhearalded player on defense in the league perhaps.

5) our past #1's pollack and perry step out of their injury funk and play an entire year without a major injury that'll keep them out any significant time. if this happens, imagine the possibilities. talk about a boost on both sides of the ball.

1. Naked cheerleaders.

Really really psyched about getting to see this one live. Thank you very much, 2005 success.

I want to see:

1. Some proof that Wright is getting a grasp of the offense.

2. Some indication that the defensive line (even without Adams) is doing a better job at holding their gaps and letting the linebackers run free to the ball.

Players I am looking forward to seeing:

1. Ahmad Brooks---my interest is definitely piqued at this point. Would love to see confirmation that he really might be a long-term solution in the middle.

2. Brazell---OK, let's see what that speed looks like.

3. Joseph and the rest of a secondary that is reportedly having a nice camp.

4. Eric Henderson and Frostee Rucker---nice to have young blood at DE again. Will they flash in the game? On a related note...curious about the re-slimmed down Geathers. Will we see his explosiveness again like it was two years ago?

5. Harder to track, but really curious about Andrews and Whitworth, particularly if they get time at Guard. Also, will be trying to watch Wilkerson and any snaps he gets at Center.

Can't wait. Thrilled to see it live (on TV live, anyway).

This is the quintessential HOPE forum of 2006 :lmao:

Ok I'll play.....................again.

1. Carson Palmer stay healthy all year.

2. RUN DEFENSE ! - We already know what we have in the secondary, but sooner or later, we have to have a defensive line that teams have to worry about !

3. Chris Perry and Rudi Johnson run for a combined 2000 yards. I don't care if Rudi gets 1,500 and Perry gets 500. But I would prefer to see Rudi run for 1250, and Perry run for 750. NO TEAM in the NFL could beat us with two healthy runningbacks and the passing game that we have.

4. PASS RUSH ! - The last time we had a real pass rush was 2001. Everyone was getting sacks. Hell even Reinard Wilson ( the official dumbest man in the 1997 draft ) had 9 sacks. Let's see Justin Smith get double digit sacks with at least 11. Sam Adams gets 6. John Thornton gets 7. And Bryan Robinson gets 7. Our linebackers record about 20- with Pollack getting about 7, Brian Simmons gets 4, O'Dell gets 3, Ahmad Brooks 3, and the secondary adds about 8. With Dexter Jackson having 4 of them.

* IN total that's at least 59 sacks ! I say we can do it, yeah maybe the interceptions come down, but what's wrong with having a couple less interceptions returned for touchdowns in place of a couple of sacks ,forced fumbles returned for touchdowns.

5. A SUPER BOWL WIN. This team is quietly being built for a dynasty like the one the Pats had. We're a Post season team now. NO GOING back. As long as we have this core talent of offensive and defensive players, most signed into the 2010 season or longer we should appear in at least 2 or 3 Super Bowls. We're 0 - 2 in Super Bowls. Let's say by the time 2010 get's here, Cincy is 2 - 2. With Wins over the Eagles and Giants.

Beating the piss out of the Skins! B)

I'm with this even if it is just preseason.

The Skins-Ratbird scrimmage was pretty intense and the Skins defense came out for the kill. The Bengals had better be ready to match the intensity. I'd like to see every Bengals that hits the field outplay their opposition on every play.

And beat the pi$$ out of the Deadskins it was

So much for vanished impressions in the aftermath of corruption

Now that the last 3 days of post game posts have come and went and are now gone for good, how about a quick capsule in review:

1. The defense looks very promising.

2. The Bengals offense misses its QB.

The offense under Anthony Wright never got off the ground -- 3 straight 3 and outs to start off the game. There was zero run blocking and backfield blitz protection broke down. It took a flea flicker and a long pass interefence penalty to get the Bengals offense moving, but Wright did threw about as perfect of a coner fade in the end zone that you'll ever see.

On to Buffalo.......

Recap continued....

Chris Perry writes instructional book about how to miss training camp every season.

Askew cut. National media ignores the fact that he was a longshot to make the team, and focuses on the idea that he was sacrificed upon the altar of bad character. My response? If Askew can fill the much needed role of sacrificial media ham then so much the better. Better him than Chris Henry, right?

Palmer and Lewis claim to be on the same page, but national media wonders if they're even reading the same book. Angry Marvin Lewis declares fatwah on fat John Madden.
