According to this, Steelers have the highest ‘combined’ rating! Division winners??
-
https://sumersports.com/teams/defensive/ According to team defensive rankings: Browns 12 Steelers 26 Ravens 29 Bengals 30 According to team offensive rankings: Steelers 8 Ravens 24 Bengals 29 Browns 31

Just listened to the Bengals Booth Podcast. According to Lap, Pittsburgh got Jalen Ramsey and Jarius Slay specifically because of Chase and Higgins! It was so sweet to see Ramsey get his hind end handed to him only because, despite his talent, I can’t stand his attitude and mouth!

I know ‘allowed sacks’ aren’t the complete ‘gauge for OL, but the first article shows 8 teams with MORE sacks! The second article is from a man who has not only played as an NFL offensive lineman, but actually played WITH the Bengals. I’ll go with Whit’s assessment.

https://www.foxsports.com/articles/nfl/2025-nfl-defense-rankings-team-pass-and-rush-stats We got #4 defense (Packers) going against #30 (Bengals) Not strange seeing the Bengals at #30 but seeing the Ravens at #31 is stunning compared to somewhere in the top 10 that they usually come in at! Offensively, #14 (Packers) going against #32 (Bengals)

Hope he has 40+ points in that 40 year old arm!
-
Actually this is a realistic prediction! I guess no one is realistically focusing on the defense TJ, because it requires a whole new squad??
-
The defense!! Offense will have to score 30+ points to even have a chance to win.

Whitworth weighs in: https://www.cincyjungle.com/cincinnati-bengals-news/176538/andrew-whitworth-shocking-stat-offensive-line-history

All the talking heads saying how Flacco won’t help because no running game and the worst OL in the league! I agree, Flacco, regardless of how good he plays, cannot overcome a hapless defense! Not hearing this from the THs! What a job! Making millions giving opinions that everyone else has! https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-sacks-allowed-nfl

The ONLY HC to be fired by the Bengals was Marvin Lewis! With this defense, not sure Burrow would have made a difference! After all they lost 5 games last year where the Bengals scored 35+ points! Can't blame the OL for those!
-
With this hapless defense, outside of Burrow, (and even at 100% the jury is still out concerning him) it doesn’t matter who’s at QB!
-
Let’s see the teams who seem to have consistent winning seasons; Steelers, Rsvens, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Broncos, Eagles, 49ers, Lions, Packers, Buccaneers, Rams!
-
2-15? The most the Bengals have lost in a row during a single season was 10 in 2010! I thought for sure it would be from the 90s!
-
After 57 years please tell me that there really isn’t anybody surprised. This franchise has an injury prone QB, a hapless defense, the smallest scouting team in the NFL, an owner that couldn’t find his ass with both hands, so there shouldn’t be anyone that’s surprised or upset. As this ole time Bengal has been saying for the past 57 years, “There’s always next year!!” ’Good night Irene!’

Forget Detroit, MNF at Denver! Primetime game away . . . I smell another onslaught coming!!
-
Not to mention realistically they should be 0-3
-
It’s been that way since the birth of this franchise in 1968! Shame on me for buying into hope, FOR ANOTHER YEAR!
-
Come on folk! Burrow would have to have scored at least 50 points! It’s not the QB for crying out loud! DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!!
-
So assuming you were frustrated AND surprised with Burrow’s 4 picks against the Steelers?
-
Blaming the OL for Burrow’s 4 interceptions, but not blaming OL for Brownings 3 picks on Sunday, or am I just getting ahead of myself? Not much can be done but I look at it like this, how many teams could even have a shot with a backup QB?
-
On final question, then time to move on with Browning. I don’t come in here very often and I know it was 2 years ago, but were folks bashing Burrow’s 4 picks against the Steelers, like Browning on Sunday, or was the focus of the bashing on the missed 29 yard game winning FG by McPherson?

“Joe Burrow suffered two major injuries in his college career: a broken bone in his throwing hand in 2017 as a sophomore at Ohio State, and a torn rib cartilage in his left side during the 2019 National Championship Game as a redshirt senior at LSU. He recovered quickly from the hand injury to become a backup for the Buckeyes, and he played through the rib injury during the championship game, according to Yahoo Sports. It seems to me he is injury prone. Let’s see what happens with Browning with the same OL. After all he’s going to be the QB going forward this year! I hope I’m wrong and time will tell. As far as picks go, let’s not forget Burrow threw 4 against the Steelers on September 11, 2022. Like yesterday, Burrow tied the game at 20 all, and the Bengals had a chance to win, but their 29-yard field goal attempt by Evan McPherson was missed.
-
How much is scouting connected to their inability to put together the OL with a higher rating. Is it possible that he is just injury prone? From Google: a wrist fracture in 2017 at Ohio State, a knee injury in 2020 during his NFL rookie season, a dislocated finger in 2021, an MCL sprain in the 2022 Super Bowl, a calf strain in 2023 training camp, a season-ending wrist ligament tear in late 2023, and a recent turf toe injury in Week 2 of the 2025 season requiring surgery.
-
Not saying he ISN’T the best. Now I know Dalton is not even in the same league with Burrow, but if memory serves he was only hurt the one time with the thumb. Better OL? More durable even though way less talented? We cannot put the appendicitis and the wrist injury on the OL.
