jjakq27
You walk around this city with ur s**ttynasty bunghole s**t on? Dude, what language are you "writing"? Beavis and Butthead are more coherent than you.surprised u havnt gotten run over yet. So am I, since its exactly the thuggish, classless thing I expect from Steelers fans.i walk through s**ttynasty with steelers s**t on all the time. Let me see if I understand you correctly: you walk around, hell I dont' know I assume you mean Pittsburgh, with s**t on your head? You, sir, are clearly insane.now i can do it wearing a Superbowl XL Champs shirt on! can you?? Well, technically, yes, and so could a certain referee crew I could name. Although personally I would rather have a tobasco enema than wear anything remotely resembling the Steelers logo.Dude, we laugh at Ben's misfortune because he's an idiot, but we don't wish him ill (or most of us anyway), we pray for his family and that he recovers quickly so he that he has no excuses when the Bengals kick his a-hole up through his shoulderblades. Go over to the smack talk thread, troll. And by the by, what the hell is up with your handle? Is that supposed to be some clever disguise? Gosh, you sure fooled me. Was that a transcript of Ben's first words after the wreck? Wow, what an idiot.I read that the broken jaw is the most serious injury. It will be wired shut until the beginning of training camp. However, he probably won't be ready to play until probably the 3rd or 4th week of training camp. By the time the Stillers are playing regular season games this will be a non-issue. (unless he gets banged in the jaw) If I were Big Ben I would not be getting into any fist fights for like the next year. (a direct hit to the jaw could easily rebrake it for at least the next 6 months) Is that Tommy Maddox's phone ringing in the background? Maybe Doug Flutie will pull a Roger Clemens and un-retire. HoosierCat
See you dont seem to get it Everyone wants to blame Ben and the fact he did not have a helmet on, no one has said anything about the person who caused the whole thing the driver of the car, who cares if ben did not have a helmet on it was his choice not to wear one, however it was not his choice to have someone run him over. While that's true, I think you're the one missing the point. Yes, it was ben's choice not to wear a helmet. The point is that that is a stupid choice. You need look no further than this accident to see that.Think of it this way: I have a choice of whether or not to stick my hand in an active wood chipper. If I do so, who is to blame for the result, the wood chipper or me?

duus
Local news in Pittsburgh has stated that they have been told that the Steelers will have an official announcement "later this evening". Information has been completely lacking. Anything you have heard since the surgeons reported last evening is complete rumor. As is typical, the news is being contained with absolutely zero leaking. That's the way they like to operate (no pun intended), and I am confident that we will not know the truest of details until we get it directly from the Steelers organization tonight and over the course of the next several weeks. HoosierCat
Memo from the "Dumb & Dumber" Dep't: it appears that not only did Ben not have a helmet, he didn't even have a license to operate a motorcycle, only an expired learner's permit.http://kdka.com/topstories/local_story_164115654.html

ArmyBengal
I have had to do a ton of reading on these kinds of injuries, and the brain can bounce around the skull at rather frightening rates, causing issues that are hard for even the specialists to understand or predict with any certainty. Absolutely, that reminds me of a patient I took care of years ago... He was a Special Forces Soldier who had a closed head injury and when he came to and appeared to be doing his rehab to standard, he suddenly forgot how to speak english and could only communicate in spanish (his secondary language). The brain was jostled to such an extent, he had to relearn the entire english language. That was by far the most extreme thing I have personally seen in regards to the unknown capabilities of the human brain. This is not to say Big Ben will have these types of issues, but nothing can be cleared at this point and I truly wish him the best in his recovery. I still can't help thinking how stupid that decision was !!!WHODEY !!!

