AMC
Korey Dickerson just dropped a pass for the Hamburg Sea Devils. How appropriate. Some "expert" on the NFL Network said this was the "Year of the Tight End" for all the TE's that got drafted. That may mean that somebody's going to be out of a job soon. I'm still having Ohalete nightmares, but maybe we'll pick up somebody decent off the waiver wire.Daniel Graham is thought to be in peril in NE..... TJJackson
GREAT NEWS!!!!!!http://www.ajc.com/gatech/content/sports/g...1techdraft.htmlDE Eric Henderson is going to be a Bengal! Finally we get a top free agent!http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...chenderson.htmlBarring injury (and he has had his issues with that, but with a FA salary, no biggie) this kid will definitely start ahed of Rucker-----Now we need a S and a TE other than Hamby
membengal
Yes! Finally a TOP FREE AGENT! Other than, oh, say Sam Adams, or Dexter Jackson, or, last year after the draft, when the Bengals got Ben Wilkerson, but, YES, hurray, FINALLY, a top free agent!!!!!!!!!Whooooooo!!!!!On to the Super Bowl with this top UNDRAFTED free agent!!!!!!!!!!!!!And, CLEARLY he will start ahead of Rucker, because the Bengals' coaches hate Rucker so much they drafted him in the third round but cagily waited until after the draft to get that other guy! ML, you master of secret moves, you. Well done!Korey Dickerson just dropped a pass for the Hamburg Sea Devils. BTG
Henderson is a quality player. That's a good pickup. I'm still hoping they can pick up a quality running back to push Kenny Watson and Chris Perry (cough...DonTrell Moore...cough) and I'd really like to see them bring in Keon Jackson, a safety from Toledo. derekshank
I like the Henderson pick as well... but there was a reason he went undrafted. His production has gone down every single year since his sophomore year.2003: 49 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 11 sacks (wow)2004: 41 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks (less wow)2005: 27 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 6 sacks (undrafted)
DontPushMe
Barring injury (and he has had his issues with that, but with a FA salary, no biggie) this kid will definitely start ahed of RuckerLOL!!!Looks like we've found this years Ben Wilkerson. The undrafted free agent that the coaches valued higher than someone they used a valueble draft pick on!
TJJackson
The reason his numbers have gone down - injuries and altered rolePlease readhttp://forums.bengalszone.com/index.php?sh...=0entry146672Then look at his stats for individual games in 2005, for example:vs Clemson http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/sports/m-foot.../102905aaa.htmlvs Auburn: http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com/sports/m-foot.../090405aaa.htmlNote that inbetween these games, he isn't even listed as a player....he was injuredIf you care to do the checking (and somehow put aside for a moment the notion that if I say it, it must be wrong) you'll get excited about this player that nfldraftcountdown notes "wreaks havoc in opponents backfields". BTG
That Tahi kid from BYU is tough. I like him. Don't know the other two on there.
schweinhart
Tahi is extremely nimble for as squat of a FB he is. Nimble enough to maybe handle some TE duty, but not sure he's got enough height or separation to fit there. After passing on TEs in the draft, the Bengals look content (unless they pick up a vet cut after June 1) to go with TE/HB hybrids like Ronnie Ghent and Tony Stewart and inline blocker Reggie Kelley.Really can't see Hamby amounting to anything other than NFLE if he even gets that far. Sanders either. If anything happens to Kelly this year, the Bengals could put themselves in a position similar to 2 years ago when they ran out of centers unless they address it before the season starts. Stripes
We were able to snag Eric Henderson, eh? I like it. That's two years in a row that the Bengals have been able to sign an upper echelon undrafted free agent (for whatever that's worth).I was wanting us to draft Henderson every round after the third, but that's why I don't run the team! HoosierCat
Dunno ifthis has been posted yet but found it buried at the bottom of a Post stry...The Bengals have agreed to terms with a pair of college free agent linebackers, John Busing of Miami and Wyatt Gayer from Anderson University in Indiana. The team will announce all of its undrafted signings later this week.
princeton
I read somewhere that Busing is a speedy, scrawny LB who might have to switch to S or TEI can't think of why we'd want someone for those positions?

HoosierCat
Has been noted elsewhere but for the record the henderson deal is official:Bengals | Team agrees with UDFA E. HendersonMon, 1 May 2006 18:26:18 -0700The Associated Press reports the Cincinnati Bengals have reached a contract agreement with undrafted rookie free agent DE Eric Henderson (Georgia Tech). schweinhart
Now that is a nice avatar....must be on the 99-cent menu. With a pick like Frostee, at least one UDFA better turn out to be more than just cheaper than a tackling dummy. So far, 4 of these poor discards might have a chance to stick: Meyer could seriously give both Krenzel and A-Wright a run. Henderson if healthy could wind up starting. Tahi has got a shot if he can block on the line or do what Reggie Kelly did some last year in blocking lead out of the I in certain situations. With Buckethead on his last leg for years now, Larry Moore on the outs and Ben Wilkerson still a ?, Jesse Boone could wind up the backup center by the time the season starts. Here's an updated list of undrafted rookies still available based on the Zone mock:Projected round, position, players3rd Round (1)DE Eric Henderson (BENGALS)4th Round (5)TE Tim Day (BEARS)RB Taurean Henderson (VIKES), Andre Hall (BUCS)LB Spencer Havner (SKINS)CB Dion Byrum (BEARS)5th Round (7)LB Brian Iwuh (CHIEFS)DE Brandon GuilloryDT Marcus Green (GIANTS)C Chris McNeil (DOLPHINS)T Donald Penn (VIKES)WR Miles Austin (COWBOYS)FB Matt Bernstein6th Round (13)S Nick Turnbull (FALCONS) and Jahmile Addae (BUCS)LB Dale Robinson (COLTS), Ricky Brown and Kai ParhamDE Roderkus WrightCB Darrell Hunter (ZONA), Eric Bassey and Anwar Phillips (SAINTS)C Donavan Raiola (RAMS)QB Erik Meyer (BENGALS)FB Naufahi Tahi (BENGALS)P John Torp (VIKES)7th (25)TE Anthony Mix (GIANTS)S Dwayne Slay (BEARS), Chijoke Onyenegecha (SKINS) and Trevis ColeyLB Nick Reid (CHIEFS), Shomari Earls, John Syptak (SEAHAWKS) and Kevis ColeyDE Mike Kudla (STEELERS), Charlton Keith (CHIEFS), Paul Carrington (FALCONS) and Ben IsholaDT Steve Fifita (DOLPHINS) and McKinley Boykin (SAINTS)CB Rolando Humphrey and Nathan SoelbergWR Hank Baskett (VIKES) and Martin Nance (BILLS)RB Ryan GilbertFB Victor MannG Rob Smith, Troy Reddick and Rob MeadowC Jesse Boone (BENGALS)KR Charles Gordon (VIKES)

Stripes
well 1 thing I do like about ghent is hes been getting work at fullback so he can be backup TE and FB I'd love to see him pan out as our own version of Chris Cooley in Washington. We could also cut Nick Luchey with Ghent as the backup FB, and any saved roster spot is excellent.
