  1. Allen might help. Hard to get excited about it, but I fully understand that the Bengals will never get top tier guys because these cheap fu*ks still never want to guarantee anything more than the 1st year of a contract. Top players want security.
  2. Good extension. I'd rather have continuity along the Oline and Brown is at least average. Potentially having 3 starters on the Oline as free agents next offseason worried me. Still should have given Risner 2 or 3 years, but it is what it is.
  3. I hope you're right, but after the past couple of offseasons, he has some built up animosity, so he will have that extra drive for at least 2 games a season. Can't discount anger as motivation.
  4. I think you have to draft best OT available at #10. Need a Brown replacement next year, but also someone who can step in if there is an injury because Bengals have no depth at Tackle and play in a division with Killer Pass Rushers. #ProtectJoeBurrow
  5. 4 years $112 m (could go up to $120m with incentives) Trey used to abuse Orlando Brown when Brown was in KC. I'm sure he will again. Poor Burrow.
  6. While I don't think Downs would make it past KC at #9 espcially after losing Cook, unless they go CB for a McDuffie replacement, I agree and still jump on Caleb Downs. A Secondary of Turner, Hill, Cook & Downs looks game changing.
  7. Thanks. Glad to be back. I see a lot of familiar names i remember from the past. You, Hoosier, TJJackson, Volcom, COB and many more. One guy i havent seen since I've been back (hope he's still ok) is BengalszoneBilly?
  8. This would be how things would play out if the Bengals had a Real GM. Imaginary GM: Hey Mike, we can get Rashan Gary for a 4th RD pick. Mike Brown: But then we'd have to pay him, right? Imaginary GM: Hey Mike, we can get Minkah Fitzpatrick for a 7th Rd Pick. Mike Brown: But then we'd have to pay him, right?
  9. Mikey's going to bring up a vote in the next owner's meeting, to ban guaranteeing more than the 1st year of a contract.
  10. Lol. I had to come up with a new name. Old account got locked out. May not remember, but i was on this site pretty heavily around 2005-2010. Went by BengalPimp in the younger days.
  11. Right, and Bengals will sit on their ass and ignore the Oline because "it was Burrows best line so far". That doesnt mean it was great, and 3 starters Brown, Risner and Karras are only signed through this year. They have no decent backups at Tackle so if Brown or Mims get hurt, Burrow is screwed. Yeah Bengals, go ahead and draft all defense, and ignore the Oline, because you made bad defensive picks recently, need to re-draft same positions, and let a double digit sack guy get away for nothing (Raiders got 2 Firsts for Crosby).
  12. Yup, some teams (Ravens) will trade for a great pass rusher like Crosby, and some teams will dick around a great pass rusher and not guarantee more than a year at a time, letting who is widely considered the #1 Free Agent available, get away, and then lie and say that Pass Rush is the biggest priority. Sell the f'n team so the new owner can GET REAL Football people in charge.
  13. I don't have faith in the Bengals signing anybody of quality, and they definitely wont improve long term. They will throw out 1 year deals, or they will try to sign these guys to a 3 year deal with only the 1st year guaranteed. You cant keep doing business that way. Nobody is going to want to come. Players will go to whoever GUARANTEES the most money. Not to be cut next year with no pay when they are a year older.
  14. Who's capable of doing that? Mikey? Katie? Duke? Troy? You have to hire experienced professionals, who know the cap and how to work it. Problem nowadays is every moron (see Brown Family) has access to Google and ChatGPT and thinks they can do far more than their abilities allow them too.
  15. I agree, but i feel they would also try to low ball them again next year, which means not signing early, leading to more risk of not getting anything done. They know the cap will go up another $20m next offseason, throw a 2nd year non-guranteed "up to $5m" at Risner. I also wouldn't be opposed to extending Brown for a year or two at something reasonable because like you said, they could do a lot worse.
  16. F*cking IDIOTS !!! Now we get to look forward to next offseason where we have 3 Open spots on the Oline because Brown, Karras and Risner will all be free agents. They dont have enough draft picks, and will probably load up on Defense this year. You cant build an Oline with 3 Rookies next year. Forget free agency, because next year some of the higher cap figures kick in on Burrow, Chase and Higgins contracts. Couldnt at least do their typical 2 year deal with only the first year guaranteed? I mean...Do they just hate Joe Burrow that much!!!
  17. Shemar actually bought that from the Bengals annual yard sale (auction)at Paycor. Along with some bar stools and an old mini fridge from one of the luxury boxes.
  18. When they lose out on Risner, they'll re-sign Cordell Volson and lie to us about how good he's looked in the offseason, and they're excited for his "improved" play. Blah Blah Blah
  19. Exactly. I'm willing to bet that the holdup is, these cheap fucks dont want to guarantee anything other than the 1st year. A 31 yr old Guard is looking for security, and not to move towns again next year. A 3yr $12-15m deal with at least the first 2 years guaranteed (only $8-10m) should get it done. The top Guards are making $20-$20m PER SEASON, and you can get quality play for half that pay over 3 years? WTF?
  20. Just sign Tyreek Hill to a 1 year deal, stick him in the slot, Let Burrow cook for 5,000 yds and 50 TD's and keep trying to outscore everyone. Because same Head Coach, same D-Coordinator, and same Fake GM drafting won't change this D in 1 year, let alone this decade.
  21. That's because KC owner Clark Hunt isn't a moron who just puts his child, his childs spouse, and other family in charge. He actually hires real GM's, VP's, Executive VP's, VP of Football Administration, etc. People who know how to run a franchise and work a salary cap. Clark Hunt lets his daughter Gracie do marketing because she's an absolute smokeshow, but again, he's smart enough to know what role is best for everyone.
  22. I'm one of the few who still want Trey around and hope somehow that happens. Mainly because i have Zero faith in the front office to draft or bring in a free agent who will put anywhere near the pressure Trey would on opposing QB's. Throw out a 3yr $75m and guarantee the first 2 years. I'd rather pay Trey $25m than a 5 sack guy like Ossai $15m, or worse, have El Cheapo's hold onto the money and call it "Profit" The Salary Cap is going up $20m+ every year now because of the media contract. Come the f*ck on.