F*cking Idiot !!!More from the Dumb & Dumber Dep't: per PFT, it appears that Ben may have been in violation of the law after all by not wearing a helmet:As it's written, the relevant Pennsylvania statute requires riders to wear protective gear, including a helmet. But the law creates an exception for the following categories of persons: (1) a person over the age of 21 who has been licensed to operate a motorcycle for at least two years; or (2) a person over the age of 21 who has completed an approved a motorcycle rider safety course. If Roethlisberger had not completed an motorcycle rider safety course, he did not qualify for the exemption, since it appears that he has not held a license to operate a motorcycle for the requisite two years. What a knucklehead... unbaised_steelerfan
By Adam SchefterNFL Analyst THE IRONY... Suddenly, the Baltimore Ravens just might have the most stable quarterback situation in the AFC North. Steve McNair is ready to start with Kyle Boller as his backup. In Pittsburgh, there are questions about Roethlisberger. In Cincinnati there are questions about Carson Palmer. And in Cleveland, the Browns are turning to unproven second-year quarterback Charlie Frye. When the Ravens have the division's most stable quarterback situation, it tells how you quickly the league can change.

jditty47
ya hes an idiot. but as most have said i hope he recovers his health. remeber this, its usually never the motorcycles fault, but who do u think takes the brunt of the force, the car or the motorcycle? first off u have to be out of ur mind to drive a motorcycle in the first place with the rate of accidents in this country alone - even if u dont include a motorcycle, 2nd off u have to be completely retarded to not wear a jacket and a helmet. Edogger
I feel bad for the guy, other than the fact that he was not a valid approved motocycle rider. That was just plain stupid not getting it. What is it like $300 and a weekend of classes. But this is another reason I will not ride a motorcycle. As bad as I would like one and could get one...I do not trust all of the others drivers out there. Most of them are too busy relaxing in their fully reclined seat to mimic their comfy la-z-boys at home, having very important conversations on their cell phones to pay attention to their surroundings, and being too old to react and respond to the different traffic conditions. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Cowher walked into his hosptial room after cutting his vacation short...

The only difference is that CP's therapy "appears" to be going well based on the information we are allowed to have. I know everybody wants to scoop everybody else on these stories, but it borders on irresponsible to be pushing this stuff out right now. I imagine dude woke up with one heck of a ringing going on in his head and immediately grabbed for the drip button. Not sure how anyone can know enough to make a reasonable prognosis until a few days have passed at least. I can't help but think that there will be more to this story as the week unfolds. As it is, I think they've run with the "best case scenario" as it is. Anything unexpected or delayed and he'll be off that schedule quickly. A quartet with 107 combined starts, 105 combined TDs -- and 103 combined picks + 76 combined fumbles.Memo to Rudi, Jamal, Parker and Droughans: looks like it's gonna be a loooooong year, fellas. Larry
When I was young and dumb, I got busted without a helmet during the time I had a learners permit. 350 dollar fine, and 3 days in jail suspended. Now that is the maximum from what I remember, but I find it odd that Big Ben is not being charged with driving without a license? I guess different rules apply to him on and off the field.....ie - getting a touchdown without accually crossing the goal line....Glad & hope he is ok....We all want the best team available to come to Cinci to get their A$$ kicked... bengal4life
KDKA is now reporting that Big Ben Did Not Have PA Motorcycle License.... which from what i understand now means no matter who was actually at fault, he is guilty for the traffic violation and probablly facing legal trouble....(KDKA) PITTSBURGH One day after the motorcycle accident that seriously injured Ben Roethlisberger, there are new questions about whether the Steelers quarterback even had a license to drive a motorcycle. As accident investigators continue to search for answers, KDKA Investigator Andy Sheehan has learned that police are looking into that issue this afternoon Sources say that while Roethlisberger had a license to operate a car, he apparently did not possess a Pennsylvania motorcycle license.City accident investigators are not commenting, but a confidential source tells KDKA that a review of motor vehicle records in Harrisburg shows that Roethlisberger has never had a Pennsylvania motorcycle license.According to our source, Roethlisberger did have a learner's permit that allowed him to ride a motorcycle; but that permit expired on March 29th.The source goes on to explain that Roethlisberger never took the written and driving test required to get a motorcycle license and would have been driving illegally at the time of the accident. At this point, the state division of motor vehicles will not comment on the licenses of specific state residents. Likewise, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Tammy Ewing tells KDKA that police will "have no comment on licensing issues" until the accident investigation is over.http://kdka.com/

Your name makes me believe you are a Steeler fan, but your comments are so sane, unemotional, and dare I say ... normal. Apologies, but I know several hundred Steeler fans (dozens of which I would consider close friends here in Pittsburgh), and they are all completely irrational when it comes to the Steelers. You, sir, sound like one for which I may need to alter my opinion. You cannot possibly live in this city ... you would have stuck out by now!
